Edge specifically. Haven't played elsewhere in months.

Hopefully not any time soon. Wait lists have been full and action a lot better than usual.

Good to hear.

But whenever the new casino is finished and replaces the current one, there will be no more poker. It's possibly the stupidest casino business move I've ever heard of, but that's what they've been saying all along.

I can only hope that they quickly realize their error and get a poker room built in ASAP once they realize a large percentage of the casino-goers came specifically for poker, and played other games as well and ate food and bought drinks and brought guests. I often feel like half the customers in the casino are all crammed into the poker room.

Really? I don't see why they would do that in such a prime location. Would be very disappointing. Who did you hear that from?

Ask anybody who works in the poker room. This has been well known for many months.

I'm leaving for 2 months but I sure hope when I get back I can play all spring and summer at Edgewater and that the new casino goes way behind schedule. Hopefully the Canucks make the play-offs and are in it for a bit as that's great for the poker.

Maybe I'll pop in tonight to check it out one last time before I leave.

It was great last night. Weekends it's so good for action I wish I was able to play there every fri-sun. What a damn shame that it's shutting down.

Agreed.

How ******ed is it that Burnaby, Coquitlam, Langley, Surrey, and Richmond will all have poker rooms in their casinos, as well as Prince George, Kelowna, and even Penticton, but the **** downtown Vancouver casino won't. It would be only large BC casino without poker I believe.

It's insane. Edmonton and Calgary have multiple rooms and soon we won't even have 1.

If you remember, Villa opened without a poker room, and realizing their mistake, they put one in after a year or so.

"In July of this year, council approved a permit extension so Edgewater can stay in its current Plaza of Nations location until December 31, 2016, which is when it will move to its new location."

Looks like we've at least got this year to play.

I feel like downtown Van will have a poker room somehow in the future.

So, quick overview of the state of Vancouver poker? Which casinos can you currently play and what is the status of those casinos moving forward?

Hey guys, just joined up.

Moved to Vancouver from Ireland a few months ago and strongly considering making the move back to online poker after some time off. Just curious as to whether or not there's any players here that are full time grinders?

Moving downtown next month and love the idea of living in a sweet ass apartment with like minded people around me, or just the one even. Raises my game and keeps me accountable. Much the same as most others I imagine.

Made my own thread earlier but just came across this. Are there people here who live together and grind fulltime? If so I'd be interested in chatting. Looking to make the move to fulltime online next month

Hey buddies, I used to play lots of live poker! Basically Tucson, Vegas, Hermosillo and some other random places. I haven't played for a while two years or so since I moved here.

I heard that Edgewater is a good place to make some cash. What do you guys think abour River Rock I went the other day and it was a massive waiting list so I didn't play.

You guys are making edgewater sound really sexy. I've never played a session there. I live in between villa and hard rock. Is it worth making the trek downtown on a Saturday night? I was at hard rock last Saturday and it wasn't too soft.

Was playing at river rock the other day, good 1/2 action table, was up $200 until QQ < Flush , AA <- Flush , AA <- 2 pair on turn . Next thing you know, I'm at the baccarat tables O_O

I'm at Edgewater currently and haven't seen such awful wait lists outside of a big tournament series. The room only had 8 tables and the lists are ridiculous. The 1/2/5 PLO game looks super soft. I've been watching it for a while and I can't wait to get in it.

I think it's the best place to play in the area on the weekends either that or possibly the 1/3 at cascades.

Yeah the weekends are ridiculous. You have to either start in the afternoon, or start close to midnight. Anything in between is a joke of a wait. This room could easily have 12 or more games running on the weekend nights.
