Since Woodys is busted why wouldn't some traffic go to Lincoln? I haven't read the rest of this thread, but is there some problem with Lincoln?

Played at a TJ's $15 tourney with unlimited rebuts for the 1st hour. There was 50 players and a prolly 35 rebuys. Play was what you would expect for a $15 donkament. Got my money in good on the flop against the worst player at the table with AQ on a J97 flop player showed 84 for a inside straight draw and got there. Just wanted to see the action at TJ's since Woody's closed. The place was busy with 2 cash tables of 1/2 nlhe going.

Can you give more details on this? I don't see anything on their website about it.

Oh, the cutting-edge Westgate website doesn't provide much information? How surprising.

Wednesdays is $20, No-Limit Omaha. I have not played this tourney enough, as my Wednesday nights have typically been busy with other commitments. However, from my experience, the tourney is SUPER juicy, and usually gets 5 or so tables.

PLO cash action has been known to break out once in a while, but as is usually the norm with the Westgate tourney donks, they bring their $50, and if they bust out of the $20 tourney, they try to short-buy 1-2 and see if they can double up and win their buy-in back. Any PLO action is going to be the younger guys there to pick on the spots.

Variance as expected will be high in the tourney, but goodness, you can instantly spot anyone who has the slightest clue about hand strength or odds.

Also, that $15 TJ's Monday tourney might be the best value in town given the buy-in. $20 Westgate Saturday afternoon tourney also gets huge turnout.

However, Westgate has gone to a new tip-sharing program that has caused some of their best dealers to quit. They also seem constantly under-staffed. That place is kept alive purely b/c of their location and past reputation. Management is slowly trying to kill it off.

Not good. Thanks for sharing. One can only assume the casinos had a hand in this.

I'm new to the GR area and have been playing mainly at Westgate. Anyone have any plans to go to Firekeepers for the MSPT? I'm thinking of trying a couple satellites.

Late on the congrats, but props to Jordan Townsend for shipping the MSPT. Have battled with him in cash games at Westgate, good player and way to go on the title!

Edit: First took $70K. Hope to see more big-money tourneys coming to Kzoo, or eventually Gun Lake when they install their poker room.

Just letting everyone know I created a facebook group for people in West MI who play poker to keep everyone informed of events.

The poker room in Gun Lake was in the original build plans. But then they decided to build the casino 1/3 of the proposed size in order to get $ in faster, and expand from there.

I had thought they would expand by now, but I guess they are concentrating on accumulating as much revenue as possible, and they still have some lingering tax and legal stuff to deal with. But I would hope they break ground in 2014.

Headed to Soaring Eagle tonight to hit up some college kids flush with loan money. If anyone's interested hit me up at kol4teral@gmail.com or on here. Split gas I'll drive might have a few with me.

Does TJ's actually get the horse game going on Thursdays? Also, did the 1/3 RXR game make its way over there, that woody's ran?
West Michigan Poker Quote

TJs had the HORSE game going, then it went to O8/Stud, then occasionally RxR, now I'm not sure as I haven't been there in about a month on a Thursday night.

Their problem is that management has pissed off more than a few of the core RxR players due to their utter ineptness at running a room. The rest of their $30 tournament-loving player pool can't comprehend mixed games, or only buy in for 20 BB before announcing they want to go back to playing 1-2.

Had family visiting today (I'm originally from GR) and they told me Woody's shut down. A real shame. A lot of the dealers and regs there were legitimately nice guys, and the fact that the place had the best/easiest action I've ever seen in a poker room in my life sure didn't hurt.

Is there any specific place that players migrated to, or did it just kind of stifle poker in Wyoming? Is TJs any good? How's the action?

Tj's is good, but usually short on dealers and sells out of chips quickly. Best option though IMO

Soaring eagle has its own thread.

If you don't want to pay for a room at the resort there are many cheaper casinos in mt pleasant. I have stayed at the Chipewa Motel before for $40. It is only 1min from Soaring Eagle but you get what you pay for.

I heard that TJ's was robbed tonight. Can anybody verify or give details on how the room/charity is handling the situation? Thanks.
