Exactly how does a poker player go about getting approved for housing?

I've been looking to stay in Gainseville for 1-2 months or so. Do you have any suggestions for short term living? I just can't seem to find anything there.

hey man

i know u said u wanted gainesville but u would prob have a much

easier time looking in denton, a college town about 40 miles south. I

would think u should have no problem getting a short term rental there

esp during the summer months.

Sorry for the general question but I could be driving through town on my way back home. I can either drive to OKC or add 90min to my drive and go to Winstar. What games would I expect running on a typical Thursday night? I could play 2/5 or 5/10, if I don't go to Winstar I would probably go to Riverwind in Norman and I have a feeling all they will spread is 1/2

I can almost assure you that there will be no 2/5 or 5/10 at riverwind on Thurday night. If so there may be 1! 2/5 table max. Winstar will be your best bet for action for certain on a Thursday Night.

Winstar will have multiple 2/5 games and one or two 5/10 games. Once in a while there is a 10/25 game on a Thursday night but I wouldn't count on it. FWIW, the 5/10 game ran last night (Wed night) until 4am.

The River series is coming up..expect 10/25 and 25/50 to be running at full speed.

When I sat down at the 4/8 half-kill O8 game at Winstar, the dealer told me I could play without posting a blind. However, if the first pot I played was (or wasn't? -- I forget) a kill pot, I would have to post a kill the next hand. Could someone from Winstar clarify this for me, and possibly give an explanation of why this is a rule?

If you play a hand of 4/8 08 and scoop the pot that has $40 or more in it, that is a kill pot. On the next hand you will have to post a half-kill blind. That would apply to ANY hand you play not just the first one. I'm sure the dealer was pointing out that if you win the first pot, event though you are not in the blinds, you will have to post the half kill.

Pretty much standard kill pot rules as I understand them but some rooms may have different rules.

Lot of interesting characters in this room.

The guy that tilts me the most is.............. "Oly Moly" guy.
He keeps abusing players who are little bit slow but players let him have it because he thinks he is world class but is very bad.
Somehow I keep losing pots to him, LOL. May be I am worse than he is.

You're talking about Ernie? Dude is a joke. I love playing with me because my goal, when he's on my table, is to torture him. I think he's got the point now because he always ask for a table change when he sees me on the table.

Dealer Guy...I keep seeing the River Series ads that include Maria Ho. Is she going to be making a personal appearance?
I had a dream that she lost a prop bet to me and I need to find her to "collect"

I didn't scoop the pot. I didn't win any part of it, but I still had to post a kill on my second hand.
I didn't recognize the dealer -- some younger kid with brown hair, and IIRC he is the one that is going to school for/teaching Native American Philosophy.

So you are saying you played one hand which you did not win then you had to post a half kill of $6 to play the next hand. All the players then had to call your $6 bet, fold or raise?

Was all $6 in front of you or did the dealer pull $2 into the center?

Pulled in the center means you missed ur blind..otherwise it seemed strange

Yeah, they are running $125s ...top 3 get $400 in lammers
$185s...top 3 get $600 in lammers

Mega satty $440 buy in (you can buy in these with lammers)
Top 20% get $2100 in lammers...and top 40 finishers get an additional $500 cash (live rakeback FTW!) These run every other sunday.

The only thing you CAN'T use lammers for is the single table sattys...you can't churn them over..but they can be used for the mega sattys

Yes, all $6 was in front of me, and it was a normal half-kill with bets changed to $6-$12 and everyone had to call the $6 or fold.

The first pot I played (without posting) was a kill pot. I didn't win that pot. Two players chopped it. Then, the next hand, according to the dealer, I was the kill because I played in that kill pot without posting.

Everyone is super geeking out about the CPPT over at Choctaw this weekend. Anyone know why this has so much more buzz than The River? People are talking about the cash games they look forward to this weekend the same way they talk about seeing the Lochness monster.
