I'm guessing that cash game action is better at Winstar than Choctaw even during the WSOP circuit event? Mainly interested in 2-5, will be up there the weekend of the 12th.

The 2/5 action at Winstar will be good regardless of the day. However, the action on the weekend will be good at Choctaw as well. The greatest discrepancy during these tournaments happens during the weekdays where they will still go strong at Winstar and will dry up on certain days at Choctaw.

I played 1/2 Saturday night and it was so disappointingly nitty. I played at 3 tables and their were only 2 or 3 obvious spots. Of course most everyone still plays bad but not the stationy lol bad I'm seen in the past. I finally believe the ppl who say its hard to make money at 1/2 cuz of rake. Maybe all the donks when to Chocktaw for WSOP.

Can anyone provide a 1-2-5 PLO8 &/or 2-5, 5-10 PLO weekend update?

Can anyone provide any update on how 2/5 or 5/10 games are playing on the weekends right now? I've heard they run 5/10 every weekend, but haven't heard that confirmed lately....

5/10 runs every weekend. I haven't played it in awhile.

2/5 is still easy money. There are some good players to avoid but every table has easy spots. I find the only way to lose is by just running terrible. Last Saturday I was $1,200 in the hole before turning it around and cashing out with a profit of $372.

My only regret is not being able to get up there more than 2-3 times per month.

Are there going to be any promos this Sunday during the Super Bowl?

On the Friday $220 and Sunday $230, what is the payout structure? How many places paid and what would each place get paid? Also how long do they normally run for? I'm trying to decide if it's worth my time to play for the pay or making it to the money.

How are the tournaments during the week, Monday through Thursday? How many people usually enter? I have lots of free time in the future and was thinking about getting back into tournament poker...

I play at Winstar all the time. During the week the tournaments usually have at least 60 usually more.

Can I please get a list of the regular cash games being spread?

Usually they spread the following:

4/8 LHE
1/2 NLH
2/5 NLH
5/10 NLH

I also recall seeing a 10/20 NLH spread on the weekend once before.

They also will spread PLO and O8, especially on the weekends.

1/2 NL - Runs pretty much 24/7.

2/5 NL - Runs nearly as much as 1/2. I play all different hours of the day and can't think of the last time I played when 2/5 wasn't running.

5/10 NL - Runs most days to some extent. Sometimes it starts at noon and sometimes it doesn't start until night. The last 4 Wednesdays there have been 2 tables. Fridays/Saturdays there are always at least 2-3 tables.

10/25 NL - Runs occasionally. I've seen this spread on a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday but at this time I'd say your best bet would be Saturday.

4/8 Limit - I believe this runs every day during the day (ie wouldn't expect it to be going at 2am on a weekday).

1/2/5 Mixed Game (PLO, O8) - This runs every weekend, and I believe some during the week

2/5 PLO - This has run a lot more often the past few months. Generally just on the weekend and I wouldn't guarantee that it will go, but interest in it has definitely picked up.

I know that you have stated above that 1/2 and 2/5 run pretty regularly. Could you give an estimation of how many different tables of each run on weekdays and weekends though? Any rough estimation will do.

3+ 2/5 tables on a weekday. Yesterday there were three 2/5 tables running at noon and it looked like there were 6+ 2/5 tables running last night. There are always a lot more 1/2 tables than 2/5. The room has 48 tables and can fill up on a Saturday...most tables being 1/2.

Busiest days for cash games lately in order are probably: Saturday, Friday, Wednesday, Sunday/Monday, Thursday, Tuesday. Historically from busiest to least busy I would guess: Saturday, Friday, Thursday, Wednesday/Sunday, Tuesday, Monday. (btw, my definition of a poker day is more like 6am to 6am the next day).

Action seems to have picked up on Mondays and Wednesdays due to the new promotion the room introduced which doubles the bad beat on those two days. Also, I believe that there is a bit more action on Sunday's now because of the restructured tournament.

Is this PLO and PLO/8 or limit O8? Are those the only 2 games in the mix?

Both games are pot limit and are the only games in the mix.

Yesterday they had a table of 10/20 limit Omaha/O8 half kill. So I guess they are switching it up some.

FWIW, yesterday there were 3 2/5 tables, 2 5/10 tables, a 4/8 table and a bunch of 1/2s.

I was just on the Winstar site and it says there is an inn nearby with a free shuttle to the casino. I tried to click on the book now button to find the prices and the link is broken. Has anyone ever stayed there?

Are there any decent places near the casino that I can find a cheap weekly room? I have a car.

For weekly places you have to go to Gainesville, 10 minutes away. If you're not too picky I recommend Budget Host Inn if you want to do a weekly stay.

Tournaments allow late registration until the first break. Weekday tournaments are pretty fast structure except on Friday mornings. Friday is $200 + $20
