Just wanted to echo the majority of praise on the Venetian poker room. Got in town on Sunday and and am ever increasingly satisfied with the superb staff. Fast, efficient dealers (for the most part), great floor staff, insanely hot waitresses and massage girls, and friendly front desk people.

Have probably played in the Venetian close to 15 times in my three short visits to Vegas. The 1/2 NLHE can be a bit nitty in the mid afternoons, but they loosen up in the late afternoon/early nighttime. I've played two nightlies so far (a 15th min-cash on Monday, and a chop 3-handed last night for $2821) and a DSE (bricked that). Very satisfied with the dealers in these and same goes for the floor staff and TD's. Both times after cashing, I was never once asked about leaving a tip. I didn't tip the min-cash, but tipped $100 for the $2821 chop.

BTW, how have the 8/16 mixed games been? I saw yesterday afternoon that it got off the ground (2-7 TD, Razz, Stud 8/b, Omaha 8/b) but wasn't rolled for it at the time. Might play in it if it goes off again now that I have the score from last night. Pretty solid mixed game players, or a mixture of solid players and random fish?

I'm coming in on Friday. Will the PLO game be running? If so, what times does this usually go?

Thx,

PLO is an evening game. I dont usually see it during the day, although on occasion, it has been started in the late afternoon before I left for the day.

Tommy
I played there yesterday (Tuesday, 11/9) and there were two 1-2 PLO games going at 5:30, although both were short handed and I think one of them broke when another player and I went to the 7pm tourney.

By the way Tommy, tourney was well run last night, although I really wish you didn't skip the 150-300 level. Going from 100-200 to 200-400 (25) is pretty dramatic. Were you working it? I think a TD that helped me get some food ordered was named Tommy but I'm not sure. If that was you, I was 83 seat 4, and thanks for your help.

It wasnt me as I work during the day. Im glad the TC was able to help you though.

We do have the 150 - 300 level in our Deepstack schedule. Unfortunately we just cant have all those levels in our daily structure's because they would last even longer than the 200 - 300 am they are finishing now. It is hard enough sometimes for people to stay up that late, so we dont want to discourage anyone from playing as we have gotten several complaints for how late they go. Its that middle ground we are always trying to find.

Once again, thank you for playing and if you are ever playing during the day, feel free to come by the tournament desk and say hello.

Make this a sticky perhaps:

There is no such thing as a slow week in the Venetian poker room.

Hello Tommy,

I dont know if you've had this request before, but I think for the 1/2/5 bringin PLO it would be nice if you could buy in up to $1K, since the game is kinda loose preflop and from my experience often in a contested multiway pot postflop someone will end up allin always with the $500 max buyin structure.

Thanks.

Take it up with Jeff Hwang. He created the structure for that game to be a PLO introduction.

That specific game was created by the players. It is something they brought to Kathy Raymond our Director and she agreed to make it happen. We do run a 2-5 PLO game that has a higher buy in if you are interested though.

Question for Tommy: I'll be in Vegas day after Thanksgiving for about a week. Interested in Omaha 8 8/16 limit and mixed games. Are these going off regularly or just certain days of the week? And what limit are the mixed games normally? Thanks.

The Omaha 4/8 and 8/16 have been running consistently every day for some time now. The Mix games have really taken off during our Deepstack Extravaganza. Hopefully we can keep that momentum and continue to spread the mix games after the series concludes. Obviously, the weekends always provide a greater chance for the game to run should things slow down after the series.

Tommy, you still there? How many 5/10 games are going on a day like today?

"How many 5/10 games are going on a day like today?"

I'm not Tommy (but I play him on TV). but there is 1, $5-10 going as I type this. The place is hopping with a ton of poker games going though (I was in there tonight but not in the 5-10).

FWIW, the girl I just talked to said she's been there since 5pm and just the 1, $5-10 has been going since she got there (but a slew of other games going as noted).

I will have to ask the swing crew to verify how many each night, but I know I came into a game on Monday morning at 730 am still 6 or 7 handed that had run all night . I will ask my team members tomorrow and get back to you.

Played the nightly second chance yesterday and had probably the most frustrating table I've come across in the 15 or so live tourneys I've played. First of all, I missed the Spring Mtn exit from I-15 and ended up going 20 minutes out of my way. I register 20 minutes late or so.

In the 3 seat was an old guy who was slowing the game up whenever it was his action. In the 8 seat was a kid who, it became apparent later, was most likely playing his first time live. He kept missing his antes and had a very douchy vibe. He would constantly muck his cards in disgust and anger, once flinging them into the hands of an old guy to my left. These two were slowing the game considerably.

After first break, a young guy with a Jew-fro came to the 1 seat. He began hitting on the dealer (patti?), saying that "she smelled good" and "you must love showers" and very not too subtle come-ons. It was a bit creepy. Unfortuneatly, I busted not soon after when I shoved 15.5K at 800/1600/200 with AQo from UTG and bb called w/ 66. Flop was A-x-x, turn 6 gg.

Also, there was a guy who had a stack of roughly 50,000 by first break. Dealer at my table said he'd never seen a bigger stack at first break. Considering there's 75,000 total in chips at a full table, he must have run hot hot hot.

This might have been answered in a prior post but 570 posts is a bit much to go through:

1. Does tournament play count towards the time requirement to get the poker room rate?
2. How many hours are required per day?

thanks

Tournament play only counts during our DSE Extravanganza, and only our 12 pm DSE events count.

6 hours of cash game play per day is needed to get the poker rate if not qualifying through the DSE.

As always, only a Bella or Luxury suite applies.

Tommy do the poker room time comps ever expire? I usually only make it once a year and didn't use my comps this trip.

The comps on your card should never go away.

yeah they stay, I was there for 2 and half months in 06, and played everyday. worked up about 500 in comps that I rarely used. Every summer after that I have treated my buddies to Grand Lux for free. Still have some left.
