Does Gun Lake have a schedule of poker games/tournaments online? I checked several Gun Lake poker room links and didn't find anything.

Bravo poker app is your friend Cliff. That's gonna give you the best info.

1-2 NL cash runs around the clock. Lots of bigger games. But since you've posted often that you only play tournaments, and nothing really above $100, I think you're going to be SOL with Gun Lake for the forseeable future.

I'm actually quite surprised by your response. The casino poker that was closest to me, until Gun Lake opened a poker room, was Soaring Eagle with buy-ins as low as $30. I guess it's back to the charity rooms, along with online.

Thanks for the information.

PClif ... GLake is working on tournaments, but apparently they need to be approved by the Gaming Commission AND GLake 'casino' management (not poker management) is pumping the brakes on the daily staff it would require to run tournaments.

It appears they will hold their bounty at least once a month, but that is probably above your price point.

I 'semi' don't blame them when the cash games are moving along so nicely right now. We just need to be patient as it must seem like the poker management is like your 5-year old kid constantly asking for stuff to the casino management. Tom, the poker room manager was actually a late hire so a bunch of stuff that 'could have' been discussed and worked out before the room opened is still getting worked out. GL

I confess. I'm a bankroll management nit. I used to play poker for fun and to win some money while I was doing it. I recently started taking it a lot more seriously and with a long-term perspective. I look at every tournament as a chance to add to my bankroll in order to move up to the next level.

Two more GLake tournament offerings this week. $80 NL Thurs 630pm and $100+25 Bounty Sat at 1100am. Both are re-entry and have late reg. See Bravo for more details. The larger Sunday Bounty will happen this month as well on the 25th. GL

No luck for POY candidate 'Internet' at the HPT grand finale, but Muskegon MMorris is still alive going into action today with 15 left. If he finishes 1st or 2nd and AJohnson finishes no better than 8th then he will be the POY for the HPT. Which is amazing since he only traveled to Colorado to support Internet and then ended up finishing 2nd there to get some good points. It will be a long day as FT usually takes 6-10 hours and they still have to get down from 15, starting at Noon 'our time' with Twitch streaming of the FT later. GL

So Bravo has these tournaments listed under daily tournaments and it says start date is 11/15/2018 and end date 9/26/2019. Does this mean the Thursday and Saturday tournaments are going to run weekly now?

I will confirm today, but from what I heard they will be offered weekly. They 'forgot' that next week was Thanksgiving so they pushed for starting tomorrow on the Thursday one. GL

1) GLake 'dailies' start next week .. MTW $55 buy-in starting at 11am. This might be a little early with the late reg ending at Noon. But they have a shift of Dealers that comes in at 1000. See Bravo .. 7000 chips, 20 min levels

2) GLake staff continues to take feedback and review Player concerns and Rule interpretations. I'm probably seen as a pain by some, but consistency is the key in my view. Most of the time I don't really care which way enforcement goes but I will stick my nose in so that I don't see variances from shift to shift, Floor to Floor.

3) FKeepers Full House Pyramid is in full effect. No more 4-hour High Hand!! It seems they start on Wed with a combination of Full Houses and in similar fashion to the 'Soaring Hands' those hands get paid a bonus when hit ... with the higher the bonus the longer it takes to hit the hand. The process starts over the following week. It appears that most of the hands are in deed 'hit' by Sunday.

4) For the 'JV' series tournament buffs .. AJohnson won the HPT PLayer of the Year this week in Chicago. He also has a fairly large lead in the MSPT POY race with 2 events to go (Milwaukee this weekend). It would be quite a feat for any Player to hold both of these titles at the same time. Not sure if I've ever played at the same table but his style seems to be of an Allen Kessler 'cashing' low variance game although I have seen him firing more multiple bullets per event in both series blog reports as the 'year' comes to a close. Extremely quiet at the table you would think that he's taken to the mold of the High Roller Pros seen on PokerGo and other streams. Not sure if he plays much cash ... Keep an eye on the MSPT updates via Twitter to see if he can extend his lead this weekend. GL

Had the chance to play 1/2 NLHE at GLC three times in the past three weeks. The room is excellent, and the comp of 500 points per hour is nice not only for the $1 equivalent but because it counts toward other promos and drawings as well. The high hand promo is fun, the fact that it rolls over is friendly, and awarding multiple prizes for ties is very generous.

It's been all good as far as I am concerned: Dealers have been noticeably excellent, the floor has been solid, food options are good, waitstaff is fine, self-serve drinks right in the room is surprising and welcomed, and the many TVs have been nice during college football weekends. Level of play has been beatable -- anyone willing to play a hand for $2 is generally willing to play it for $12-$17 as well. Bluffs need to be very well-timed to get through with this crowd.

Big Beat Jackpot was over $100K as of Friday night. Saw a couple of people getting massages and others taking advantage of food service. Fellow players were generally agreeable and pleasant to be around.

Personally, I don't get to play very often with three kids and a busy work schedule, but when I do, I can't imagine choosing a local charity game over GLC anytime soon.

If you are into watching streams .. might want to check out Live at the Bike tonight at 9pm either via YouTube.com or Twitch.tv for some 5/5 PLO action. We will have a local Player in the mix.

You don't need to subscribe to watch during the event, but if you want to go back later you will need to use the 1 week free trial or sign up somehow. The hole cards will be shown and Dan Zak, a very well respected young Pro will have the commentary ... or be playing. GL

Dan Zak has played in this 5/5 PLO game before .. and it's uncapped ... and the straddle has been up to 40 before on some nights.

I'm pretty sure he's commentating, but he's not above this game. I've seen him sit down with $3-4K in their 25/50 NL game when others have 40k. He's a smart cookie, I doubt he would walk away from a ripe table just because of the stakes.

Jump in the Twitch chat .. we can banter online!! I don't chat on YouTube since they want you to register and stuff. GL
