Not worth travelling for unless it's your only option (read: if you're from Utah).

During the week, Montego Bay will have a table of 4/8 limit and a few tables of 1/2 NL. Rainbow will have one table of 2-10 spread limit. Wendover Nugget will have a game or two of 1/2 NL.

On weekends, add a few more tables of 1/2 NL and a single table of 2/5 NL at Montego Bay.

Nightly tournaments with a turnout of 30-ish people.

I live in Utah so Wendover is my best option for live cash games. The Montego Bay room is really nice since the renovations. The 1-2NL game is not too bad, doesn't play too crazy and there is always a loose calling station or two who will pay you off. They also have some decent promotions with a BBJP, Full House match during the week, $100 for Aces cracked during the early afternoon game (Starts at 10:00 AM), and $300 if you get a flush in each suit in a 24 hour period (Which someone hit Friday morning when I was out there).

The Nugget is a pisshole of a casino but they usually have a $2-$5 spread limit game going which is beatable outside of the rake.

Bump. I'm curious to how the 2/5 game plays. I've played 1/2 at Montego Bay a few times and the game was generally good. I believe they normally have a few 2/5 tables running during the weekend, but I am curious to how good they are since I'll be coming from SLC.

Played 2/10 spread limit at the Rainbow Sat. and Sun. night of president's holiday weekend. Only one table but the game can be juicy. Sun. night played more like 10/10. Occasionally they have two limit tables going. Zero NL tables.

Promos include BBJ (quads > AAAKK), flush of each suit from 6pm-6am = $200, Aces cracked, $20 splash pot ( new dealer adds $20 to pot pre)about 6 times per night.

Also played a couple hours at 2/10 at the Nugget. The game played more like 2/4 or 3/6. As for the room and casino itself, I'll just say the Rainbow is MUCH nicer.

Did a walkabout of the Montego. It was busy though I didn't look what games they were spreading.

The Montego Bay 2-5 on Fri night through Sun is awesome. 1500 max and super soft. Played Fri thru Sat to bank 3200 (minus 1500) and played Sat thru Sun to bank 4600 (minus 1500). The room is run exceptionally well by one of the FM's (I think his name was Rob). Anyway, was just passing thru for the weekend (driving on my way down to Vegas for WSOP).

Sorry for the bump. I'm gonna be in SLC this weekend, noticed Wendover is only ~1.5hr away. Never been and might not have anything better to do one day, would it be worth it? Any games going regularly? I think I saw two tables at Wendover Nugget yesterday on Bravo.

I drove over to Wendover, NV from SLC Saturday to check it out. Easy ~120 mile drive past the Bonneville Salt Flats to Wendover from SLC, all interstate. I first hit the Wendover Nugget, where 1 game of 1-3 NLHE was going. Passed on that.

Next I went over to Montego Bay, because BravoPokerLive told me that's where the poker room at the Peppermill was located. Not really, BPL, it's down the street a mile or so. They had 5-7 tables going, 1-3 and 2-5, and I was immediately sat in a 1-3 game. 1000 max buy-in or match the big stack, but no one was over 5-600 on my table.

Reg filled, to say the least. Everybody knew everybody else, lot's of nitty folding (set's folding to one bet on a 3 flush board, for example). I sucked out a good one KK vs AA AIPF for a full double up (I guess everyone else at the table would have folded to the 4 bet jam with KK? I'm not that smart, and got lucky) Won another big pot with KK again, and eventually (only ~2 hours) cashed out for $600 (3x my buy-in)

It was actually quite a fun table, some strat talk but not too much. At early-to-mid-50's, I was maybe 3rd youngest on a Saturday afternoon? The guys were all very friendly, dealers were competent and engaged.

Decent promos on Saturday afternoon, seems like the room is giving away lots of money, and I'm sure that's what drove the crowd ("crowd") in.

Tables were 9 handed and no plexiglass or masks (for vaccinated guests, on your honor)

If I ever happen to be in Wendover or SLC again, I wouldn't hesitate to kill a few hours or more there.
