There was basically open seating all day yesterday and the room was never full. Word was the 1/3 match was 'the worst ever' but, IMO, they seemed to be having fun just chatting it up waiting for 'opportunities'. I'm not sure how this is sustainable and is certainly an indication that there will not be a BBJ in the near future. Every payout is a net loss to the promo fund of at least $400 IMO and the room is noticeably 'not' full during the non-HH hours. I'm sure there's some math involved and depending on how the promotional fund language is written they may 'have to' give the funds back so there's not 'too much' in there.
Agreed that this is definitely +EV for players. I was at GLC last night, and the final $2000 in high hand bonuses only had 4-5 tables running to try to win it. At that point, they are paying you like $25 of EV per hour (minus a few bucks in extra rake) to play, plus the other promos for a Royal/Straight Flush/Quads, plus the $2 an hour in rewards credits. I hadn't played live poker since before covid and have played 3 times now in the past month or so just because this is so juicy and fun.
Does make for pretty tight, nitty games preflop though, at least in the times I've been there.
