Thanks I was being a little exaggerative with the 20 hands per hour. My bad. I'll check out that locator!

Remember that starting Friday that there will be $70 Qualifiers at Noon and $265 Satellites every day leading into next Thursday's Day 1A of the MSPT at FKeepers. Sattys start at 615 EXCEPT Sunday when it starts at 415.

Westgate continues to evolve .. new/different felt, new chairs, bar service at 2 instead of 4, new card and chips. But as of this morning they don't have any charities scheduled for Memorial Day or beyond. That doesn't mean that licenses aren't in process, it just means they aren't locked in yet. Make sure you check with the room or the state Millionaire Party Locator to be sure they are open when you want to play.

Quick session at King's Friday showed two tables running at 345 and we got a 3rd going for about an hour before the switch over. Plenty of rumors over the status of that room as well, but it's been that way for many years now and has stayed on course throughout. GL

Not the best news .. nor the worst either .. but GLake has dropped off the Bravo App poker room listings this week. I had noticed that Poto in Milwaukee had dropped off the other day as well. Bravo could very well be cleaning house of inactive rooms and/or those rooms let their 'membership' with Bravo lapse.

Quick Friday session at King's .. two strong tables but the very small window for PLO was slammed shut as verbal commits folded quickly when called upon to act.

Tipping at King's is back to cash only as of Friday as well. It very well could change week to week in each room based on the number of workers the charity has available. Gaming has their agents working over the charities pretty hard and one of the enforcement issues is 'idle' chips on the table. Westgate had a worker at each table snagging each chip as it was tipped. Whereas I like the idea that 'all' the chips remain in play, I do feel this will lower the tips in the long run.

With GLake dropping off Bravo it may trigger more interest in charity poker rooms in our area .. there is always talk that a room in Holland would go over well and I believe there was one in Plainwell also. Not sure the status of charities in the Traverse City area, but why not get a room going up there now that Turtle Creek has shut down. There's got to be some local interest, eh? The hard part would be getting tourists to show up in the Summer with the limits on advertising .. unless the Location was just right in front of the waterfront somehow. GL

I would be interested in a room in Holland. I think it would go over very well. There used to be a "bizarre" dealer's choice game at the VFW, but I do not know if it it still runs. I have not been to since the pandemic shut down.

Not going to happen. There was a short lived room at Plainwell Lanes about 10 years ago.

MSPT week at FKeepers .. Word is that Thursday is already over 200 entries. They may have 36 tables but maybe not 36 Dealers on Thursday. Typically Fri/Sat are fully staffed right at Noon.

Tough to pick a way to play. If you bust there will be a loonngg wait to re-enter for sure. But late Reg goes all the way to just past 9PM.

There is a 40 min dinner break after Level 9 otherwise the 10 min breaks after 3 levels is not a lot of time. GL

Good showing for WMich after Day 1A at FKeepers. 73 of a (Thursday) record 615 advanced to Day 2 on Sunday. 'We' have 2 Players in the top 10 and a few more on that list as well .. so good luck to them as they probably need to survive 1-2 hours on Sunday to get a min-cash.

Word was that they wouldn't even take names for cash until 4pm, but action must've been really high as it looked as if late regs could just walk into a seat after about 3 hours. So cash got started by 415 and they got quite a few games going. They were limited a bit since they ran a Turbo Satty at 830 and still had about 12 ME tournament tables going at the same time.

Reports had both charity rooms pretty slow yesterday .. no real surprise there. GL

There's been lots of chatter about WSOP at the tables. So yes, there's going to be 'a lot' of WM representation in Vegas this Summer. Anywhere from '2 weeks on, 1 week off' patterns to just 3 day trips. Air fare is creeping up right now, but I don't really see a shortage of hotel rooms along the strip.

With the latest news about combined internet player pools, you may very well be able to win a WSOP bracelet in your jammies this year. I've not been playing any online since live reopened but may consider it with my Summer schedule and gas expenses rising.

Speaking of online poker/betting .. A local Player has apparently won a ME seat via the wsop.com App by just entering a promo code upon sign up. Certainly a bit cautious when you get an email like this, but it appears to be legit. This Player was scheduled to be in Vegas this week anyway, so they will be able to talk to Horseshoe-LV (old Bally's) and get all the details in person (hopefully).

Lots of 'decent' success in the MSPT with quite a few cashes. I think the best finish in my closest poker circle was low 30s for about 8k. It looks like the Lansing area got the better of us with 5+ finishes in the top 40. Overall there wasn't much 'dust' coming out of FK .. other than the usual 'they could do so much better if .. ' type of comments. Which, IMO, they could do more but they've always been 'controlled' growth and need the staff and commitment from the rest of the facility to 'do more'. At a minimum they are missing out on thousands in cash game rake. But if you were setting records most every time you hold an event how much criticism do you really deserve?

I think charity cash has slowed down quite a bit the last month or so, especially during the day. Combination of 'the world' opening back up, tax season being over and the weather getting better each week.

The 'official' word out of Gun Lake is that there's no official word .. boring. But poker has been discussed and they have been keeping the pulse of poker staff as to whether or not they would return if poker were to return.

Soaring Eagle has hired a Poker Manager who is trying to get the room opened back up 'soon'. The word was that they would have 'poker only' staff but like most 'service' businesses finding, and then keeping, staff is the issue. I don't think they will take off like a rocket but you never know. GL

Forgot to remind that this Sunday is a 5th Sunday of May .. so the $500 tournament is on the agenda at FKeepers.

Westgate is NOT showing an event for Monday .. only Tue-Thur next week .. (they could've tried a Friday maybe?)

King's is showing a full slate of events this weekend, which is standard for most any holiday weekend. GL

Word is a little over 300 made it to the FKeeper 500 on Sunday .. with at least one local cash.

FKeeper's is also having another $1000 HH promo this Thursday from 11AM (really 10AM) thru 8PM. There were 2-3 Royals the last time they held this event .. Royal bonuses paid on top of HH. GL

So .. There's no poker at Westgate this week .. AND .. there's no licenses listed going forward. I was informed of the 'issue' for this week, but not that it was an epidemic going forward. I expected some bumps in the road when the transition first started but it's been 'long enough' for things to be back into normal. Of course you never know what's going on with the charity's paperwork at the Gaming level. I've heard of no 'action' being taken against the new Supplier either. But for there to be no approved events at all means this is deeper than just one charity not following through with Gaming.

It's really too bad since WGate had a very successful Thursday 'high roller' tournament with 38+ entries .. not sure, but I think it was a $150 entry.

I've not had any time to go to King's very much, so no real scoop from that location .. although one would have to assume that if WGate falls off then the day games will pick back up to where they were earlier this year.

WSOP has started in Vegas but I've not really studied the 'Updates' too much. Of what I have looked at there's not much going on for Michigan just yet. Our local 'high roller' has made it to the final 15 in the $25K NL. I would assume that this event would be streamed by PokerGo when it reaches FT. They do offer some '1st hour' coverage on YouTube for some events as well .. good luck BS.

I've heard good things about WSOP.com in Michigan .. other than it can be cumbersome to 'get approved' to play. But once you are in, you're in. As with all the Apps, you really need to have a good 'location' for the Apps to work well. I think all 'these' companies went super cheap/thin on the App side for some tech reason that I wouldn't know about. I've yet to really hear a horror story about playing on a laptop type device, but I'm sure it's happened. I've yet to search, but there may be threads on 2+2 that are site specific, like the PStars one. GL

PS .. Not that I don't mind the sound of my own voice .. but give a 'like' on this post if there's anyone actually reading these. I'm not really into posting an online diary of sorts, but if this isn't really helping anyone then I can effort somewhere else.

Well, our local Player made it onto the PokerGo stream last night and ended up in 5th place after being part of a double knockout hand where his AJ hit the Flop but couldn't fade hearts/gutter on the River. Big score for almost 13x the 25k entry fee! Was it enough? No way, he jumped right into the 50k NL tournament and has an above average stack coming back later today. Entry is still open until they start today so he wont know what the target is to cash two in a row until then.

Westgate is apparently breaking in some new charities and there have been some bumps in the road getting their paperwork thru Gaming .. As indicated here before, search for Millionaire Party Locator and you should be able to figure out where charity poker is played all over Michigan.

FKeepers jumps right back into 'high level' tournaments this Sunday with a $450 Black Chip Bounty. One of the last times this was held the winner collected 22 bounties on the way to an un-chopped victory. BBH is just under 200k and the Royals are all around 1500 or above

Motor City is holding their monthly $300 tournament this Saturday as well .. 23k up top last month with 381 entries. They also have a 'hole card' bonus and some HH promos.

MGM also has a variety of HH promos that start by 10AM or so depending on the day including some up to $1K .. 20-60 minute windows.

Don't forget about South Bend .. Hot Seats on Thursdays and HH on Fridays along with the Q v Q BBJ. They do have some table games now as well at that Four Winds location.

If you want to check out new rooms. Both Indianapolis and 'Chicago' (The Rivers) have new poker rooms. Indy is a Horseshoe property and that 'town' has plenty to do to fill any weekend. The Rivers has added a 20 table poker room 'just' west of O'Hare airport but the lists are very long. So if you want to play there make sure it's 'day' play unless you are a slot/pit person as well. There are rumors at both properties about bringing in WSOPc and WPT events. GL

There's a very good chance our local high roller (chip leader) will be on PokerGo again tonight in the $50k NL Event #12 Final Table. They're down to 6 but wont go live until one more is eliminated. The timing might be weird since they are starting at 6pm EST but the stream isn't scheduled to start until 8pm. So if there's a quick elimination it's unclear (to me) what will happen. There's usually at least a 30, if not 60, minute delay on the stream.

Great showing by a couple of Detroit area Players in the $500 Event #5 who made it through 20,080 entries for top 40 finishes .. including a $113K 7th place finish! There were over 1 Billion chips on the Final Table!

With some HR PLO tournaments set on the WSOP schedule in the next 5 days or so hopefully we can continue to see some high finishes from Michigan in 'big' events. There's plenty of MI Players either already in Vegas or scheduled to go. Not everyone is looking at WSOP events as there's a MSPT event at The Venetian going on right now .. and the Wynn/Aria always have tournaments going on as well.

I'll keep checking for Westgate progress for next week, but nothing showing as of 10AM today. GL

Westgate does show a scheduled event for next week .. hopefully more events are approved and listed so things can get back to normal.

The HR Final Table on PokerGo (It was free on YouTube for the 1st hour) showed some really good poker for about 4 hours last night. 'Our' Michigan man was able to get through multiple chip leader changes and ended up losing the last two hands of the night to finish 2nd for over $800K. The 2nd to last hand was a bold 'blocker' v 'blocker' confrontation where both Players made decisions based on 'card elimination' .. just bad timing for our guy that his (controversial) opponent had his exact holding or the bluff would've worked.

The WSOP.com website is full of information if you want to scroll and search for it. Even the results from various tournaments from WSOP.com in Michigan, which actually shows Player names instead of screen names.

Unfortunately there's been some Covid Tweets that I've been seeing coming out of Vegas. Hopefully these are fairly isolated cases and the Dealers stay safe. Otherwise the whole town could become a mess in a hurry!

We should see our HR PLO champ in Vegas for the 1st time today. so as the HR NL events chill out for bit, the PLO guys have today and a Monday to risk some bricks.

Don't forget about the 'regional' tournaments Sat and Sun this weekend .. GL

Don't forget that Westgate is back in session today at 2pm. Still nothing for next week, but I'm sure they're still working on it at Gaming.

Not sure when I looked (2-3pm?), but the Black Chip at Fkeepers was around 170, so more than a normal Sunday for them.

There was a bit of 'Michigan' results at the WSOP over the weekend, but I really didn't look too hard. Another shot at PLO 'fame' today in the 2nd HR event and there's a GR person who has a decent stack in the Deepstack event, but with 2-3 days to go in that one lots can change.

I tell you what .. there's a lot of good poker in Commerce Township Michigan. I don't know if it's deep pockets for firing bullets or what, but they are deep in tournaments every year at WSOP. It's a bit of a drive to the Detroit casinos, so it may be home games .. but a head nod to that area of the state so far as we cross into the 29th of 88 events as of today, Monday.

I didn't look at Motor City on Saturday, so I'm not sure how that tournament went, but they do post some stats on their Bravo App page. GL

A Westgate regular will be playing for at least $300k today on PokerGo at 8pm. He's the short stack (9bb) at the five person FT of the 1500 BI Millionaire maker. If he can run really well (he already has) .. there's 1.1M for the winner .. GL

Although I wasn't able to see every hand I do believe that 'our' Player was able to chip up just a little but was just card dead in the first couple of orbits and ultimately lost his chips when a big stack called down his all-in with J8 and made two pair on the River for a 5th place bust out .. Not that 300K is peanuts, but there was about a 90K pay jump just to get to 4th!

There was a little bit of WM life in the PLO event this week and there 'should' be a lot of seniors playing in that event this week as well. Some huge tournaments coming up with the 250K NL, 50K PPP and the ME really not too far away.

It appears that WGate is still 'week to week' with charities .. next week is all set, but July 4-7th is still open and beyond.

The BBJ appears to have hit at FKeepers, but the current 147K pot still qualifies for room share. A Jackson Player lost with quad 6s and won 77K recently. It's possible that the BBJs also hit at MGM and Motor City as well since they look a bit low on Bravo right now. GL

A Player with ties to North Muskegon saw his team finish 2nd in the WSOP Tag Team event last night.

Westgate does have a charity for next week .. Tuesday-Thursday .. Nothing on Monday the 4th or the week after as of yet. I'm sure they're doing what they can with Gaming to get licenses lined up.

FKeepers BBJ is 150K, Heart Royal is over 8k with Spades not too far behind .. Never too early to plan as July has 5 Sundays in it for another $500 opportunity.

Motor City BBJ must have hit? It's only 70K .. Their 'monthly' $300 is Saturday July 9th

MGM seems happy with cash, offering various HH promos throughout the week.

More and more WM Players are making their way to Vegas some trying to play their way into the 10K ME even. It's such a long stretch of time, especially if you end up playing Day 1A. SonMoney has started a 'daily' trip report on this site if you want to follow along for the next week or so.

In a VERY long term planning item, it appears that the WSOPc will return the the Horseshoe Hammond in 2023 as well as two more 'series' at the Grand Victorian on the other side of Chicago. From all indications, The Horseshoe is a mess, but they are plowing forward somehow. While WSOPc typically has a group of traveling Dealers, can you imagine being told that 'our' cash games don't run on weekends when you show up to play a tournament event and bust? Horseshoe Indy had indicated that they will push for Circuit Series, but it appears they may not be ready as of yet.

Remember that Westgate IS OPEN today, tomorrow and Thursday this week. Still working on next week as of this morning, but the week of July 18th is set up.

Pretty quiet start to the WSOP $10K Main Event for Michigan. With two Day 1s completed I don't think I saw more than 10-12 names from Michigan listed going to Day 2. But Ryan Reiss is among those names, so the previous champ is still alive. The did change the schedule so that Day 1C players don't get a day off anymore and will combine with A and B players. They are anticipating a huge crowd for Day 1D and will probably play 10- handed as a result to maximize the entries. If you want to skip all that you can enter straight into either Day 2 through the first 4 hours and get in with 60BB.

Lots of events going on all over and I know there's a lot of Michigan players in Vegas, so we'll see if anyone pops up in the next few days. As I've said before, there must be a group of players from Commerce Township that push each other via home games or other as that particular location in Michigan is listed in lots of 'survivor' postings at WSOP.com.

Pretty decent action at King's, especially the one evening session I was able to make it there. A little slow for the 2nd table on Friday surprisingly but overall 'business as usual'. The restaurant finally has a 'special' for the poker room which the players were happy with .. I think it was $5 or close to that. GL

Looks like Westgate is set up for the next 3 weeks .. nice!

They did hold a $125 tournament last Thursday but I didn't get any details. My schedule doesn't permit very many tournaments so sometimes the data doesn't register and I don't post much on weekends either.

The day game at King's Friday was amazing with most of the table having 3-4x starting stack in front of them at least once during the session. There was only one 'real' cash-n-dash so that was nice as well.

A quick glance at the WSOP ME shows less than 10 Players from MI remain of the 380 headed into Day 5 today. This tournament is flying along action-wise as the average stack is still above 70bb but Players are playing like it's 20bb. IMO the action will slow very soon as the payouts start to become larger and especially when they get below 100 and the $100K payouts are within reach.

A huge tank (and 'good call') by last Fall's champ on a Turn shove started a heater that put him from potentially less than 100k to over 1M four hands later, including AA. It seems that Players aren't waiting for their rush and just falling into the aggro big stack attack approach. 70% of the field was lost yesterday in just 5 Levels and that seems pretty high IMO .. we'll see how it goes today.
