$1K High Hands at GLake today and next Wed/Thur .. 2pm-11pm .. Lots of discussion on whether or not this is good for the room and Player pool. There is a noticeable drop off in volume, but that very well may be a result of tax season being over and the weather changing. I don't believe they had all 8 tables going at the same time yesterday despite plenty of Dealers on site. PLO did go .. was converted to 1/3 match and ran at less than a full table most of the day/evening. The 1/3 NL match game looked good too.

$1K High Hands at FKeepers Friday and in two weeks on Friday. 1pm-2am
Flop/Turn/River Quad Bonus also next Wed. 1pm-9pm

WSOPc events have been going on at Grand Victoria in 'Chicago' .. $1700 ME Day 1A is today

4 week countdown to MSPT at FKeepers starts today

WGate had a record turnout for the $125 'First Thursday' tournament last week. Heard they had 6 tables going .. not sure on cash games as my schedule hasn't put me in that room for a few weeks. GL

Gun Lake going all out on High Hands!!

$1k today 2pm-11pm

Mon-Thur next week .. $1k 2pm-11pm .. two extra days added for the Regs!
Sat/Sun next week .. $500 Noon-11pm .. weekend warriors get some rake back!

There was basically open seating all day yesterday and the room was never full. Word was the 1/3 match was 'the worst ever' but, IMO, they seemed to be having fun just chatting it up waiting for 'opportunities'. I'm not sure how this is sustainable and is certainly an indication that there will not be a BBJ in the near future. Every payout is a net loss to the promo fund of at least $400 IMO and the room is noticeably 'not' full during the non-HH hours. I'm sure there's some math involved and depending on how the promotional fund language is written they may 'have to' give the funds back so there's not 'too much' in there.

FireKeepers will fill in the gap next week with $1K HH Friday from 1pm-2am.
April also has 5 Sundays .. so the $500 will take place at Noon on April 30th
May brings MSPT and FK is running Qualifiers and Satellites every day staring May 1st 12:15/6:15

SEagle and 4Winds both have some weekday promos as well. GL

Agreed that this is definitely +EV for players. I was at GLC last night, and the final $2000 in high hand bonuses only had 4-5 tables running to try to win it. At that point, they are paying you like $25 of EV per hour (minus a few bucks in extra rake) to play, plus the other promos for a Royal/Straight Flush/Quads, plus the $2 an hour in rewards credits. I hadn't played live poker since before covid and have played 3 times now in the past month or so just because this is so juicy and fun.

Does make for pretty tight, nitty games preflop though, at least in the times I've been there.

Monday HH at GLake were 'OK' (for a Monday) .. The highest activity I saw was at 6 tables around 7pm. The 1/3 match didn't run very long as it was off Bravo by 9pm with 5 tables running. I called at 11pm and they were in OT with $2000 up for grabs.

PLO never got going with only 2 on the list at the times I looked and PLO was off the board by 7pm.

No word on how WGate did last night with Mon/Tue being their busiest days .. but I've not been there since Feb. GL

Nothing on Bravo for next week yet .. just the Weekend $500 HH Promo Sat and Sun.

Room was not full yesterday .. There was a $3k payout before I got there. One had hit with 2 minutes to go. Wed saw some drama as a King High SF hit and on the very next table a Queen High was tabled the very next hand (at least he won $75 for 'made hand' lol) .. However I think the poker gods helped him out later as I think he was the Player that won $1k when it went to Sudden Death after 11pm. PLO was on Table 4 and the Brushes paid for it as they had to make the 'long' walk to the cage many times!

Full weekend of poker at Firekeepers with HH today and $500 on Sunday. Then full blast MSPT mode for two weeks.

Don't forget that next Thursday will be the $125 at Westgate as the 1st Thursday event. GL

MSPT week is here! Enjoy as I wont be able to play the tournament for sure, if even any cash due to other obligations that popped up. It will be interesting to see if Mother's Day has an affect on the overall entries. I think the larger factor will be the presumed much shorter wait between bullets with all the extra tables in play.

I was told that they will be using 8-10 tables in the cash room for the tournament, so roughly 45 or so tournament tables, mostly staffed by hired tournament Dealers. The tournament will also be hand-shuffle at least until Sunday afternoon when they can condense into the poker room tables.

Gun Lake is offering $1K Hourly High Hands Wed/Thur .. 2pm-11pm. It was recently found out that you don't need $20 in the pot to win this promo, but you do need $20 in the pot to win the Made Hand Promos.

I thought about heading to King's Sat evening but I got no phone answer and no response to a text. So I kept going on down to GLake and played a 'very nice' 1/3 match NL game that wasn't overly nitty but still fairly tight. I think this game has the biggest swings as far as action of any other stake in that room.

I guess there's a possibility of the GLake room moving later this year. I've not really checking things out but supposedly there's a construction wall of which High Roller renovation may or may not be taking place. There has been consistent 'suit' presence in the room more than ever before as well.

The honeymoon is over, it's Spring, it's MSPT time and tax season is over .. all of this has an effect on Player attendance. GL

Good start to MSPT at FK .. 69 out of 580 entries bagged and will continue to be in play on Sunday Day 2. They hit the hard stop at 69 with 13 minutes to go in Level 16, so that's where the other flights will stop unless they trim their fields more quickly.

Cash games looked good on Bravo.

Sunday FK will have $1000 Hourly High Hands from 11am-8pm. I would've gone with 30min $500 since lots of Players will be playing cash while they wait for friends to bust the tournament and typically they want to get on the road very quickly after the bust out. Shorter periods may press the action a bit with that in mind .. who knows?

GLake was pretty busy with HH going yesterday .. no PLO for the 2nd day in a row but a 1/3 NL match game did break out. GL

Pretty quiet week as far as promos go .. but 1/2 has been smokin' no matter where Players are going!

NEXT (Memorial Day) Monday FKeepers will have $1K Hourly High Hands from 11am-8pm. They will also return the 'Hot Seat' promo at 3, 5, 7 and 9pm. This is where a table/seat is chosen in Bravo and that Player will receive $500 and all the other Players logged in 'at that table' at that time will receive $250 each. You will notice that the HH promo will have expired at 8pm while they try to entice Players to stick around for the hot seat at 9pm.

With Sunday being the 28th, not 29th .. there is no $500 tournament at FK this week .. next opportunity for that will be July 30th! GL

FKeepers was very busy yesterday .. lots of HH and Hot Seat chasers. Looked like 3-4 2/5 tables popped up due to the long 1/2 list.

FK will host a $450 Black Chip Bounty this coming Sunday at Noon .. 30k .. 30min levels .. last tournament before WSOP?

GLake changed PLO to 1/3 from 1/2 .. mainly just so the blinds are the same whether it's a match game or not. Players are supposed to (must) be able to adjust their stacks if the game changes. We'll see how each Floor works thru this. The BI is still 1-500. GL

Michigan is off to a very good start in Vegas ..

1) Couple of MI Players still in the TOC, including a GL Reg
2) Player has made Day 2 in the $5K RxR event
3) 3-4 'Casino' employees cashed in that event .. with a Dealer from Columbus, OH making the FT
4) I've seen some MI names in the $1M Bounty as well

Don't forget that FKeepers will host the Black Chip Bounty on Sunday .. GL

Very good visit to King's Room Sunday night. Cash had dropped down to one table when the tournament started (4 tables) but overall things seemed pretty normal.

I didn't check Bravo to see how the Black Chip went at FK .. anyone know?

With WSOP ramping up there will be a few Players missing here and there, but I think rooms will settle back into normal Summer traffic now that MSPT has cleared out.

High Hands at GLake .. $500 30 minute this Thursday, June 8th, 330-11pm .. $1000 next Wednesday, June 14th, 10am-9pm

Michigan has a nice advantage in the TOC due to having so many extra qualifiers from WSOP.com being legal here

Double dip $1000 Hourly High Hands today .. both GLake and FKeepers kick them off at 10am and go into the evening/night hours.

FKeepers will start a $300 HH bonus Mon thru Wed all of July next week.

FKeepers BBJ has been decimated down to below 10k with a couple of hits lately .. We'll see how aggressive they get with the promos to keep the traffic up thru the rest of the Summer.

Action has been outstanding at all of the charity rooms in WMich as of late. Do what's best for your schedule, but even with some of the Players in Vegas .. and less tables .. the tables that are running have been excellent action. GL

Not much 'Michigan' excitement in Vegas that I've come across. Cash games are super good with most coming home a winner. Still time to fly out there and plop down 10k for the ME this week!

GLake has no announced promos as of this moment .. they are posting the Promo Fund balance on the Bravo screen in the room .. nice!

FKeepers is taking care of their late night (11pm-2am) Players in July with High Hands and Hot Seats .. See Bravo. They are also offering Quad bonuses all month with the payout depending on Flop/Turn/River. Also if you 'single card' Quads you will get $100. The BBJ was devastated with it being hit twice in short order in June .. now sits at less than 15k.

SEagle has some interesting promos as well .. they had lots of Saturday traffic in June and want more of it with the nice weather for folks to make that drive

SBend has all kinds of promos .. almost too many .. check out Bravo to see if you can figure out what will apply for the day you want to go there. I think they have a Quad/Quad BBJ but they don't say .. the 'consolation' BBJ is Quads losing to a SF.

Rivers by O'Hare is still the place to go in Chicago IMO .. make the extra drive past Hammond! .. GL

Westgate took this week off .. But they will (from what I've heard) hold their 'First Thursday' tournament this coming Thursday (13th). Pretty sure that it's a $125 or $150 and usually gets around 40-50 entries. I've heard pretty good things about the structure, but obviously they need to get done and WILL do a chip count chop if it comes down to it.

Westgate cash is typically very good with the now $500 cap BI. Certainly a table is going by 3pm M-Wed with a 2nd table usually following. I've seen as much as 4-5K on one table if the 'right' Players show up. Thursdays have been a struggle but they do get a cash game going .. best to call/text 616-802-0205 to get the day to day information. You can text in your list request at any time for any day.

My limited intel indicates that the dust created by Fast Jackson's 'take over' will fizzle out with basically no legal fireworks to speak of.

King's room seems to be 'status quo' with 1-2 cash tables before the tournament and usually a whopper of a cash table during the tournament. I think the tournament is down a table or two but the Player Pool is pretty much unaffected by the Supplier change or GLake's influence. I believe the restaurant does have 'another' new operator but the menu and smells seem to be the same.

After how many years of poker? I have 'finally' played a couple of sessions in Muskegon at Northway Lanes. Nice place, smaller than King's but they did have a 2-3 table tournament and a PLO game going on the two Sundays I was there. I think their MO is that cash only gets going after the tournament, but this PLO game has been running some of the time as well as long as the right Players show up. I have no information as to how Thur-Sat goes or times of operation, but if you're looking for something different or are at the beach for the day then definitely take a peek. Food is decent except you have to pay for water! I'm not sure what the 'house' phone number is and I'm not handing out the Supplier's phone number here. You also will see a very familiar face as a long time female Westgate Dealer is still pitching cards at this location. GL
