It's pretty crappy, I think it's something like $1/hr, then again you are only playing 20-30 hands an hour at best at times it seems...

It is .70 an hour for all games in poker room. Does anyone know if O8 is being spread there right now yet?

When did they increase it? Last I knew it was $0.50.

I only heard it to be $1/hr from the dealers, but that was some weeks/months ago.. that .70 would be news to me. Do you think the poker room changes it based on the overall profit/action that the tables and players bring?

When the room opened it was .50c / hour, it's been .70c / hour for a few months now.

Played on Dec 31st in the late afternoon / early evening. Good play, then switched to a new 6/12LHE table - that I've been waiting to play at since the expansion... Got spanked and moved back to a 1/2NL table.

It was nice to see one of the 5 finalist for the car drawing come from the poker room for a change. He didn't win the car but got a grand anyway.

My table last night was so dull and empty that we were 6-8 handed quite a bit and even had half rake going for quite some time last night.. but there was at least 1 5/5 game going that I know of, full table and all.

So I asked the floor to give me the 10 hrs. They said it could be a few weeks. I asked how much and they said it was $0.70 but going up to $1.25 in December.

I guess the comp $ never changed... and btw, 10 weeks later I never got my 10 hours.

I'm looking for current info on whats going on at the Sands. Went to Mt airy sunday, last time i will ever go there. Just wondering how the poker is at the sands.

Are there tournaments at the sands yet?
How often does an omaha game run?

Thanks in advance to anyone that replies with answers

After reading that story, I had to double check the thread title to make sure I had not stumbled into the Showboat thread by mistake.

Tournaments are supposed to be coming sometime in February, AFAIK. I don't think there has been an official date announced yet. I played at the Sands a couple nights during Christmas week, and different dealers seemed to give conflicting answers when asked when exactly tournaments would begin.

You did sort of. Alot of the Poker room staff worked at Showboat.

I know you're new, but read the last 2-3 pages and you'll have an idea of what's going on.

23 tables, 1/2NL, 2/5NL, 3/6LHE on the regular, 5/5NL, 5/10NL go a few times a week, 4/8O8 and 5/10O8 have been going pretty regularly, 6/12LHE has gone a few times and 5/10Stud has gone at least once. Obviously you'll have a better time getting an O8 game going on weeknights or weekends than the middle of the day.

Tournaments aren't happening yet, last I spoke with Dave they would be early part of March and he's looking to do MTT, not just 1 table SNGs.

Out of curiosity, why won't you go back to Mt. Airy?

Mt Airy is terrible card room but also has terrible players....so that is a plus.

I was playing one night and got up for a smoke and bathroom run. When I got back I noticed that my seat # on the Bravo system was blinking. I didn't say anything at first because I didn't want to come off as "that cheap guy", however after about 10 minutes I said something to the dealer and he told me that it didn't matter, the blinking light is only there so we know how long you were away from the table.

I still don't believe him, and after reading this post I really don't believe him..

The blinking light temporarily clocks you out while your away from the table. When you get back remind him if he doesn't after a couple hands to clock you back in by tapping the button.

FWIW, the only time I haven't had comp dollars instantly assigned to my card after leaving a table is when I play between two days, i.e., over midnight. It then takes a little bit longer before they show up on your card. I have always made it a habit to check my card in a slot machine when leaving the casino.

I played from 10am-8pm.. and I checked it before I left. I went to the floor just 5 minutes later... I mean do we have to double check with the dealer that we got the full hours of credit before we get up.

It's the one bad thing about having dealers clock you in/out.

Sands is about a 30-45 minute drive closer than AC to me which is a plus.

I found the dealers to all be nice, although some were clearly novices. The room was kind of empty though (I did go play from Sunday 11PM -Monday 7AM so that time slot doesn't seem to be the busiest out of all the possible times during the week)

Two things that freaked me out were that some of the dealers were inducing action, "Come on, make it 6 blind" etc. (not used to this) And how exposed cards are handled with, (instead of deal around, and hand them the burn they appear to just deal them a new card on the spot and continue dealing)

Not a big deal, but I noticed that 2 dealers did it so I assume its just a cardroom rule.

My 2/5 table had good action, but it was like 4-6 handed constantly so I moved to a 1/2 table once a few guys busted out.

Yes I think the rule there is you get the next card right away. I agree you should get the burn card to preserve the original deal but what can you do about it.

There was a fight in the food court tonight next to the poker room area. Make sure you guys bring your brass knuckles just in-case. I wonder if the fight was over the fact that Sands is only comping poker players $.70/hour at the poker tables? And yes, a dealer did mention to someone else tonight that the comp rate is currently at 70 cents/hour.

I plan on being at the Sands tonight around 7pm. Would love to get an omaha8 game going.

Anyone interested? 4/8, 5/10, 8/16 is fine with me.
