I'd be willing to bet that, in most cases, they'll be happy to turn it over.

I've seen this happen in every room I've ever worked in, it's going to happen...but to have it happen twice in one game, makes me cringe. I am sorry you had to witness this and I can assure you that it is not procedure.

I'm not sure it is the actions of the dealers that was the most alarming in this situation. When Dynasty brought it to the floor's attention it was apparantly disregarded. If this is occuring, it is a very serious problem and the floor needs to be addressing it.

Tabling a hand with one card face down, in no way whatsoever, folds a hand. The farthest you could stretch this out would be to call it a delay of game or unsportsmanlike penalty. If a dealer is mucking a hand that was never folded or placed into the muck, there is a very serious problem.

Since Lopaka brought up the hand mucking situation that occured a while ago, I'll mention that I spoke with Kathy Raymond via e-mail. She said, at the time, she would deal with this issue herself.

You know I was so surprised to read something like that happen at the Venetian I didn't notice the date of the post. Had I noticed I probably wouldn't have brought it up. I am glad to hear it was addressed.

Confirmed that the new poker room rate is now $159 on Friday and Saturday (same as b4)

However, the new Sun to Thur room rate is now $89 (it was $119 b4)

Hope this helps. Don't know anything about the 10 hour sunday and entry to MTT however. . .

I dont know what was up with last week, but there was super Loose Passive guys there just throwing money around. I havent had this kind of a week in a loooong time. Pretty much every night I turned my $300 buyin into $1000+ for 5 days straight. Crazy action. Maybe I got lucky, but usually I will cash out around $500-600 a session. I wish it was always like this.

DCARP, can you confirm this? And also confirm this rate can be used Jul 1 - 6, during the deep stacks.

Thanks!

Those rates are correct...$89 weekdays and $159 Fri & Sat. My shift manager tells me that those rates are good through August.

dcarp, would you please update/confirm/complete the following info for me that I've gathered by reading past posts in this thread? I want to make sure the info I gathered will apply to a stay I'm planning for late June.

(1) Is the poker room rate still $89 Sun-Thurs/$159 Fri-Sat? Does it still require six hours of play per day on average? If two poker players are sharing the room, would the room price remain the same? Would the two poker players be able to combine their play toward the six-hour minimum?

(2) Are the rakeback/comp promotions still going on for 8/16 O8 and 15/30 LHE? If so, can you let us know what all the details are of the promotions nowadays?

(3) What days does PLO usually run and at what limits? I'm mostly interested in 1/2 but would probably play 2/5 if that's all that's available.

Thank you for your time.

This page says the poker rates are 89/159 yeah.

I got $25 comped for playing in the 8-16 o8 game. A day or two later I played in the 15-30 HE too and asked to get comped for that - the guy at the front desk said "didn't you already get that comp?", and I said no I got 8-16 O8 and I was told that you could get multiple comps for different games/limits, and he said that they're not comping for hold 'em anymore. Doesn't bother me anyway because the half rake deal is all the comp I'd ever ask for, but I figured I'd give it a shot since the 8-16 thread says you can get multiple $25s.

I saw 1-2 PLO going 2 days of the last week, but I can't remember which two for sure.

Anyway - just wanted to say that I'm really impressed with the room. I'm a lazy creature of habit so I settled into a few regular joints and hadn't been to the Venetian in a long time and was impressed by everything - quality of the room, number/types of games, the staff. I'm kicking myself for not realizing how great the room was sooner - and the 8-16 games with $2 rake are easily the best deal in town. I'm hoping that one manages to stay going for a while long yet.

I've been staying at the Venetian for the past couple weeks, Yay poker rate!

Room is gorgeous, but yeah, action is really really tight.

One issue I think they need to address is the dealers are instructed not to count bets until asked by players. This does nothing but slow the game down.

I complained to Richard (floorman) last night and was simply told it was industry standard, they didn't want to 'influence' the action by telling the player how much the bet was for.

This rule is horrid and needs to be addressed.

This doesn't slow the game down. dealers having to count every bet to announce the amount would slow the game down.

sure there are times it slows the game down. It usually involves a player who thinks that the dealer should tell him how much the bet is, then he sits there waiting ...eventually asks the dealer... the dealer tells him it is $5 and he folds.

Dealers shouldn't get in your business until asked to. Player that wants to call or is thinking about calling will ask for a count if necessary. Other than that dealers shouldn't be touching the bets.

If I want to book a poker rate room for the Sunday night before Memorial Day, is that considered a weekday or a weekend? In other words, do I need to limit myself to a <$400 room (and pay $89), or can I get a <$500 room (and pay $169)? It looks like all the regular room prices are basically weekend rates.

Senor...I hate to say it, but you were misinformed. You still qualified for the $15/30 promo. You can receive multiple $25 comps.

Come find me the next time you're here and I'll take care of it.

A GOOD PLO dealer counts the pot mentally as the hand is in progress.

Hey, when I said I didn't pick up my comp because I thought it would be recorded on the card, you told me tough luck.

Guess I'll just have to take it from you the next time we play 1/3 at the Wynn...

I told you tough luck? I don't think I have ever told a plyer tough luck in my entire life. Were you here in person or was this in a thread?

Regardless, if you come see me the next time you are here I am sure we can get this squared away. And, I am sorry if I didn't handle this properly the first time.
