And Edgewater only changed from 1/2 to 1/3 in September of 2015....
I played at Edgewater Oct 2015 to Feb 2016 and it wasn't 1/3 yet. Still 1/2. I think the change happened in 2016 sometime.

New tables are sweet a big fan.

Sucks for the players of table games now who like to bet higher than the min but aren't high rollers betting 300+ a hand as they've lost their spot with the new Jade Rooms only looking out for the big big betters.

Anyone try any of the restaurants there yet? Haven't heard too much of course besides overpriced.

Its really annoying that they open 3 PLO games when they only have 6 tables........this ends up with 3 NLH games and 3 or more x the ppl waiting for that game.

currently there are 3 of each and 42 people waiting on NHL and no people waiting on PLO. Bad management.

Another reason table conditions are the nut low during big BBJs; impossible for a random off the street to get on a table within a reasonable amount of time.

Hi guys. I am new to the forum and want to get involved more in the vancouver poker scene. I am gonna start playing poker in parq and grandvilla starting in dec 2017. Can someone comment on how the games at grandvilla are since parq opened? Much appreciated guys.

Hey man I am down with having a person to improve my poker with and discuss strategy. Just a bit of background about myself. I have been playing for 10 years and I would label myself a losing player. I also have lost a lot of money in baccarat and roulette, but want to stick to poker this time around exclusively. Having a poker buddy I think would help with that, so I am willing to put the hours in to improve my game if you want to or anybody else wants to do that that would be cool

Friday night, around 630pm, I call Cascades, 45 on list (plus a long-ass drive), GV had 55. Concert at BC Place (or Rogers, w/e) so I didn't bother calling Parq. Around 11pm I try again: still over 50 at GV, 64 on list at Parq. Remind me again how supply and demand is supposed to work? **** this town. If anyone needs me, I'll be in Vegas. :P

It's not about supply and demand for the local casinos and poker. The poker tables don't make as much money per sq ft for them. This is probably exactly what they want, people waiting for a seat at the poker tables and in the meantime spending money at the other table games. Sure they lose some players who are there for the poker only, but I don't they care.

Exactly, numerous times I have gone to the casino hoping to just play poker but got fed up by the wait time and instead just played baccarat or blackjack instead, it what they want.

In the new High Limit room they have one big empty room on the east end of the casino where they say they could put any table in there if you just give them an hour or two notice I said "hypothetically how big of a poker game would it need to be to bring a table in there?" I was told they probably would not do poker no matter the size.

They just do not care about poker anymore, funny that it was just what? 3 years ago now the edgewater poker room was 20+ tables?

Heading to Vancouver for Work next week and want to play some 1/2-2/5 PLO or NLHE. What casinos are best for this? I am close to edge water I believe.

River Rock has 1/3 (100-400) and 2/5 (200-1500) daily, Grand Villa in Burnaby as well, Hard Rock in Coquitlam 1/2 (100-300) and Parq downtown 1/3 NLHE (100-400) and 1/2 PLO (200-No limit)

Big BBJ going on (unless it has been hit in the last week), making it almost impossible to get on a table (especially during prime times).

Thanks a lot. Will I have any issues in the afternoon on a Wednesday with a long wait lists, particularly at RR?

Call in ahead and waiting should be no issue on a wednesday afternoon at RR. Also, the 2-5 there is 500-1500 to make a minor correction of Introls post.

So I just called Parq and discovered that they have no tournaments..
Does anyone have any info on if and when they will be running tournaments?

Hey guys, just wondering if any VanCity locals are interested in collaborating and strategizing on daily fantasy football. I play on Fan Duel and I'm pretty new to it, but I did really well this weekend with a new system and looking to meet other people who are interested in getting better and winning at it. I'm playing really small stakes but looking to work my way up as long as the stakes are beatable.

Let me know if you want to chat some DFS!
