Hi

I am in Vienna on Saturday evening and was wondering where is best to play cash?

I have been recommended Montesino already but would like to hear from other 2+2ers what their opinions of Vienna's cardrooms are.

Thanks

Montesino is ok, but in my experience you find the most action/tables at Concord Card Casino, Simmering:

I enjoy both of those rooms immensely. The customer service from both dealers and floormen is exceptional at both places in my limited experience (approximately 5 trips).

I ended up playing at Montesino. The action was pretty poor when i first arrived with x1 full 1/2 table and x1 really shallow (old women buying in for 20 euros) 1/2 table. Fortunately there was a big tournament on and before long i was sat in a 1/3 with no max with hardly any good players at all and a couple of huge whales. Action was great. Few other tables opened up encapsulating a surprising variety of variants. This was a Saturday afternoon/early evening and I only stayed for 3/4 hours as I won a fair bit quite quickly and wanted to get into the city to get drunk given that I was on holiday. Thanks for both responses.

And thanks for the trip report! Good to hear that there was a good bit of variety in games offered.

Hello guys,

Planning to go to Vienna this summer for about a month. Do you have any advice on poker rooms there ? What's the fishiest room there ? I'll play mostly 1/2 and maybe some 2/5.

Thanks !

Hey! Have spent a ton of time at CCC, it is the biggest room in Vienna. Plenty of tables running all day long and good selection of tourmaments as well.

Anyone familiar with the PLO games in CCC? I see in their cashgame liveticker that €5-€5 runs on a daily basis. Are the games good, is the rake easily beatable? And so on and henceforth.

I think 5/5 runs practically 24/7 and 10/10 FR-MO. Walking by I've seen 300+BB avg. stack in the 5/5. The 10/10 can get very deep & crazy. Lot's of 'regulars' in that game. Mostly asian.

I can't speak to how juicy the game is. The rake in Vienna is pretty ridiculous, though, so take that into account. Also be aware there's very heavy smoking and ventilation is bad/non-existent.

This is the rake structure for all 6+ player NLH & PLO games but rake is capped at 25 € (!): from 901 €, 20 € and from 1.201 €, 25 €.

There's also a BBJ drop of 1 € on the flop but the BBJ (AAAKK or better) is capped at 1.000 €. There are $xxx bonuses for hitting straight-flushes.

I'd say no, if you like winning. Unless you're looking to play 10/10 PLO on the weekends 500BB deep vs gambly asians or 200/400 27-TD vs mostly regs. For SSNL there's only 1/2 and 1/3 no-max. Both are raked to death.

This +1000 for all Austrian casinos. A few weeks ago I was in the area and played at CCC Linz. The game, the only game that night, was PLO single blind 5. Effectively this was a PLO 5/10 since straddling was allowed from UTG and button and happened every hand, some hands were 5/10/20. Aside from most of the table being short stacked (min buyin 300, that most ppl folllowed roughly) this might have been the best PLO 5/10 I ever played, everyone just a degen gambler with no clue at all, playing almost every hand and chasing lol draws. BUT the game was just so -lifeEV with little to no ventilation, and, this is not an exaggeration, everyone else but me at the table smoking 3+ cigs/h while playing, so you can imagine the ambience...
My car still had the smell two days after only from what was being transferred by my clothes

+ 1000 for the smokiness. I don't know how anyone could work there. Surely they owe it to their employees to ventilate the venue. I played at CCC in Vienna on a very warm August night. Plenty of action but very uncomfortable conditions. There is a huge brothel next door if you wish to blow your wad (of cash)

Hello,

I have decided to come to Vienna for 3 months to play some live(also online) poker over there.
I will be playing MTT's in Montesino & 2/2 PLO cash game wherever it runs (CCC Simmering, Bond ).
I will be there from October 1st until New Year, maybe I will stay longer, depends on how I will like it there

I'm looking for cheap(up to 400€ all included) accommodation(Private room), preferably in 11th district, or somewhere where I don't have more than 30min with public transport to CCC Simmering & Bond casinos, including night time when Ubahn is not running.

I'm a 38 years old Slovenian guy, fluent in Slovenian, Serbo/Croatian & English and I love to party and play poker .

If somebody has any tips or has a room to rent, let me know.

Are the old men not allowed out with their 20 euros? Why only the old women, I wonder.

Hey All,

Just got into Vienna and staying here for 2 weeks (maybe more). Just seeing if anyone is interested in grabbing a beer, coffee, schnitzel, or all three. Shoot me a PM and hopefully can figure things out.

Best,
