I ended up playing the 1/3 game, no tournament. 2 winning sessions, same old low stakes poker. Good time, fast dealers, idiot players. Fun stuff.

Seems like it would be easier and cheaper to just rent a car.

Anyways, I played 1/3 on Monday at Winstar for the first time ever. I went around 11am, and it took a bit for the games to get going, but once the 1pm tournament started, there were a few tables. Games were really good for a random Monday.

Raking the SB pre was pretty lame, but the room was great.

This is true for almost any travel practically anywhere in the United States of America.

WinStar is reopening 5/27/2020 without table games or poker. Looking forward to playing poker there again, so this at least feels like progress.

Interesting, but Choctaw had games going this week. I wonder if this will influence Winstar decision to open sooner. Anybody know any hard dates of the poker room re-opening?

I’m sure there’s a Choctaw thread, but anyone been? How many players per table? Masks required? Masks available if you want one? Chips cleaned, hand sanitizer available?

Hi there... first time poster, long time lurker.

I got back from Choctaw not too long ago. All tables are 6 max. Masks not required, but available upon request. I'd say about half of the people in the entire casino were wearing masks (better than the typical Walmart). Multiple gallon jugs of hand sanitizer placed throughout the poker room. Chips were most definitely not cleaned... were about as bad as Winstar's chips before they swapped in the new set. They did have new felt and cards, and staff was wiping down chairs and rails before letting new players sit.

I sat at 1/2, and the game was good and splashy thanks to the regs waiting to get onto the lone 2/5 table and those who were obviously itching to get back to gambling.

Anyone have an idea of when they will open? Seems weird they are still closed despite Choctaw being open for a bit now.

it is weird. there's so much more space at winstar compared to choctaw, they could do all the spacing stuff and keep everybody safe. but choctaw definitely keeping the traffic going, bringing in a lot of the winstar crowd.

Yup... Hopefully Texas Card Room will open soon. No need to ever go to Winstar again when that happens. Except for when the wife wants to feed the slots.

Please elaborate I’m moving to the Fort Worth area. Is Texas Card Room scheduled to open in the area? And what would make TCC better than Winstar? Strictly distance?

This forum does not consider Texas poker rooms legal so please stop discussing them. Thanks.

Do you mean just this thread? Because we have another huge thread that is just about Texas poker rooms on here.

Is anyone still getting those offer codes for complimentary hotel rooms in the mail? They seem to have "dried up" for me - I hadn't played since November, but I was able to stay at the hotel for free a couple times this year - I'm trying to go again and there don't appear to be any offer codes attached to my passport card.

I actually wouldn't mind going up there and throwing away some money on the slots if it meant I could continue getting free hotel stays, I just don't want to throw away so much it defeats the purpose.

Don't hit the slots, it's definitely not needed to get free hotel comps. They usually comp you no matter what during weekdays with the resort fee which is 10.80 I believe (M-Th), but I guess that might have changed since the pandemic. You could call and give them your players card number and ask if you can get comped rooms, and you usually should be able to.

That's what I used to do, just call the hotel and ask what you can get with your players card #. You can combine #'s too. They wouldn't give me **** until I tacked my gf's number on (slot player), then I could get all the free rooms I wanted, lol.

I was unsuccessful. I haven't played poker there since November and don't play anything else. All they would tell me is that whether or not you get the coupons for comped rooms depends on how much and how often you play. They did offer to let me combine with another number. My friend's daughter beat me to him though LOL so I was out of luck.

Further updates as events warrant.
