I'm here right now, doesn't seem much busier than normal. Can't really say about Wednesday, Friday will be packed.

No tourney Thursday.

What's the action like during the week, like on Wednesday or Thursday? I only play 2-5 NLHE and lower. How much 2-5 is there on these days?

I drove up and played in the 1 P.M. $60 tournament today. Had a good time and most dealers were competent. Missed a good early opportunity to quadruple up (folded 55 preflop...flop AK5...three people went all in and the set would have been good). Seemed well-run, though this is maybe my 5th tourney ever so it's not like I have a ton of experience.

Side note-- saw T.J. Cloutier degening it up playing the ponies in the off-track betting room

Heading up Thursday to play. How is 2-5 NL Thursday night? I know weekends is the best time to play that game but unfortunately only going to be there till Friday and leaving around 3-5pm. Also is the Friday tourney worth playing? I here you start with 5k chips but I don't know anything about the blind structure?....

As I recall stacks were 3k, 20 minute levels. Competition was standard, my first table had two players getting involved way too often, they went busto.

They capped entrants at 150 but during the first hour they used alternates to fill seats of those busted, ended with 194 entrants. I heard that chops are usually made when they get down to two tables

Hi all, a few quick questions about Winstar:

1. I only skimmed this thread, but I didn't see anything about max-buyin at $1/$2 NLHE and $2/$5 NLHE. Is it 100 bbs for each?

2. Would you recommend staying at the casino itself or going to Best Western (or something similar) nearby?

3. Is there anywhere in the casino (or hotel) where you can get wireless internet access for free?

1. 1/2 = $100-$200; 2/5 = $300-$500
2. The casino's hotel is so-so as far as quality goes. Comparable to a Holiday Inn, but nothing to write home about. Downside is it's a LONG (1/2 mile?) walk. I don't really have much experience with other hotels.
3. No free wireless that I know of.

Bunch of cheap places in Gainesville to stay at.

I usually have no problem connecting to wifi on my Ipod Touch in the casino

hotel room in the casino to the poker room is 1 mile walk

Just found out I'm relocating to southern Oklahoma for a new job. Will be sure to hit up the casino within a month after getting there, so you 1/2 regs should have a new TAG fish to feed on.
