I realize they aren't spread there as I've said in my post..I'm looking for an explanation as to why it isn't being spread there. Like perhaps the poker room doesn't allow those games to be spread...or if an attempt to start those kinds of games in the past had failed...?

Yes it's been covered it's a different gaming commission and they only allow flop games

Winstar really only has one big tournament series a year. As such those games would mostly just run during the River even if they were allowed.

Thanks everyone for the responses to my questions a couple of weeks ago. I'll be at Winstar this upcoming week on either Wednesday or Thursday to play for the day. Any thoughts on which day may favor better action/more games? I'm guessing they're about the same, but maybe a Reg knows something I don't. Then the other thing is, I didn't see anywhere online or on Bravo about straddling or rake. UTG, button, or sleeper available? My usual card room is a 4+1 max rake taken only if there is a flop. I did see somewhere that Winstar takes SB even without a flop. Correct? I like to know these things in advance, as we usually chop the blinds around here if folded around and I like to plan for my adjustments. They don't seem to run a lot of promotions, so I was curious if their rake is less. Thanks everyone.

I would GUESS that Thursday would likely have more 2/5 games but more grinders as well. However, if 5/T went on Thursday but not on Wednesday that would be advantageous for the 2/5 games on Thursday but my GUESS is that 5/T will run both days. If 5/T doesn't run that will only make the 2/5 games tougher.

Straddling - only UTG. No double straddles.

Rake - $5+1. The $1 is taken before the cards are dealt. Most players chop.

They don't run many promotions because they have a monopoly in the area.

Cheapest/Best place to stay if I'm planning a trip up to Winstar? I recall someone saying that Gainesville is a good place.

What kind of differences do you notice between the Winstar 1/2 and 1/3 games? I've only ever played at the 1/2 and people I've talked to at the casino say stupid things like "1/3 is hard cause no one ever folds their cards." Any differences that you notice between the types of players that play the games, the level of play, the action, etc?

Anyone have experience with the concerts? Is section C OK or is that too far away? Sides OK or do you want middle?

Does anybody know if there is a regular 10/25 or 25/50 NLHE only game during the week (NOT Fri or Saturdays)? Looking to fly out and play in one somewhere before the end of 2015 & want to make sure 100% they will have a game and typically what time it is spread

No, definitely not that high during the week. 10/20 on Fri/sat sometimes.

Sides are fine, no obstructions. Most of the seats are on level floor, so if your not on the tall side you should try for either closer seats or moving back to the riser sections in D.

5/10 will definitely spread every weekend and most week nights. Very rarely bigger than 5/10 unless the river is going on (though 25/50 nl is being spread right now). Not sure what the min and max buy is for 5/10 but if it is consistent with the other stakes it will be $1000 max $500 min.

PLO is spread most nights, always on weekends, i'm not sure the stakes.

WSOP is happening in early to mid January at Choctaw so if you want highstakes action soon that's the place to be.

Has anyone ever tried to get a 30/60 or 40/80 limit hold game going here? Would anyone be interested?

I've tried to get 15/30 or 20/40 going. Never going to happen. Closest place to play any limit is 20/40 at Horseshoe Bossier on Thursdays and Fridays.

I'm seriously considering Winstar after being told by 4 diff ppl on 4 diff occasions that I'd do great there so I'm considering it

Not trying to brag but I've heard nothing but compliments about my play style while playing 1/2 in Vegas. Most ppl I meet from N. TX are shocked to hear I don't play at Winstar and say I should.

I hear Winstar is super soft. How soft is 1/2 and how does it normally play. I'm a decent player but I really think my success in Vegas is bc I stick to tourist traps (planet hollywood, ballys, mgm grand) and I hit the tables fully alert and sober when the drunks come to play after 8pm.

How's the 1/2action at Winstar om fri/sat nights. What can a decent player expect to bring home playing solid ABC for five hours on a fri/sat night at 1/2.

And i know it varies so i'm just asking generally. I know abc isn't always the right approach as poker is about people. I guess my main concern is its winstar. Can it be that popular that people from the dfw metro are driving up there to gamble. Ive been here for 10 years and only been once bc someone visiting from out of town wanted to play slots. That was b4 my poker playin days

Most people at Winstar on any given day are from Dallas/FW metro. 1/2 and 1/3 run regularly. I've only played 1/3 there. Games are as soft as you would expect for LL Live. Games mostly populated by loose/weak/passive types. You'll see fewer drunks than in Vegas because drinks are not free and most people are driving in/out. As always, anything above 10BB/hour over a large enough sample size is crushing.
