Is this a statewide restriction or just certain casinos and is there any logic behind it? I know they have some odd rules on some other games like craps/roulette.

People are geeked because CPPT starts today, while event #1 of the River starts in 3 weeks. Anytime there is a poker tournament at Choctaw people get fired up about the cash games because honestly, it's the only time one can expect a decent amount of action higher than 1/2 at Choctaw.

I doubt the action will be any better than what I witnessed on Sunday during/after the mega-satellite at Winstar. Also, I would be surprised if the cash game action is any good during the week (ie Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday).

I got registered for the $2,100 main event for the 3rd day 1 (Saturday). This is my first time playing this event so I obviously plan on winning it.

I think i'll be looking forward to the cash games at Winstar during the River more than Choctaw's CPPT..they can barely get a 2/5 game going everyday.

Played here yesterday after several weeks.
It was PLO day because the tournament was PLO.
These were the games that ran in PLO all at same time
1-2 PLO Mix Hi and Hilo
2-5 PLO Mix Hi and Hilo that was later PLO hilo only
2-5 PLO
5-10 PLO
10-25 PLO
I saw Greg Raymer playing in 10-25 PLO game.
That game was crazy. One hand I saw live pro soul read internet player and call 1200 on river with bottom two pair (probably because the player was repping backdoor nut straight).

Just watching from sidelines I saw crazy coolers and badbeats.
Here are some hands I saw.
I know these happen hundreds of times online but seeing the agony on players makes me think this game is just crazy.
K66 flop KKxx gets it in with 6 and river is 6.
Flop is Q66. QQxx and 66xx slowplay on flop and turn Q. River is A and all money goes in.

Overall room was very busy with lists were very long.
Satellites were running every 15 minutes.
As tournaments players busted more tables were added.
At one point they had 115 on 1-2 NL list.

The games are going to be busy and plentiful until series is over.

Watched the 25/50 PLO with $100 straddle on Sat.

One guy in particular lost back to back ~15k pots while I was watching. Sickest game I've ever seen at Winstar.

That was a sick game. I watched only for few minutes and walked away to watch Maria play in 2/5 and Greg in 2/5 PLO.
It is good to see pros play regular games.
Greg even played 4/8 omaha hi-lo.

Greg was very talkative, friendly and talked poker like young gun 2p2er.
More than his play I was impressed by how much down to earth he was.
He played solid TAG style PLO and amassed big stack.
For someone with his skills I expected him to play bigger.
I think it was just being nice by playing all stakes. I have seen him play 10-25 PLO last week.

I did not see Maria play any big pots. Holdem is boring to watch so I left when she was folding a lot.

I was there from about 1am on the 30th till around 4pm 31st. Mostly 1-2-5 and 2-5 PLO . I was planning to try and satellite into the main but elected to PLO cash game my way in. I managed 3/4s of the buy in and busted the main around 5:30-6. In retrospect, playing PLO all night and then moving directly to a 2200 buy in tournament probably was't the wisest move I've ever made but what the hell.

You locals are fortunate to have a great all around room. Good floor and dealers, and the action was very much worth the trip. I will be back.

NASCAR Traffic?

Am driving up from Austin Friday night and returning Sunday sometime. I just noticed that the NASCAR race is this weekend, anyone have a clue what the traffic patterns are? I need to be back in ATX by 4 PM on Sunday.

Will 35W be a madhouse around the track? Should I divert to 35E even though its further and maybe save time?

Thanks!

Friday Night is just a truck race and the attendance shouldn't be that high, so I would assume that it wouldn't have a huge impact on traffic. Sundays are crazy around the race track. No clue how it impacts 35W, but I would take 35E on Sunday.

Coming from Austin, if you take the 35E split through Dallas instead of 35W split through Fort Worth, you shouldn't hit race specific traffic.

Hotels-

When is the new hotel scheduled to open? Am tired of staying in Gainesville and having to deal with who wants to play when with the guys I drive up with.

Or, a shuttle around the hotels in G-ville would be nice too. Has there ever been any discussion of something like that on the weekends maybe?

I'm not sure about the shuttles, but the new hotel's been open for a looooong time. It's still a mile walk through the casino to the poker room though, lol.

Yeah, I was talking about the 15 or 20 story building they are working on right next to that one. I am assuming that's going to be a hotel?

One of the shuttle drivers told me one time that WS will always be under construction because they lose some kind of tax break if they stop building.

They have to reinvest a certain amount, I think is why they are constantly constructing things.

No idea but I guess around 6 months til its open.

Delays possible on I-35 at Oklahoma-Texas border
Associated Press
11/13/2012 10:48:00 AM

THACKERVILLE, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says construction work could cause major delays on Interstate 35 at the Oklahoma-Texas border.

Highway officials say all lanes of southbound Interstate 35 will be detoured to a service road about six miles south of the Oklahoma-Texas border at the junction of I-35 and U.S. 82.

The detour begins at 8 p.m. Tuesday and is scheduled to end 7 a.m. Wednesday. Texas crews will be working on a bridge project.

Highway officials say significant delays are possible and traffic could extend back to the Oklahoma border.

Drivers are urged to plan for extra time while making travel plans.

the northbound lanes had the closure last night, I passed it on the way back south and it looked to suck lol. i would definitely do anything other than take southbound 35 at that point.
