Anyone playing in either of these rooms as their main game?

Thanks to anyone who can provide any info.
I played at the Rock a couple of times over Christmas. Room was full both times I went. Half-dozen 1/2 games, either one or two 2/5 and a couple of 3/6 limit were always running. They had a wait list for 1/2 PLO going that never got a even a single name on it.

It's a poker room like many others. Some games were good, others were terrible. 90%+ of regs are asians, some are solid, others are exploitable. Rake is 10% up to $5 or something, nothing obscene that should cause you to stay away.

is there a list of big annual event/tournaments in vancouver? the websites aren't very helpful and I've only found a few stragglers from Google like the BCPC (which has been..dropped it looks like) and WSOPC.

Would love to see when the big events are for each venue. I'd imagine the cash games during those tourneys going to be juicy as hell

the Edgewater just had something. Honestly there aren't any big annual events here like before. WSOPC was skipped and BCPC. The River Rock just doesn't care to host it.

Hi,

A friend and I are visiting Vancouver laterlater in the year for a week.

We play 2/4 and above hold'em cash games occasionally.

Where in the city are the best rooms, what games are spread, how many tables and what's the rake?

Thanks in advance.

If you're in the city you'll play at Edgewater. There are 7 or 8 tables.

1/2 NL runs pretty much 24/7

1/2 PLO runs every day/night pretty much during busy hours.

2/5 runs weekend nights and some weeknights.

Rake is 10% to $5 + 1 for JP (same as all other local rooms)

Did the 2/5 game die? It used to run every day but I haven't been back there for about a year. How's it looking nowadays?

I live near Seattle, WA and I come up to Vancouver to visit fairly often. Is there a legal way for me to come there to play on Stars even though my address and bank account are in the U.S.? If someone could tell me if there is a legal way of doing it and what steps you have to take in order to play that would be appreciated!!

I'm moving to Seattle from Cali next week and looking for poker action, preferably 2/5 and 5/10 NL. Any suggestions? Do I need to convert my US dollars to CAD before I play in Vancouver? Please advise.

Thank you!

Hey All,

Hoping this is a nice place to put this thread, i tried looking in the communities section but that thread seemed kind of dead and was hoping to find the answer quicker by doing this.

I will be moving to BC in the beginning of September, I have not found a place to live yet but want to find one close to the action. I play 1/2$ and 2/5 right now and I know there are a few rooms in the area so I need help finding the right spot to live.

I have never been to Vancouver nor know the area at all so any advice some people have will help me make the best decision for me.

Also if your looking for a roomie I could also be the guy

Thanks
Babs

You can get ripped off at the casino or get ripped off less at a bank or currency trader, your choice. Blows my mind whenever americans ask this question. Do you think our casinos operate in US dollars for the convenience of our 0.0001% american players?

I think Seattle area has better games anyways.

Thank you Carnivore. Just trying to find action. In Washington there is $500 max bet on each turn of a card which limits the "No limit factor". There is always flying back to cali and vegas for the weekend!
