Thanks for the post! I don't post from my phone so this really helps get the word out.

Speaking of 'word' .. The ongoing lack of marketing of Promos at GLake continues. So make sure you go to Bravo and check the Promotions tag in an effort to see what's going on. This one popped up less than 24 hours from the start.

I guess you could say by 'NOT' marketing you are really taking advantage of the Regs, but then again one would assume that (by default) a Promo is used to promote the room .. and thus bring in new players? I don't think that 'Look what you missed out on' is a good way to promote the room. GL

Better than expected (by me) turnout yesterday for the FKeeper $500. I'll put more details in the FK thread but it was still going on with 14 Players at 11pm. GL

King's room has officially changed Suppliers. The last day with the long-time standing Supplier was Sunday. This will be the 2nd major transition for this room that I'm familiar with. There was a very short stint, maybe 3 weeks, when another attempt was made in this room but never got any traction.

Not sure on a name change, but they have indicated that 'redecorating' will commence soon if not already this week.

As with the change that Westgate when through the faces wont really change too much.

Current hours are 'doors open' at 330 with hopefully cards in the air by 400pm. Only running one charity per day right now, so no break/shutdown. I've heard that there have been 1-2 cash games and 3-4 tournament tables .. so a bit of a reduction.

LOTS of Player opinions surrounding this change .. but I'm going to leave those for 'at the table' discussions.

Just a brief reminder of how Charity poker works in Michigan ..

1) You need a Charity to apply for a Millionaire Party license (up to 4 days per license and up to 4 'parties' per year)
2) You need a Location to agree to allow the event to occur .. via a lease between the Charity and the Location (not the Supplier)
3) The Charity can also hire a Supplier to help them run the event and they then split the rake according to State Law.

While a Charity can host their own event, if they have a location that the State will approve, they typically use more commonly known places where Millionaire Parties occur on a regular basis.

Each Charity has their own cause. Each Location hopes that the Party draws in customers to support their business. Each Supplier must also handle their business within the rules of the State when assisting the operation of these events.

All three of these entities must work together to satisfy the State Gaming Board ..if one of them slips up or doesn't want to participate anymore, then the events could be delayed or canceled. GL

Good article .. but I really don't like the headline. I don't see in there where the Charities 'get richer' since they will probably still have to pay the $50 fee .. it just wont increase. If they are going to waive the fees in lieu of the appropriation, then OK I guess I'll give them credit for those funds staying in the Charities hands.

Just my first reaction .. I'll probably read it more. Anything that helps sustain Charity poker is good AFAIC, just don't bury the story with an inflated headline. GL

TODAY! FKeepers .. $1000 Hourly High Hands .. 10am-8pm

Thursday! GLake .. $500 Hourly High Hands .. 3pm-4am

Saturday! FKeepers .. $1000 Hourly High Hands .. 1pm-10pm

Played MGM this past weekend .. pretty darn well run room. Lists look long but always moving with hard working Floors who give you the straight shot information, whether it hurts you or not!

MGM has implemented 'string' must moves for 1/3 PLO tables .. NO table changes allowed. You start at 'bottom' table and move 'up' to the main game if you stick around long enough. Possibly a bit unnerving to some, but it works much better than allowing Players to chase table changes and list jumping. A couple of times I played less than a down at one table due to large amounts of Players cashing out. But if you do make it to the Main Game the stacks are very large. I saw at least 2 Players that were in the room for over 30 hours!

Never too early to start thinking MSPT .. May 11-14th .. FKeepers should be releasing weekend Qualifier/Satty schedule soon

Heard that King's Room cash games have been great as of late. Doors open at 330 with 1st hand by 400 most days.

I think poker hit a bit of a lull the last two weeks with the excitement of GLake opening wearing off and Players not really knowing how to set up their playing schedule. Mix in a bit of weather and I think Players just decided to chill out a bit .. maybe a Super Bowl hangover or something!

While there's been some stinker tables I think that no matter where you choose to play you should be able to find a game to your liking. GL

Also .. WSOPc is making a return to Horseshoe Hammond with 22 opportunities to play tournament poker. NL, PLO, Seniors, Bounty, O8 .. $400-$1700

Play starts this Thursday with a multi-flight $400 NL event. Events run to Monday March 6th. GL

Still some good poker tournaments going on this week at Horseshoe Hammond .. WSOPc events .. if you have time.

WEEKEND Qualifiers and Sattys will start at FKeepers for the May MSPT event on March 18th. A full schedule will come out 'soon'. IMO they did cut back on the weekday events, but now that they have a fully developed staff once again they may add some dates.

Stopped at King's for the first time in a bit Friday night. Two hoppin' cash games and 3 tables were left in the tournament. Not sure cash games are starting right away at 4pm daily, but with the weather, High Hand promos and other winter stuff going on Players are still adjusting their schedules.

I assume that WGate will hold their $125 'first Thursday' tournament this week. You can call in and get on that list at anytime .. or just text your wishes! I was told that they got a PLO table going on a Thursday as well a week or two ago .. Nice! GL

Could just a short-term trend .. but I think 'weekday' poker has slowed down a bit here lately. Later starts and shorter sessions. Action seems fine, just down a bit on volume .. ??

On the flip side Westgate's First Thursday $125 Tournament was the largest yet! There should be zero complaints .. this is a Turbo event that does offer 'enough' play before 2nd break. Just my opinion, I'm no tournament expert by any means.

$1K Hourly High Hands tomorrow, Wed March 8th at Gun Lake .. 1pm-4am .. should be some juicy rollovers

$1K Hourly High Hands in two days, Thur March 9th at FKeepers .. (I think) 11am-9pm .. Noon for sure.

$1K Hourly High Hands on St Pat's Day, Fri March 17th 1pm to 2am .. ALSO $500 Hot Seat Drawings at 5, 8, 11 and 1am .. ALSO ALSO $250 Envy pay to everyone at the same table as the Hot Seat Winner! (inventive). Pretty sure the TapHouse kitchen will be reopened with a new menu by then (it better be, OMG if not).

Don't forget that MSPT Satty start on March 18th.

FKeepers has been running a 1/3 PLO 'match' game on Thursdays starting at 6pm. This has been pretty deep the last few weeks. You can call ahead and get on the list well before Thursday as you can see on Bravo.

Gun Lake has also been getting some 'match' PLO games going .. last Friday morning/day and last night the PLO game was a match game.

King's room does have ongoing remodeling and the restaurant is under new owner/management. GL

GLake HH yesterday were a hit! Almost too much of a hit with some Players waiting over 2 hours to get a seat for 1/2 NL. Both the 1/2 RxR and 1/3 match games had very little Player turnover until after 5pm. The lists were full and at times there were ZERO call-ins showing on page one of the waitlist (because everyone was already in the room waiting).

There were no rollovers while I was in the room and I'm pretty sure that all but two of the winners were quads, with one SF and one FH.

I actually woke up at 430 and saw 3 tables running, so I assume there was a rollover going .. no tables at 545 when I actually got out of bed!

Have these all the time you say? Well the math just doesn't work .. Both the RxR and 1/3 are not 'full' contributors to the promo fund since those games tend to move slower .. so we will say that they are contributing 1.5 'tables' worth of promos. At 30 hands per hour and 7.5 tables going that's only $450.00 per hour going into the promo fund with $1000 going out .. not good math. And some of the promo dollars need to go to 'Made Hands'.

Yes .. Tampa Hard Rock has $1k HH every 15 minutes some of the time, but they are also losing money even at 40 tables running!

Even if you give a generous 40 hands per hour since Players are 'speed' folding all non-promo holdings the math just doesn't work.

This does lead me to doubt any appearance 'soon' of a BBJ at GLake, but I'd have to ask for the daily Promo disclosure that should be available to Players upon request. Some Promo Fund language has a cap in there that forces the casino to create promos in order to prevent the fund from being too fat, so to speak.

I'll try to keep on eye on FKeepers today .. the snow doesn't start until 7-9pm towards the end of the promo so it will be interesting to see if they get a large turnout just one day after another promo occurred. GL

I would definitely call by 1200 and show up by 100 but the room may not be full at 2pm either. It's hard to tell on Bravo what's going on since only 'on site' players show up in the listing. It comes down to when Dealers start a shift too.

Wed have been busier than Thurs since the 'Made Hand' bonuses are higher.

269-792-7558 .. they have the cashiers answering phones now too so that has helped. GL
