What's the state of the V these days? Thinking about staying there on poker rate early Nov Th-Mo and wondering if I will get enough decent games or if I will hate myself for requiring 6 hr/day. Playing 1/2.

And the poker rate is still in effect when booking through the Venetian website?

They have a Deep Stack Extravaganza going on during November. They have poker rates associated with that as well.

They will be doing another high hand giveaway in October so I'm sure they won't be doing it in November. They are busiest during the high hand giveaways.

It's interesting that the highest hand in October will only pay $300 instead of the $500 that's being given away today. I wonder why they decided to do that.

Perhaps they paid out too much in bad beat jackpots in August and depleted the reserve. It did hit quite a few times, didn't it?

I don't know. It hit around 10 days ago but that's all I know.

You might be right. I hope it isn't because they are adding in new promotions.

I think they are doing it for more hours.

Never played in Vegas before. I know the Venetian is favored for tourneys during the WSOP. How are they off season? And specifically, you know, next week?

It seemed 4 places were preferred the most: Aria,Bellagio,Venetian, Wynn Encore...I enjoyed Ceasars $$ the most during the series.

Those are always the most popular(use Bravo app to see who is offering what).

I'm sure there will always be a game, just more tighter regs.

When did Venetian change their poker rate? Just saw that they reduced the types of rooms which qualify (double queen is now extra), they have 3 price tiers (used to be 2), and you have to book your room over the phone (they used to let you book online and claim the rate at checkout).

New for 2018. You can actually book any of their suites now as the restrictions are gone, and they actually book your stay at the poker rate now instead of the prevailing rate online. So as long as you play the required hours per day, you don’t have to worry about having your rate adjusted.

Thanks.

Any idea if there is some rule to when the different rates apply? In the past it was $119 I believe for the weekdays and $179 for the weekend (before tax + resort fees). Now they have $99, $139 and $179, but their website doesn't state when each one applies.

Email their poker manager at rich.carlson@sands.com
He can give you the poker rate for any date in 2018. Just let him know what dates you are looking for. Just make sure you use the group code provided on the suite rate page when making your reservation

In case anyone was interested, I got a reply that for my trip (second half of June) with the exception of one night, the rate of $179 applies for the whole period. And if you want a double queen room it's an extra $30.
Offer was much better 4 years ago last time I traveled.

Thanks for any feedback.

Bravo shows Venetian with 1/3 instead of 1/2. Is this correct?

Confirmed. It was mentioned in a thread started in LVL about the rake increase.

Did they increase the buy in? My experience generally is if you don’t increase to 509 max on 1-3 the game remains fairly nitty

Its 1/3 100-300 buy in rake to $5. They take $2 promo once the pot gets to $10

I heard the ugliest of rumors today that the V was going to use the over toward promotion and not push up the prize pool for the tournament
