Choctaw recently changed to "no flop no drop" (on 2/5 and higher I believe). This is huge for grinders like me. Every time you steal the blinds, you get $7 instead of $6, and even if it goes: $20, 3bet $70, all-in $300, everyone folds, there's no rake. I think this could easily add $5 an hour to any competent player. Problem is, choctaw rarely has good 2/5 games.

Anyway, I'm posting this here because it would awesome if we could somehow convince winstar to do this as well. Or at least, no flop no rake as I doubt they'll ever change grabbing the "jackpot" dollar before the cards are even dealt.

I'm not even sure the exact policy right now on a situation like above? Dealer-guy? If it goes $20, $70, all-in $300, and everyone else folds is it $5 rake?

Dealer-guy, is there a greater than 0% chance of ever getting something like this changed?

It's 5+1. So 6$ is raked from your pot never to return to the Winstar felt. If Winstar quit raking preflop I would come back and resume my ~40 hour a week play. Until then winstar will be mising my ~700 a week.

Dude, Winstar 1/2 is full of fish. Almost all fish aside from the occasional nit.

Honestly, I do see those fish stacking off light and just giving away their money. I saw it all weekend long. But, ironically, they will not do it against me or more importantly, I never ever seem to have any type of hand worth playing when all of this super donkey crushing style of play is going on. I guess I play too tight so no one wants to tango with me unless they have the nuts. That puts a smile on my face knowing they actually try to play good against me because my table image is that of a good player.

Once and for all, I do apologize for the way I have posted negatively in this thread. It was just due to my frustrations of hundreds of dollars flying around the table with K7 when they hit top pair and Im over here with J2 offsuit and can't hit a flop.

I will now shut up and work on my game.

p.s. I also discovered that if you play on certain days then it is only grinders and other certain days there are many, many fish.

Also guys...please don't mistake 'running good' and 'catching cards' for thinking Winstar is full of fish. Just because every other pocket pair you play seems to hit a set does not meant that the guy you have tagged as a fish is actually a fish when he stacks off with top 2 pair with AK or AQ.

Does anyone know exactly how much the rake is? I know they drop $1 from the get-go but after that how much is it?

For example: if I bet $10 preflop and get 1 caller, and then c-bet and villain folds, how much rake do they take out of that pot?

Or if 2 stacks of $100 are all in how much rake would be taken?

And can somebody explain the rake rule to a newbie who has never played live? I have been pretty profitable playing online and want to try live.

At winstar they always take the SB preflop and I believe the max rake is 5$ if the pot is over 50$. I think that's how rake works at winstar. If I remember right on what they told me.
