Any west MI players still in the Main Event?

Looks like 3-4 from MI and a couple from IL are still in, although they all are pretty short.

USA needs to step it up in the event .. For a short time the top 15 were all from 'out of town' ... not good for TV ratings. GL

I decided to post this here to eliminate the possible confusion of comments from different time zones. Is the Main Event is on television tonight?

The link below does not show that it is:

https://www.pokernews.com/news/2018/...ergo-31320.htm

My Comcast channel and program guide shows the ESPYs in the time slot where the Main Event has been running.

I thought that I heard during the broadcast a few days ago that the one-day break would not happen until we were down to the final nine.

PokerGO shows it will be live at 6pm EDT. Not sure about cable.

It has been kind of tough determine where to watch some of the events in Vegas. With the additional 'complication' of CBS streaming in the US you really need to track down the coverage at times. It does seem odd that a paid-for streaming service would have 'shows' blacked out in lieu of pushing you to another potential paid-for service.

In an amazing situation, the MLB Home Run Derby was on both ESPN and ESPN2 the other night, pushing poker back for a bit until it was completed.

It will also be interesting to see how the Nick Schulman saga plays out ... unless it's already played out! GL

There is a WMich local at the PLO 6-max FT today at the WSOP. Would be nice to see this Player also break through with a big win. Starts at 5 PM but I don't think there are any streaming options. GL

After a long 4-handed battle which I think each Player was the short stack at least once 'our' guy was the one who fell in 4th. Good run and a nice cash for a now 'family' man ...

... It will be interesting to see how much these 'action' Players come out and hang after a pretty decent Summer and some life changing stuff going on as well in their personal lives.

As I 'type' here GLake has a 4-handed PLO game that ran through the night (no NL running) ... Ah, to be young again ... GL

The Friday night game produced Final Tables for three different players and one bracelet. Pretty great showing from that player pool.

PLO BBJ hit at GLake sometime Saturday afternoon-ish. Full table chopped up around $54K when TT < 57h on T968T. The TT Player, who is a Dealer at GLake, picked up a nice $20k+. And for those who want to post 'that' question ... don't, it's PLO!!

The reserve was at $13K, so not too bad of a reset. The NL BBJ is getting back up there at over $70K. And I believe that the Dealer involved in the PLO BBJ actually dealt the last NL BBJ hand ... might want to stay close to him!! GL

They allow their own dealers to play at GLake? I thought it was a Michigan gaming regulation that they couldn't play in their own establishments, but I must have been told the wrong things by some of the Detroit dealers.

As with most things, it's how you write them up. Poker at GL is it's own entity 'so to speak' and thus may have some freedoms that the other casinos dealers don't have since they were written up long ago and the casinos don't want to change their 'charter'. If poker dealers are grouped with pit dealers, as is the case at FK and SE, then I think it would be hard to separate playing poker from playing Blackjack down at Gaming.

GLake Dealers (pit Dealers as well) can play in the poker room and are eligible for most of the promotions as well. I don't believe they were allowed to play in the WSOP ME Freeroll tournament.

I'm not sure the poker dealers status in the pits, but I'm pretty sure that's where Gaming comes into play. Dealers typically can't play in games that are against the house, but they can play slots.

GLake Dealers weren't initially allowed to play but that policy changed fairly quickly. From the business side of things it keeps them out of the charity rooms for the most part and also provides a boost to the player pool. Especially now during the slow Summer season, a Dealer who is released for the day or requests an EO can still attempt to scratch together some cheese for the day. GL

Back to the dark side last night as I jumped into the 2/5 NL Monday game. Amazingly enough I still remember the game!! Although it looked like we would have two tables going with 20+ on the list, I was put at the 'main' table fairly quickly for where I was on the list and had an enjoyable, albeit less stressful, session. I think there are a lot of Players who like to rubber neck the first table before committing to the game. I've never really game selected too much (probably should) but IMO it really only takes 2-3 Players to drive a table even with a few Snappers at the table also.

The late night Players are chasing the NL BBJ already ($80K) ... We were getting along fine at 5 Players and then picked up 3 Players when a 1-2 table broke and all they could talk about was the BBJ breakdown ... after using the bully stack mentality for a few orbits it was time to go!! GL

60 or so entries into the Thursday night GLake $80 event. 7 got paid with $1100 up top .. finished up 'around' 1 AM? Lady I haven't seen before ended up 2nd ... with 'her man' railing her for most of the final two tables. Very nice to see.

NL BBJ is creeping up there at $81K with $200 HH promo running Fri-Sun from 3-11PM.

We are getting a few Players who sit down at PLO while they wait for NL since PLO has struggled at times to stay full. GL

Do they post their tournament blind structures? Not finding them. May check out tomorrow’s $100.

That looks close ... I'm not a reg for that one. All 'posting' has to go through Marketing at GLake, so they haven't done so since they have to stir that pot if they change. Pretty sure that the PA stuff is either called in or verified on site some how. GL

Ask a question I can understand and I will ... new August promo?

OK ... After an inquiry ...

1) Each Quad hand (13) will start at $25 and add $25 each day until hit ... reset at $25

2) 'Any' straight flush (1 per day) will start at $75 and add $75 each day until hit ... reset at $75

3) 'Each' Royal (4) will start at $100 and add $100 each day until hit ... reset at $100

..... Reset occurs every day at 9AM .. NL only.

PLO will continue to have the Straight Flush promo ...

There you go ... GL

This is interesting. Could be a frequent situation where quad aces are worth $25 but something like quad twos are worth $300. Is the Bad Beat still running as well?

Yes ... both BBJ are still in effect.

I do need to expand the SF info ... All 4 suits have their own daily SF bonus

We were speculating (no official pool as of yet) how many days it will take to hit all 4 Royals for the first time. One suit has been hit so there's 3 more to go, but I'm thinking it will be well over $2000 for the last suit to hit for the first time.

I've had very little experience with the 'Soaring Hands' or the pyramid at FK ... and of course volume makes a difference ... so it will be interesting to semi-track how often these bonuses get paid out. GL

Hello thread, I’m curious to see how well the black chip bounty tourneys have been running at Gun Lake on Sundays? Does anyone know how many people they normally get on average? Also, was at GL playing PLO on Monday. What days during the week is PLO running for most of the night, was a little disappointed to see the game break around 10.

Wow ... We are grateful to have your first post in this thread, JTss. Welcome!!

Most of GLake's tournaments do pretty well, with at least 40 entries up to 80 or so. The history of the BCB is a bit fragmented since they have now moved the date so that it doesn't interfere with FKeepers $240/$500 end of month tournaments, which do well themselves. I've heard very little complaints about GLake tournaments but I'm not a main stream tourny player either.

Summer PLO has been a bit inconsistent, with day, evening and night Player pools thinning out a bit. Hopefully it's just a Summer thing and once we roll into Sept/Oct some of the Players will increase their 'schedule' a bit more. Mondays also feature the weekly 2/5 game which can draw some Players over there for a change of pace. I would say that there could be a bit of a hangover on Mondays also since PLO is pretty steady during the weekend, which includes the 4/8 Limit game.

I've also observed that the average PLO session is shorter as well. That includes all combinations of firing less bullets, locking up profit and just not wanting to deal with the swings that can be involved with 4-10 hour sessions.

You hit the nail on the head with the 9-10PM time frame. The day game has been starting later and 'needs' to get through the 4-6PM slot without going too short handed ... and then you also need to get through the 'news' slot in order for the game to run later past 1-2AM. Some Players don't like to play short-handed or get nervous when there's no list for whatever reason.

IMO there's some skilled PLO Players, so when playing short-handed it's harder to hide in the bushes and pick your spots. Newer Players have 2 issues .. one, they get gobbled up by 'all' the Players so they run back to 1/2 NL. And two, they really don't like the 'Bingo' aspect of some sessions that can go for 30-45 minutes before the game settles down for a bit. GL

Choose your 'Bounty' this Sunday ... Both GL ($340) and FK ($350) are holding Black Chip bounty tournaments at Noon. Hammond is also holding a $700 with four Day 1s with Day 1D being tomorrow, Saturday, with Day 2 on Sunday.

Gun Lake's structure is a little quicker but FK will have a bigger prize pool.

FK is doing their anniversary stuff this month with $1K HH on each Wed. GLake is still working on their September promos, which I'm assuming should include some sort of 1 year celebration. GL
