In the bet I put up on the screen you would have to bet $100 to win $191. I'm not sure if it was +110 or -110, I just know what the screen said.

So if you had placed two identical $100 bets and went 1-1, you would've lost $9 in the end. So yes, that works out to 4.5% 'overall' ($9 on $200 in bets). But I want to focus on winnin', and when I'm supposed to be handed $210 and only get $191 it hurts me!! (That's what it must feel to rake in a pot in Australia where rake is not capped!!) It makes me feel like I'm payin' the juice on both sides of the bet when I win. Like I said, I'm no SB expert, just looking at it face value. GL

Ive been hearing nothing but complaints from PLO regs from Gun Lake poker room, they have been coming in here for the drawings and as many of you know the Holdem bad beat was hit just before the shut down and the PLO bad beat was at all time high. We’ve always kept Holdem and PLO promo money as separate funds and have always had separate drawings, but when we want to bring in as many players as possible we combine the roughly $120k of PLO money and $40K of Holdem money to give away to mostly all Holdem players, in 28 drawings only 5 have been PLO regs. There may have been 50 PLO regs that all put money into PLO fund only for bosses to give it away to Holdem players. If we ever bring back poker I hope we can get a good management team in place for round 2

Kind of hard to find talented people to run a good room in WM. Especially in Gun Lake...who wants to move to Gun Lake, MI to run a poker room. Just imaging who management is at Gun Lake. Probably all locals from Gun Lake w/ no good management skills.

You may want to fact check the '5 of 28' .. While I haven't actually seen every winner, I can vouch that a 'pool' of Players that mainly played PLO won 3 times the first week and 4 times this past weekend. That along with my own win on Saturday puts the 'PLO' winners at 8 minimum. (Unless you count the better-half of a PLO Player who won $2500 Sat, then it's nine+) Yes, there was one NL Player who won three times the first drawing, certainly he has some sort of static spray on his tickets!

Granted S38's overall point is valid, at the time of the shutdown well over 60% of the promotional funds was from the PLO action .. And obviously a much smaller amount of Players come from the PLO pool than the NL pool.

IMO there should be a much larger uproar about having to go to GLake 'every day' to get tickets .. and don't forget you can get a bonus ticket as long as you play some games as well .. so we have to 'pay' for just the chance of getting back a portion of what was once 'ours'.

Could they have awarded tickets based on play? Sure. Could they have paid out the promo fund based on hours played? Maybe. Could they have had two separate drums, one for NL and one for PLO? Maybe. Let's just be happy that News 8 wasn't involved or one of the other 'long shot' story lines that I've heard over the Summers.

As with most poker related items, there was zero chance of everyone being happy with how the funds were distributed. (At least they are being distributed!) Why does the drawing give the advantage to people who live closer? That discussion hasn't held as much weight as some had thought since a couple of particular Players haven't won anything as of yet!

Hey, it's a hassle to drive down there 'just' for this, but it is a drive that all of us were willing to make while poker was open. There are Players who are calculating how to exactly use up their Reward Dollars when the last drawing is held, and then never set foot back in GLake until poker returns. GL

Four Winds in South Bend, IN is open for poker! Plexiglass and masks, 7-handed .. it's about 2 hours or so (at the posted speed limit) from downtown GR with 3-4 different route options depending on where you live. Open from 10 AM to 6 AM as long as games are running. Hot seat Thursdays for $200. $500 daily HH, BUT if you get your HH from 10AM-2PM on M-W, and it holds, you win double!

NL BBJ is $223K

Last night at 9 PM they had 6 of their 'available' 7 tables running with 1/2 NL. Small list for 2/5 and PLO. I've heard they got PLO going on Thursdays but I've never been there (coming soon). At this moment they have 2 tables running with 5 on the list.

If you ran into 'the plumber' from GLake, this is his 'home' playing ground, so you might get into a whopper of a game. I've heard that this room was tight, but I can imagine that some Chicago traffic will spill over pretty soon.

No complaints from GLake as of late, I'm basically treading water as I chase after my 200 daily points .. spreading my time between video poker, a $0.75 slot bank and Ultimate Hold'em table game. A couple of couples continued their hot streak by taking down a few more of the BBJ draws. It's over $10k just for those 4 people combined. We did have our first 'push' draw for $777 when a Player's name was picked but they hadn't quite made it to the casino as of yet (hint, another Player put their tickets in the drum).

All good .. GL

Well that didn't take long .. a WM Player was involved in the BBJ hitting in South Bend on Sunday, playing 2/5.

Another bit of sickness floating around the home game scene too, be safe.

Slots at GLake have been kind this week so far. The vibe/feel seems to be a bit cheerier.

GLake buffet will open on Friday at 1 PM? Reservations needed and starting out with prime beef. I did notice that you will have to pay extra for a steak? I knew they were charging for lobster before, but I didn't know about the steak. I pretty much always did the to go box, so perhaps I missed something when it came to steak. GL

Thanks for the link .. There's an actual Michigan Online Gaming Thread on this site to search for as well. If memory serves me correctly there was some additional legislature/list of regulations that needed to pass through the Michigan House this week or it would die and need to start over due to this being an election year. If I'm (unfortunately) correct, this would significantly delay online poker/betting.

Slots at GLake are still hot this week. Walked in this morning and a lady hit $15K on a 'penny' machine .. stating "I'm going to Vegas tonight!" (Yes, there is an Allegiant flight every Friday the last time I looked.)

For you Bac partakers .. Player has been hot all week on all tables that I've seen on my walk throughs, maybe 65% that way.

Nice to see another poker Player spin the wicked wheel .. but only for $250. He got the last spin of the whole promo, not sure what's up in November yet. GL

Yes, a local Player was also part of the BBJ hitting at South Bend last Sunday. (Thought I already posted that, but ..) 2/5 hand that started set over set and went quad/quad.

I think Thursdays are playing bigger down there, but 'any' day is a good day to get back at the poker table if you can. GL

Ended up at Four Winds last Thursday .. nice place! They already had two or three 1/2 and a 2/5 NL going just past Noon with 'full' lists for 5/10 and PLO. It appears that the 5/10 may be a Thursday thing while PLO can be day to day.

No food allowed in the poker room but there are a couple of options for 'quick' food to scarf down and I think at least one sit down. There is easy access to a drink station just outside the room or you can have the wait staff bring you drinks. They have both a parking ramp or surface parking available. It's super easy to get to on 31 South a few exits past the SBend airport and there's multiple ways to get there from West Michigan that take about 2 hours no matter your choice.

They had hired a few new Dealers to cover their increased traffic, but most of them had worked at other casinos previously .. although a couple did struggle with PLO pot sizes but it was really no big deal.

GLake is now closed from 4 AM? to 9 AM for cleaning, so if you are headed that way to get your BBJ tickets you have time for an extra cup of coffee. They say they started this last week due to the increase in cases, but I missed it completely somehow. GL

GLake is still 'in meetings' to determine how they are going to proceed, if at all, past Wed 12:01 AM.

Obv whatever they decide could impact the last two BBJ drawings .. stay tuned.

IMO they may reduce capacity, which may affect the recently opened buffet, but will somehow find a way to stay open without ruffling too many feathers in Lansing. GL

Starting Friday at 9AM Gun Lake will be slots and high roller room only. No low limit table games. No food or alcohol, only drink stations. No live sports book .. kiosks only.

As of today the Nov promos are still going forward. GL

Remember today is the last day for food at GLake for 3 weeks. If you are a poker player who will not be returning after the last drawing then you should drain your Rewards account .. I left 0.01 in mine!, just in case! GL

How big of a gambling addict do you have to be to make a trip to the casino nowadays? No food, no table games, no poker, no shows, no buffet, no drinks, no live sportsbook, just slots with a side of COVID risk. Brutal. People still show up for that?

I got to GLake at 8:50 on Sunday and there was already a line at the door to get in. I waited in my car a bit and once inside it was pretty much business as usual. Sunday is a little different since there was a heavy dose of sports bettors already at the kiosks when I left .. about 9:17!

It will be interesting to see if traffic is as heavy the third week as it is this week during the holiday week. There was a drastic drop in senior traffic last Wed even before all the changes took affect on Friday. GL

What's the rake? Standard -110 lines? -115? Something else? Any profit to be made from trying to find arbitrage spots where the GLC line is off from online books?

Also, do they have any lines up other than just the basic NFL/CFB stuff? Any futures betting or anything creative?

(I'm a very novice sports bettor)

The betting lines/offers at GL, especially for the NFL, are typically 110, but I've seen them plenty different than that. If I remember correctly you would be betting $100 to 'win' $192 or something close to that. The screen and tickets clearly explain what you would win if things go your way.

Also plenty of alternative prop bets as well .. I'm not sure who actually sets the lines but I'm told the bets are placed through Parx Casino in PA somehow, which is why they can't give us any GLake points or track bets by GL Rewards Card .. so your ticket is 'cash', don't lose it.

There are some combinations of bets that you can't combine via parlay for whatever reason. Like you can't combine a 'game' under and a 'team' under for the same game onto the same parlay bet.

Plenty of teasers available but I don't know how those work as of yet.

They run plenty through there. It's hard to find a kiosk to just 'play' with some bets without someone over your shoulder waiting to actually place a bet.

They has some kiosk issues the last week or so, so that really pressed them into letting the live desk reopen .. and obviously to get more volume through. Pat on the back to 'Poker' Tom (who runs the book now) for getting the desk back opened up, at least for Fri, Sat and Sun. (Tom is NOT my source for the intel .. at least today!) GL

Thank you -- this is helpful! So you can just make a sports bet yourself through a kiosk? How do you pay -- swipe a CC there or have money or your account somehow?
