I left today at 4pm and the jackpot still hadn't hit. I will be up there again tomorrow. Played limit for the first time there and was amazed how bad it was for middle of the day. Its a much better game than the NL ones IMHO. Hey dealer guy send me a PM let me know who you are I would love to meet the legend

That would be me. Was it the fact I was the only person under 30 playing Limit give it away? If your a player I assume you were in Seat 2.

I play often during the summer. I will be up there alot next week. I normally sit at the 2-5 NL tables but I will probably stick with limit for a while as it was entertaining. Didnt even have to concentrate. Also I think you thought I was being a jerk with my not even close response but I wasnt trying to be. Was just being honest with ya. I had pocket pair as well but sadly Kings are better than Jacks. I hated that whole hand but with all under cards on board, couldnt fold it.

Are you asking about the PLO game or the LO8 game?

Both of them run Friday-Sunday, pretty much. Helpful tip: If you go up to the desk, and there's a LO8 interest list, go ahead and ask if the game is actually running and what table it is running on. A lot of times, they'll open the game but not switch the board and so there will be people on the list while there are several open seats.
They are generally more supportive of the 1-2-5 PLO game, and the list will actually reflect what is going on, but it can't hurt to check that as well.

How has the PLO/PLO8 game been? It looks deep. After a big trip out to the Mecca of gambling last week, I may dip my toe in the plow this weekend.

It's not ridiculously deep. I feel like I have enough bullets when I have $400-$500 in front of me. You'll see a few huge stacks, but it seems like the guys that have accumulated them aren't just blasting away with them.

The limit games at Winstar can be surprisingly juicy, as long as you don't get doomswitched/overconfident like I did...

The fun part is, you can even try to explain why you did something that is correct (equitywise) and they just babble on about how you're insane.

See above regarding HORSE. Basically, no. LHE 4/8 is almost always going. LO8 4/8 half kill goes mostly Friday and Saturday.

This might be a weird question, but does anyone know about the low limit games that run from 7AM to 3 or 4PM? Do they have enough people to run games, and are they soft enough to be worth playing? Thanks.

IMO you can't find a low limit game there that is soft enough to consistently beat. Too much 'bingo' in the $4/$8 or if you can find anything lower. I guess if you were as nitty as they come maybe you could average 2 BB's/hr....that might be a stretch though.

Not sure if 4/8 consistently runs throughout the night, but the rake really kills you on that game, especially short-handed. You can really see it late at night, go check out a table, and then go back an hour or two later and it's the same people and everyone is -$40.

1/2nl i'm pretty sure is great 24/7/365 at winstar

Was @ Winstar Saturday night, arrived around 6:30pm. The 1-2 and 2-5 lists were each 20+ names long, but I got a seat in <30 min. From what I could tell, this was the case until I left @ midnight, and probably later.

The guy running the board did an incredible job all night long. I was very impressed with how organized and well run the front desk operation was. A++

I don't think there is much difference between friday and saturday night, saturday may be a bit more busy. The big $440 tournament is friday during the day (starts at noon or 1 I think) so it gets busy pretty early.

Lots of 2/5 games running fri/sat so you should be able to find a good one. Hope that helped. GL.

On Sundays, when they have Mega Satellites going on (like they will this Sunday), cash game action is always crazy (as in crazy good). $2/$5 and $5/$10 will both have tons of action, which is all you can ask for as a poker player.

Anyone have info/experience on comps / reduced room rates at Winstar? I've grinded decent Video Poker machines there a few times and finally have an offer for two free random Sun-Thurs nights in August, but I'm trying to figure out what kind of play they expect to consistently get rooms.

if you work at winstar and you are reading this thread can you please mention to the powers that be that choctow has raised the buy in for 1/2 to $300. Soon winstar will be the only room at 200 max for 1/2 left in oklahoma. IMO the extra 100 helps the game sooooooo much.

Man, is this place packed on weekends. Just played 11am to 5pm, and probably could have auctioned off my parking spot for gas money.

Saw Greg Raymer there, I guess he is promoting their tournament series?

Good action this afternoon at my 1-2 table. I am still pissed that they drop the $1 BBJ on every hand, even though the pot has to be $30 to qualify (I recommend dropping the $1 when the pot hits $30 - this doesn't seem like rocket science to me).

yeah, they do the same thing (instant BBJ $1 drop) at all the chickasha casinos (I think that is the tribe? They run winstar and riverwind). You know what I really wish? so LITTLE of the damn $1 comes back to the player at riverwind at least. I wish I could just sign a form disqualifying me from any BBJ and I could pocket the damn dollar when it is my turn.
