Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone has information on the new electronic poker room at Western Fair. I want to know what limits they spread, how busy the games are, how much action there is, etc.....

Thanks in advance.

I went and tried it out. They currently are only spreading 1-2NL, but are seeking approval for higher stakes and PLO. They only have 3 tables right now.

It was mostly nitty old people there. Action kinda sucked. The bartender wouldn't let me buy doubles. The waitress cut me off after 4 drinks.

Hey,

I'm one of the "poker hosts" in the London room.

To address your concerns.

Depends on what day you go for action. Weekends are generally really good.

The poker room runs true no limit poker, not a spread limit like nearby Point Edward or fixed like Brantford which generally helps the game!

The bartender was following standard OLG rules. No casino or slot facility in Ontario allows doubles. I was a server at one point, and trust me, I heard a lot about this. Haha.

ANYWAY. As for the poker end

We now offer 1/2 NL, 2/5 NL (max buy in 200) and every once and awhile will be running a 5/10 NL (Max buy in 1000). We also have our pot limit Omaha set up at .50/1.00 but are looking into upping that to 1/2, and should be running it Thursday nights.

2/5 on request, but we'll be actively pushing a list for Fridays.

We'll also offer 2/4 and 4/8 Omaha hi lo, if anyone should request it.

The system operates just like any other poker table, the house just taking a 1- percent rake to a max of 5 dollars.

Our hours are weekdays from 3-430 am and friday at 3pm through to monday at 4 am 24 hours a day.

I hope this was an adequate update about what's going on in our room

I must of been sleeping when I wrote that.

2/5 max buy in 500, 10 percent rake to max of 5 bucks on all stakes.

Headed to London this weekend, had a few questions. Does it still only have 3 tables? How long is the average wait time? How long before arriving can you call ahead?

had to wait about half an hour and then they had enough of a waitlist to start a 2nd table. both tables were 1/2. $50-$200 buy-in. there seemed to be a decent amount of regs, but wouldn't say any of them were particularly good.

i guess they run 2/5 if there is enough demand.

i'll go back. overall was a good atmosphere.

Anyone been here recently? Same games/amount of tables/max buy ins? I'll be there later this month to check it out.

Was just there last night, they had 3 tables of 1/2 going with a list for 2/5 though didn't see it get off the ground while I was there. From what it seems there's a good vibe in the room, but not a lot of casual players.

Their system of needing to sign up for a players card, then get a poker card, then load/unload money from the poker card I think stops a lot of people from just casually donating $50-100. The host at the desk should be able to just take cash and put them at the table, I think there would be a lot more walkin traffic that way.

Also of note, in case there are any hosts still reading this thread, it was a Friday night and I was there for a couple hours and never once saw a waitress. Had to go to the bar myself twice for beers - although the self service drink station at the back is handy for pop and coffee.

Is anybody interested in going to the Western Fair satellites any Saturday to the $1,000 tournaments at Point Edward Casino? At least ten players are required for the satellite to run.

Seems like there isnt any action other than 1/2 NLHM on the electrionic tables. Gets good Thursday Friday Saturday maybe Sunday. The tournament Western Fair District hosts on Sundays is not usually a full 30 players.
I'm from Toronto and I'm used to steady 2+ table tournaments daily and 4-20 table tournaments on Friday and Saturday at multiple locations, and I cannot find a real game around here since I started studying at Fanshawe.
I want chips and cards, not tap tap revolution.
Someone PM me if you run/can get me in on a home game/B&M in London,ON.
Please provide me details on your game or how to contact you so this doesn't drag on.
May all your cards be live and your pots be monsters! - Sexton
