lol yes I know that baccarat table.

Also yes its own dedicated poker room is a must if they are only going to have six tables, if not they should just give up and let Villa be the poker casino from now on, they clearly care.. even running 5-10 now.

Lol, having its own room would not be a good thing.

There are going to be 3 floors. 3rd floor is VIP. 2nd floor is table games, poker included. 1st floor is slots.

Sounds like a great layout. Table game atmosphere is ideal.

Villa stuck the poker in some side room where you cant even drink, and they currently have only 5 tables.......wtf..

I agree that Villa one looks low rent but generally speaking I think a segregated area is nice. If they keep the slots on the 1st floor that would be nice.

I stopped playing at edgewater last month because its a literally dive now with no a/c most of the time. Will be nice to have a nice space and maybe even a view to play some cards.

I generally don't like hearing slots going off all the time when I'm playing poker so I like the separate room.

It was the best at Edge when they had 20 tables all off in the corner when the baccarat machines were at the front, where it is now right by the escalator sucks.

I will wait to see the layout though

A segregated room means you get less crossover players, which imo is a terribe thing. You want baccarat and blackjack and craps players walking around and seeing poker and trying it out. And the atmosphere of being surrpunded by table games is good for the action and energy of the room too imo.

And not having any slots on the table games floor is perfect. Keep those noise machines as far away as possible. Slots players dont crossiver anyways.

Everyone i talked to sounded optimistic about the tables being increased from 6 at some time.

According to a dealer who visited the place last week, there won't be seperate room for poker. It will be in the table games pit, but with enough privacy (I imagine in a corner). And the good news is there is a lot of space for more tables if needed (he said 10 to 12 tables is doable)

my favourite spot was when they had the room in the old dealer training building across the street. Didn't even have to enter the casino and they had 20 tables or so.

I guess you can have that experience at Riverrock if you want. I think being part of the casino is better for the quality of games.

I never noticed the quality suffer but being next to baccarat is nice sometimes when they come in and start dropping hundreds pre flop with nothing.

I also enjoy people watching while I play, which is more entertaining on the casino floor. I like the feeling when I go out to play poker that Im surrounded my people who came out to have a good time, and secluded poker rooms often kill that atmosphere.

Even though I agree with this general sentiment, I'm also not terribly convinced there's much crossover (if any at all) with regards to poker. In my experience (at least in my room), poker is a 99.5% reg filled game with very little chance of randoms sitting in the game. Even moreso now with this big BBJ and the chance of a random walking up and being able to sit down in max listed game literally 0%.

Saw picture of a new table looks nice, hopefully not too big.

Wish they would put some effort into the chips but I know they will be heavy plastic crap

I wasn't a fan of that room. Same with the River Rocks current room. Liked it better when it was in the casino upstairs.

Thats lame, it would be nice if they had some sort of table comp program like vegas but thats wishful thinking. Wonder if there is any way to get it validated.

yeah with the Rain and everything going on I wouldn't want to drive in that area tonight.

Its nice that there will be more food choices in the casino now, i wonder how that will be incorporated into the table ordering.
