Agree with Venetian, for those who want to go there, ask for the member card and then go eat for free @ the chinese restaurant close to the poker room.( 1 hour of play/1$ )

MGM, poker ok but food is horrible.

I played also at Balys and Stratosphere, Venetian wins by far.

There were a few names on the 10-20 mix game list today.

15-30 hold 'em ran today, though I didn't think the game was very good.

10-20 Omaha/8 ran. That game was excellent.

When I got to work yesterday morning there was a $2/5 game going...and it went all day and night.

PLO runs everyday.

$15/30 has gotten going 3 days in a row.

Really? I see it as a critique for a room manager that should take the initiative to CONSISTENTLY show the DSE customers their appreciation through out the year...instead of just at years end, when they've checked the profit sheet, figure they can now afford the spread and then promote it.

BTW, I think the V is the nuts by far and gets nearly all my cash game action when I'm visiting. Now fix that buffet plate for me and then choke on it you non-affiliated shill.

They should consistently show appreciation, throughout the year, for customers who participate in a limited time frame event. You are correct, that makes perfect sense.

Or, you know, they have a buffet for the DSE and to be nice let everyone eat from it. Also avoids dickishly checking id at the buffet. This is totally worth getting upset about. Totally.

We don't check ID at the buffet. Cash game and tournament players are free to enjoy it.

Is there a way to check online how many comp dollars I have earned playing poker? I logged on to the Club Grazie website, but it shows I have nothing, so I guess the poker room must have a separate system.

To be clear, I think your policy is wonderful. I was replying to some life nit who thinks it is horrible.

10-20 O8 was running Friday night, as were two 1/2 PLO tables and at least one 2/5 PLO table.

I don't think so, but if you call the poker room I don't see why the phone attendant couldn't quote your dollars over the phone. You will probably have to verify some ID info.

I'm coming out in February. Just to be clear, it's a Club Grazie card I want to sign up for to track play in the poker room? Any advantage to getting it ahead of time? Or just pick one up when I get there?

You can get one when you get there before you start playing

Venetian has the best room ever. My buddy's and I come from Canada every year for a week and sit there 24/7 and shoot like crazy. The staff are exceptional and we tell them to call Niagara fallsview and tell them how to run a poker room.

Never had 1 bad experience with the Venetian card room and we recommend it to anyone who goes down to vegas to play cards from Canada.

Cheers!!

Okay, not to sound like a total noob (but I am, so I can live with it!)... I notice on the Grazie sign up page, there is an optional "Promotion Code" block. What kind of promotion codes are out there for new sign-ups and how does one go about perhaps finding one?

There are promotions, like free slot play, some matching coupons and some other stuff. I've only seen it in the casino itself. It can be a pita to sign up there, as the wait seems to be long and tedious. Everyone signing up seems to need every single detail of the players club explained to them, so it takes 5 minutes for every person in front of you, and only 45 seconds for you.

I tried the 8/16 this past week. I posted this occurrance in another forum:

Quote:
Commerce Reg got involved in a pot with the guy to his left. Now CR had racked up and was about to leave, but kept playing hands. A new player to the table couldn't get a chip runner or the floor's attention, so CR had sold him almost all his chips. Since CR has hardly any chips, he's verbally betting and the dealer is keeping track against his cash. Pre-flop, it goes bet, raise, 3 bet. Flop is a dry King, rag, rag. There's a bet and a call, turn blank, check, check. River, CR mumbles something, other guy says check, and tables 2 queens. CR pushes the queens towards the dealer and says "Muck those cards". I'm sorta flabbergasted, as is the other guy, and even more so when the dealer DOES IT and pushes the pot to CR. He claims he said "bet" although I was sitting right next to him and didn't hear it, nor did the other guy, who was sitting on the other side of him. Dealer claims he said bet although I can't imagine how she could hear it and I couldn't. I was in the 1 hole, CR in the 2, and other player in the 3.

Several things seemed so wrong and preventable: CR should not have been allowed to keep playing once racked. He should not have been allowed to sell most of his chips to another player, and continue to play. WTF with no chip runners or floor to be found for a good 5 to 10 minutes after new player sat down. Playing totally verbally left the game wide open to this angle. WTF with the action at the end with CR grabbing opponent's cards and pushing them to the dealer demanding a muck.
I've got to say I've never seen anything of the sort when dcarp was on duty. Maybe not every floor there is all that dedicated to building the best poker room in Vegas.

Yeah I played in that game, it was fun. Was my first time at the V. The perfume is brutal, gives me a permanent headache.

It would be awesome if they had 15-30 or 30-60 limit HE.

Other than that great room. Our cocktail service was excellent, and the dealers seemed good. The floorman was attentive.

Having just got back from a thoroughly enjoyable couple of weeks in LV and playing several of the DSA events I can only echo almost everyone's opinion that The Venetian is a superbly well-run venue and I can't wait to return next year.

One small tweak that I would like to see is for the tournaments to become nine-handed tables from three tables out as I feel this invariably works better especially when prize-structures seem to work in nines(eg. tenth and eleventh pay the same, and 18th pays more than 19th and 20th).

I read that Venetian has special room rates for poker players. Are there any block out days? For example would I be able get these special rates between Dec 28 - Jan 3rd?
