Yes we do. Magazines at the podium or in the magazine rack by table 11.

Thanks for the feedback. We are looking to restructure Saturdays after the Aug DSE events. 25 minute levels possible there and one bigger Saturday buy-in each month.

I was under the impression that Sheldon Adelson was Anti Online Gaming.

"Given our Chairman's clear position on the matter of online gaming, Venetian/Palazzo made a business decision to not allow an online blog during the MSPT event." - Statement from Venetian

Card Player Magazine clearly supports online gaming, even accepts advertising from off shore online sites.

How is it that Poker News is barred from reporting on a live event at Venetian, while Card Player Magazine is distributed for free in a different Sheldon Adelson owned Casino ?

We reached final table by about 5pm. After that it took forever, because shorties had multiple double ups. They were still heads up when I left around 7. FYI to everyone, now that they changed the structure to 25k chips, they removed the 5k guarantee. I think they only hit it once or twice in the past.

That sucks they removed the guarantee. Rather have it the old way than the new personally. Is there anyone that likes the new setup of the Bbj? Every player I talk to hates the separate mega and mini that was put in place.

Because they're hypocritical organization as every big business, and the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. I stopped patronizing Sands because of their antipoker stance. I'll play DS events only where their may be an overlay. If not the $10 or $20 fee won't affect Sands. To pkay their regularly is insane if you're for the expansion of poker. PARX ain't that far guys. Just saying.

FYI discussion of Adelson/online gaming/politics will not be tolerated in the Poker Venues subforum. There are lots of threads in NVG and PL where you can discuss those issues. Please post in the Moderation Discussion Thread or send me a PM if you have questions or comments. Thank you.

I like the current 30 minute levels for Saturday. If you think you have to change it because it has been getting smaller, maybe a compromise would be 25 minute levels for the first 10 levels, then 30 minutes after that. Just a thought. Or, I would even be ok with 20 minute levels for the first 5, then 25 minute levels for the next 5, then 30 minutes starting level 11 (and 40 minutes for the final table?).

I'm not sure that it's the length of the levels. I've played the tourney many times, and don't mind the amount of play. I think it boils down to the number of players for that tourney. I went and played cash and I think they had 34? I realize it's summer and it was a gorgeous day out, but that is the lowest I've seen it.

Of course I realize, everyone has different opinions on the structure. With 70+ people, I imagine it could take quite the amount of time. The only problem that I see, is the length of time it takes versus the return on investment. If the tourney were to take 8+ hours and you win a net of $200, what's the point?

I've played in the tourney earlier this year and it's good when you get the runners. Haven't gone lately because I saw the numbers were dwindling.

Would strongly suggest extending the buy-in time (90 mins late registration is too short; at least go 2 hours) and making it a rebuy.

Last night had only 40 players. More like a sit and go than a tournament. Five of their six weekly tournaments are rebuys. Problem is who wants to rebuy with fields so short. Last night only paid 5 places and fifth place was only 226. To rebuy to something like that would be idiotic.

Some of the new dealers are really bad. Saw a lot of mistakes made.

I was thinking about going out to the Sands Green Chip Bounty tournament tonight. I've never been for one of the tourneys, only cash, so can someone give me a ballpark of how many entrants there normally are and the payout structure? Thanks.

Like pasands said above, a lot of the tourneys are already rebuys. I don't think that's the answer. The Saturday tourney was doing fine before the way it is. Not sure what happened.

It has been hit or miss, unfortunately it is now 5/10 instead of 10/20. It did not go last Friday because I had half the table playing mixed games at home game. If it does go maybe I'll cya there "old hollister"!

Was thinking of taking my 1st ride out to the Sands on Friday to play the 11am deep stack tournament. Is that a R+A tournament?

No it's not. It is a re-entry though. If you bust out within the first three levels you can re-enter and receive the starting stack.

Was the Bbj hit? If yes was it mini or mega? I see there are only 7 tables at 830pm, never saw it that bad for this time.

The mini hit yesterday. I was there this morning, turned $150 into $900 in 2.5hrs and left playing 1/2NL. Some of the guys were talking to the dealer about it hitting.

this mini and mega jackpot poop means I am done playing at the Sands. Poker with all the grinders is depressing anyway.

I agree I used to be a semi regular at the Sands but literally haven't played there in months. Always the same faces at the tables, tough to make any money all the while the rake just drains the table.
