Gonna be at Cowboy Stadium this weekend. If I get a chance, would like to hit up closest casino. I will not go if there is even a chance they won't have at least 2/5 running, from the sound of things doesn't sound like that is an issue. I know there is Choctaw and this one. Appears this one is a bit closer than Choctaw. Which do you recommend? Any others around?

Any thoughts on this winstar express bus system? It says you can make reservations but I can't really do that as im w friends and won't really know exactly when I can go. Anybody know if I can just show up at a pick up site? Do they have any close to Cowboy Stadium? How far of a cab ride from there do you think it is?

Cowboy Stadium to Winstar is close to 1.5 hour drive. I would think that would be a very expensive cab ride, but haven't tried it.

Don't know anything about the Winstar Express but according to the website, the Arlington pickup location is in South Arlington. Cowboys stadium is in North Arlington. (i.e. going south for pickup is going the opposite direction of the Casino) That being said, I didn't see any defined pickup cities to the north (direction of the casino) that would be a shorter cab ride than going to South Arlington for the pickup. However, taking a cab up to the Irving pickup location at least gets you going in the direction of the casino for pickup. Not sure how long the cab ride would be, but it shouldn't be *too* much more than going to the South Arlington pickup. Either way, you are saving a fortune over the cost of taking a cab all the way to the casino.

Regarding reservations or not, I would recommend that you just call or email them for that... and well, they should be able to help you decide between pickup locations as well.

Yes, you can show up at a pick-up site and as long as they have extra seating they'll take you. You can also call the phone number on the website and they'll tell you if there's any available seating so you don't drive there for nothing.

That would be the worst cab ride ever, for a variety of reasons.

Fwiw, there is a pickup location on Cockrell Hill and I-30 in Dallas about 15 minutes from Cowboys Stadium.

I'm assuming he needs to get home, so it is going to be at least $360 roundtrip and that's assuming you don't have to pay a cab to drive up there and get you (would be shocked if there was a cab line. Over half that drive is through suburban crap (mid-cities area, Denton, etc.) not country side.

Would suck. Bus would be way better if only because 1/10 the cost.

No one likes talking about slots that much. It's 519,000 sq ft, sure, but the vast majority of that is electronic games, table games with "ante", bingo or crappy restaurants.

Yes, other than their poker room, Winstar has nothing for me. It is simply amazing the number of people who go there and pay their ridiculous antes and buy their drinks.

When I don't have time for Vegas, Shreveport is a good alternative for pit games, drinking, etc...

Dealer guy will know for sure but I expect they will start SST's sometime in June.

Ya also heard they are running another mini river series around Memorial Day and can people start bugging the floor about bumping up the buy ins 1/2 to 3 max 2/5 to 1kmax and 5/10 to 5k would make the games spread so much better I've been putting in almost all of my cash at Choctaw due to these reasons plus rewards are a helluva lot better but the play is so good at winstar

It is hit or miss. Last weekend yes. Most of the 2/5 PLO guys are playing 5/10 and willing to jump over if there is at least 1 donk and a solid list.

My suggestion, get the list started early enough and it will run on a Sat night for sure.

Does a 1-2-5 PLO game run pretty much whenever?

No, I've not seen it run the times I've been there. Only the 4/8 Mix (Round of high & O8) runs most days.
