Any chance we could get a regular 5/10 game going?

There's never a list for it except for a couple Friday's ago but they just raised the 5/5 to $1,500 and it often plays deep and sometimes even bigger then the old 5/10 that used to go here on weekends up to about 5 years ago.

I've got myself and 2 other guys that are trying to organize a bigger game there because parx is too far away from us. At least 5/ Tnl or 5/5 PLO if you're interested.

5/5 plo running there again would be awesome
About 5 years ago it was running there a few days a week but died out after a few months.

I’m there most Saturday’s looking to play. If you’re willing to start short handed we can definitely get a game going

New room opened on 12/26. Very nice, 20 tables, cage, waiting area lounge, and non-smoking. Sat pm had 5 2/5NL, 1 5/5NL and 1 5/TNL running.

Table seats are somewhat tighter, extra room for dealers. TV screens should be larger, perhaps move the larger from the old room?

Otherwise, positive reviews.

I've also heard a few players say the seats are tighter, and it did look a little bit tighter in the middle seats (like the cup holders are about a half inch closer together) but there was still plenty of room for 9 players. The new brown felts are one of the best features of the room, but unfortunately the old beat up chairs are still there and some of them get you sea sick because they rock from side to side. Hopefully they'll decide to upgrade them soon then because after a few hours on them they begin to get very uncomfortable.

I don't know what they were thinking about with the sizing of the TV's, I'm pretty sure the old room had all 65 inch TVs and all the seats were closer to the TV in the old room because it was smaller, but they're all still in our old room for the penny slot players to enjoy but maybe someone will decide to swap them all out for us.

Overall I think the room is good and everyone has their own opinion but I would of definitely picked a different wall paper for sure instead of picking one right out of the 70's but I'm not gonna be picky.

Here are some issues/things that I think can be improved:

1. Dealers were sweating on the tables in the back of the room because of low air flow and being too hot back there.
2. The podium is facing the outside of the room in a noisy casino, and supervisors can't hear dealers calling the floor. One immediate fix would be to change the rule of calling over a supervisor every time someone re-buys for over $300 (I don't know if it's a state regulation or a house rule).
3. They should put a sign at the old poker room area with an arrow showing them the room has moved
4. It's not just this room but other rooms I play in with cages - someone signs up for a game, waits an hour for it, then when it's called, they all line up at the cage for chips...purchase chips while you wait it's a lot easier for everyone.

Is the wait still 1+ hours for a game when it's busy or do they have more tables in the new room to cut down on that. My biggest issue with Wind Creek vs Parx is I can only call in like 45 minutes ahead of time(so I don't miss the 1hr cutoff if I have to stop and get gas or bathroom or something otw) vs 2 hours and then the list is so ****ing long I'm waiting an hour or more after checking in.

They do have more tables but it depends on if they have enough dealers. They haven't been at full spread too much even with the long lists but as long as you get in before 11am or so you shouldn't have to wait too long, but coming in after 12 or 1 could result in long wait times. I've also seen a lot of players that normally play in other rooms come to check out the new room so this week into next weekend is gonna be busy so I would just come in as early as possible. Yesterday there were hundreds of people standing outside the new room facing it like they were waiting for a train at Penn Station.

So I went for a few hours today. Sat down around 5:30, left at 10.

Everything previously said about the new room seems spot on. Nice felt on the tables, but the dealer has a ton of room and the players are pretty pushed together.

Wait was very easy, I called in otw about 45 minutes ahead and I sat down after maybe 10 minutes max.

I only play 1/2 here, and it was decent. Lots of straddling and action. I sat down with $400 and cashed out for about $1100.

Overall an improvement compared to the rope off area, but a lot of the little things showed they don't really care. The small TVs are one, and the high hand display was busted as well. They even have the bigger TVs still sitting in the old area, can't believe they didn't just reuse them.

The desk facing the casino floor is so dumb, they could have easily had a glass barrier/door or something and it would have been fine. New table tops but the old chairs. I hear the card machines have been routinely breaking already.

The cage being right there is almost worth it though, very nice. Also for me it's way less in tolls vs Parx so I think I'll continue to go.

So now that the new room is open, I saw a lot of Parx and Borgata regs coming in lately to check it out and the consensus was that everyone likes it (aside from smaller TV's, smaller tables, no food service, and a couple other small tid bits but I'm never one to complain).

However, they've now implemented a must move game for 2/5NL (Sun thru Thurs) which everyone that I know of (except 2 ppl) doesn't like at all. I don't play at RWC which is closer to me because it's a must move game, I prefer to have the option to move out of a bad game (for whatever reason) and most regs that I know agree.

I saw the other day when they opened up a MM game 7 handed with 2 other games going, seats opened up quickly on the other 2 games which left the new MM game 4 handed and it broke, whereas if there wasn't a MM they would still have 3 2/5's going instead of 2, so this doesn't only hurt the players who don't like it, it also hurts the house and the dealers too. I also saw a few players who didn't understand why they were being asked to move to the main game just go home instead. Most of the recreational players around here have never played in or even know what a MM game is so I don't really blame them.

Before the MM game and with the new room open, Wind Creek was competing with Parx and Borgata but now since it has a MM 2/5 game, unfortunately it's no longer in competition with them and those regs who all came to check out the new room will probably stick to their other rooms. Hopefully WC will reconsider this change in the future.

How has the 5/5 been? Is the straddle normally on?

Yes, straddles, blind raises, sometimes it can be crazy and other times it can be nitty and breaks early so you never know but it usually goes on weekends.

The same people who complain about MM games are the ones who want to break 6 handed and who wave their arms to get the floors attention when they're in a main game 3 seconds after someone gets up to fill the seat.

I don't mind playing short at all and I'm always the first one to shut down any thoughts of breaking a game up because we're short. For myself who drives over an hour to play I would drive a little longer where I can change tables if I get stuck in either a bad game or a game of bingo (if you play here you'd know what I mean) or even get seated in a new MM game that soon breaks after people get moved over to the main game because no one wants to play 5 handed anymore (when we could of had two 7 handed games going instead of one game, one dead game and 5 unhappy players).

on behalf of the person who asked me to write this there's not any more a mm game at WCB so for all the 30+ ppl who went home the other day after being forced to move, it's now safe to come back.

So there aren't any tournaments at WC anymore? Anyone with inside info on if/when that might change?

Back when the new room first opened I heard the floor mention they expected to start tournaments back up in February, but haven’t seen any promotional info yet, so I doubt that timeline still holds.

I’m speculating, but I’d expect March or maybe April.

They're starting in Feb, they're already on Bravo.

How's the room these days? I see on Bravo there was a water main break and the cage is closed? I'm looking to play some 2/5 and Wind Creek is like 1/2 the cost in tolls compared to Parx so I'd rather go there if it's still good.

Yeah the cage is closed, no repairs have started yet so we're looking at months/years/if ever (just my guess) but you can buy chips at the table although I go to the main cage to get a couple buy ins and they're also good with color ups lately as well.

The 2/5 is still good, a lot of parx players have been coming in lately but the game is pretty much the same. The only issue is they now have tournaments so if you wanna play 2/5 on a Friday or a Sunday, you have to get there by 9/10am because cash tables will be limited until the tournament tables break later in the day.
