I am in this camp as well. I much prefer the setup at Choctaw but the room traffic is dismal a majority of the time.

Cash, I'm sure they are great chairs- I just do not remember anything about them- I do remember how nice the room is and how they only had 2 tables running on a Thursday around 7pm. Then I showed up the day of the WSOP circuit main and they had the wait list like 70 names deep for 1/2. I get a lot of my poker in during the week and making a hour plus drive to find 2 tables of Choctaw regs battling over baby pots has kept me from doing that again. The room is nice for sure, if I played weekends maybe I would venture down 75 again.

Why haven't any sort of mixed games taken off at winstar? I understand why some crazy 13 game mix isn't, but a simple HOE, or TOE game seems like it would be popular given some time. With such a huge city like dallas near by couldn't a higher mix game run from time to time?

2/5 games run all the time, even Mondays. Don't think 5/10 gets going til little later in the week.

how often does the 5/10 run? I called the poker room and he said it pretty much runs every day, but from some of the other posts it looks like it only runs on the weekends.

Winstar is on bravo, you can keep an eye on the 5/10 on there. Seems like it's always running when I'm there, but I don't get up there much outside of weekends.

Nah usually runs 5/6 days a week but your lowest odds on it running will be earlier in the week.

At times the rules at Winstar can become a bit confusing even to those of us that play quite a bit. This can be due to selective enforcement/understanding of the rules by dealers but can also be because the rules do change over time.

It seems like it was a little over a year ago that they changed the last aggressive action rule. It used to be that if there was no action on the river then players had to show their cards in order from the left of the button regardless of who made the last aggressive action. For instance, the button goes all in preflop and the small blind calls, on the river the small blind would be required to show first due to position. That was a pretty terrible rule and now the rule is that the last aggressor must show first (thus the button).

About a month or so ago there was an interesting spot where a player checked back Jacks full (essentially the nuts) on the river in a heads up pot. Another player asked to see both players cards as she was worried about collusion and the dealer refused saying it is now against policy to do so unless you were in the pot at showdown. This policy was reiterated to me by another dealer as well. I can understand the policy as some players abuse the right to see other's cards and it is considered in poor taste. That being said, if you do suspect someone of colluding then you should probably pause the dealer and call the floor so that you can see the mucked cards. FWIW, I believe strongly that the kid with Jack's full simply checked behind due to inexperience not because he was colluding.

Played there last night. On the 300/500, 500 is the max buy in. No 5/10 ran at a all. I also tried to call in and get on the list on the way up and current policy is no call ins for list in games under 5/10.

You should have called back in 5 minutes to see if someone else picked up the phone.
