It's getting going. The games are really soft so far relative to what online poker was pre black Friday. I haven't jumped in seriously yet (not sure if HUDs are allowed/working yet) but something about the novelty of playing legit poker on my phone has been really fun. I'm up $2 at $.01/$.02. Vegas and the ****in Mirage, here I come.

HM3/PT4 work there and I am not aware of any Stars or MI rules/regs preventing their use.

MGM 'rules ..

1) Call in up to 90 minutes before arrival .. 313-465-1070. Your spot on the list is tied to your call, not your arrival. If you don't arrive 'in person' then you are dropped off the list.

2) Upon arrival you verify your texting information and 'maybe' they give you an estimated wait time.

3) You have 10 minutes after they send out your 'seat open' text to get back to the poker room .. or to at least call and beg for more time since you at Five Guys!

4) No official word on additional tables. Since the poker room is not it's own entity poker players do affect the total capacity allowed at one time. So for each Player that means one less slot being used. GL

'Word' is that Keepers will start to re-install the tables next week and they are training pit dealers so they can put the poker dealers that are still working there back in the poker room ... soon. GL

Hope they hurry. Made a trip to South Bend last night and the 2/5 game was excellent. But that is definitely a long drive for poker.

According to two Players who were at Firekeepers ... Poker will begin on March 18th!!

They are still planning on hosting the MSPT tournament in May, but probably will not hold any qualifiers up until the week of the tournament. That is not finalized as of yet. GL

I wonder why MSPT doesn't have FK on their site for May. They are on the schedule for Oct though.

That was an interesting one .. I checked their website before I posted on Twitter and here and then apparently later in the day they adjusted their website to show an Iowa (?) tournament on that same weekend in May.

IMO they are smart 'not' to try a MSPT so close to re-opening without really knowing what they have for Dealers. The last thing they need is a travesty of a tournament right out of the gate. They would be better off holding some one-day events to test the Dealers so to speak .. and probably pocket a decent profit for the day as well.

Latest word is that there's no official word .. However the poker Dealers don't have any hours scheduled in the pits beyond the 17th, so their assumption is still the 18th. Perhaps they want just a soft opening? GL

Motor City Casino will reopen their room on Saturday .. no one seems to know what time, but it will open! They did pop back up on Bravo, but no updates to the information there.

So all 3 Detroit casinos will be back open as of this weekend. GL

Still holding some hope .. Ohio casinos got the green light on Friday .. most have opened and updated their Bravo. GL

No go for FK poker .. maybe in April .. possible staffing issues .. also no plexiglass planned as of yet, maybe another factor? Tables AND chairs in place.. they are losing their shirt with no slots or poker in that room just on the last Saturday alone .. GL

It feels like the end in sight right now regarding COVID restrictions. Given the choice between opening the room now under strict COVID rules or just waiting a few months until an unrestricted opening may be likely, you might as well wait.

In the ongoing FKeepers 'saga' .. the go to date is now May 1st. Rumblings of issues with the MSPT contract and guarantee are floating now. IMO the guarantee could've been handled with notification but there could be some language in the MSPT contract that would've forced them to run the tournament if they opened sooner than May 1st?

Poker options are increasing for sure with Ohio opening up. Someone posted that Hammond had moved their room 'upstairs' but nothing official. They host the tournament events upstairs, so maybe this person just saw tables and got excited?

Rumors out of Vegas that casino capacity limits will be lifted on May 1st. Still need to wear a mask indoors, but no more plexiglass at poker tables with 'all' slots available for use .. probably show attendance increase as well.

If you feel you still need to get out of the state for some warm weather and want to play poker, then Florida and Texas are still booming. Air fare is quite reasonable right now as well .. take advantage if you can! GL

Nice. My Vegas trip is tentatively planned for mid June so hopefully things are mostly running back then. I can tolerate masks for a while longer if need be, even though I'll be fully vaccinated by then. Even with online up and running in MI I do miss my occasional Firekeepers trips. I think I'll try to play there at least once or twice a month, maybe hit up some more tournaments instead.

FYI, received a call yesterday regarding my current Gun Lake points and status as they were about to expire if I did not come in and play or use them. I informed them I was a card player almost exclusively and played very little in the casino. They confirmed they will reopen the Gun Lake poker room at a future date but did not have a schedule. I have always assumed the reopening of the room would coincide with the completion of the remodel/expansion they had started pre Covid.

Yes, I believe that you need to earn at least 1 point every 12 months to hold onto any other points you may have 'in the bank' with them. You may even get away with just a swipe at a kiosk. But if you're close it wouldn't hurt to play a penny slot or a couple hands of BJ to reset your date.

My understanding is that there was no 'poker room' in the expansion and it was pretty much set where it was until CV came along. So if there would be any plans to reopen the room it would just go back to where it was in the old high roller room. 'We' still have the issue of the 'Games' manager not being fond of poker .. and the return to 100% slot capacity as well.

There was talk of trying to be more proactive with tournaments once they add a hotel, but that's a whole different expansion 'plan'.

Don't exactly remember but the expansion was more to expand Stage 131 and add a Steakhouse restaurant. They certainly don't have pictures or anything up like most places do to promote how their spending our money! GL

SOCIAL DISTANCING BETWEEN EACH OF THE 13 TABLES
A MAXIMUM OF SIX GUESTS PER TABLE
FACIAL COVERING OVER THE NOSE AND MOUTH REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES
TOURNAMENTS WILL RESUME AT A LATER DATE

The comments on the Facebook post are full of 6-max hate.

What poker room are you referring too?

That is the information from an email sent out by Firekeepers regarding their anticipated opening on May 1st.

Action in Sought Bend at Four Winds has been very good even though they haven't been filling the room as much as they were earlier this year. I don't think the 5/10 has been going much, but the 2/5 (and even most 1/2 tables) are juicy. GL

I'm still reluctant to play indoors these days. Maybe I will do so in the fall.

LOTS of you already know .. but (if you use it) Bravo will self-update the next time you try to log in and it's quite a bit of change. They must've gotten bored over CV and revamped some things. There have been reports of some glitches (see a thread on this site) but eventually 'we' are all smart enough to get it back to what we want to get from it.

There is a 'sign up' section now which may prove useful .. IF .. the casinos turn it on and/or subscribe to that portion of the App.

FKeepers seems to be going strong with reports of games action all over the map, which is to be expected from 6-handed play. There were also some stake buy-in adjustments. Way too soon to see how quickly the casinos start to pull back restrictions since most of that may have to go through their Gaming authority first. GL
