Q's. how does the game run, small player pool I assume and likely tight?
What's the min buy, 2500 or 5k? I assume no max. What do ppl buy in for usually?
All chips or cash (I assume $100's play?)

Have any of you played this game? How have you fared? Next time I go it'll be on a Wed to watch some of this game.

I have played twice - once up and once I finished down. The game plays $1,000 min to $5,000 max.

I have never seen anybody buy in for $1k so roughly half the players buy in for approximately $2,500 and the other half $5k.

Cash does not play. It is a green and black game.

Come and play - it is gaining traction all right. The $10-25 game at the Sands is starting to spread on other days too.

Midas, that's the most insane thing I've ever heard. What 10/25nl player DOESN'T want fresh players?

Don't want people knowing the game exists- to keep it on the DL to KEEP it juicy? That makes zero sense, and is practically an oxymoron.

Perhaps you can explain, i just don't get your statement (no disrespect).

Uhh it makes perfect sense. If you've got a HSNL game with a bunch of regulars who are not pros and just wealthy individuals who want to play every week why would publicizing it to fellow east coast pros make the game softer? Your logic is flawed sir your average random fish is not going to jump at the chance to play 10/25NL.

I'm not saying this is the case because I can not play in that game but I can only imagine it is.

okay so he's worried about the sharks finding out.. that makes sense. If any sharks are anywhere in a AC or PA casino, they surely will have heard about this game.

If most people buy in for $1000, it's not as high stakes as you would imagine. I believe 10/25nl at Borg, cash plays, and 5k is the max buy in (i could be wrong).

I'm pretty sure cash does not play and I do know that 10/25NL is uncapped at the Borgata.

I don't play this limit either but if you search back in this thread you will see certain posters who want this game not publicized. Sands new poker website and the Bravo app make keeping these games secret very difficult.

Most people by in for more than 1K and the 10/25NL at the Borg has only been running Saturdays lately it seems. It used to be a pretty steady thurs-sun. My best guess is the 10-10 at Parx & 10/25 at Sands split up the playerbase a bit.

I've played 10/25 with Michael Phelps at Borgata, there's no cap on the buy-in

This is very correct. I believe on 3 occasions certain posters got angry at others for mentioning the game. In one post a member commented the game runs on a wed bc that is when the fish are available to play.

Bravo poker app announces room to expand to 30 tables in February. No specific date.

I was told President's day (Feb. 20) for the expansion.

And then I was told the first tournament would be on Monday, March 12th at noon.

My reply to that was "what year?"

Lol.

If they are expanding on Feb 20th, you should see some contruction of sorts by Feb 1st.

Just hope they remember to have 3 managers on shift so they can have more than 20 tables open.

I think the floor takes a lot of unnecessary bashing on here. IMO they are doing a great job and have come leaps and bounds from day 1. They added on more tables from the original 11. They have put up an awesome website of all tables running with waits and interests and bbj. They have been extremely receptive to O8 which runs twice a week now. The room is always booming with tons of stakes from 3-6 lhe to 10-25 nlhe. Soon we will also have another 7 tables. I think all in all they are doing great by the players and for the overall room health. Go to mount airy one day and u will appreciate how well the sands is run. Keep up the good work Davey!

The Sands poker room is managed OK. By poker standards.

The issue that is pervasive in the industry is that floorpeople are usually made by promoting dealers and then later they are promoted to supervisor or manager. This is like promoting the head teller at a bank to branch supervisor or manager. Some would do fine, others would fail, but most would do just OK.

Being a great dealer and having a comprehensive knowledge of poker does not necessarily make for a good manager. The poker room manager who has good business sense is a rarity. Those at Sands are OK, but they don't compare to those at better run rooms. Borgata or Parx for example.

+1 - just got my first hotel (sun-thurs) promo maybe they will have a poker rate soon.

I think if they had drop-boxes, it will eliminate floor-dealers from running back and forth and counting up money all day. Why don't they have a drop box? It will free up more floor people to pay attention to other things like if someone's name was called and he doesn't lock up a seat after a couple minutes, call the next name!!
Other than that I love that room... but I wish they had a better food court...I'm getting tired of eating salads (pretty sad when a salad shop is the best choice).

I did notice when I book a room on their website while logged into my acc't, the rates are lower... I never played anything except for poker.

Senior floor dude tonight stated $100 buy-in tournaments on Monday and Tuesday mornings. That's all that is planned so far.
