Wanted to stick up a thread to get to know other players from 2p2 who play on the South Coast, I play mainly Portsmouth Grosvenor, starting to play at Southampton Grosvenor now. Play mainly cash myself but would be good to hear from anyone in the area!

Hey, during term time I'm up in London but apart from that I'm in Fareham and play down the Portsmouth Grosvenor every now and again. The games were lol soft the past 2 summers, so much so that I didn't bother getting a summer job, but this summer it just seemed so reg heavy, so much so that some nights I wouldn't even bother sitting down because there just wasn't one soft spot. What's southampton like nowadays?

What kind of cash games run in the Grosvenors?

Its from £0.5/1, usually waitlists in the evenings @ grosvenor Soton. I haven't played much but I should probably do it as it seems to be fishy and full of drunk students and clueless people.

I think they run both NLHE and Omahahaa.

Graduating on the 18th of May, going to be hitting the cash games hard this summer!

Have to travel there for work for a few weeks. Wondering if theres any regs around here that know the ideal casinos for live daily MTT (weeknight or weekend). Google not very helpful.....

Grosvenor in Southampton is the only place that does tournaments, there schedule is roughly

Monday £30 triple chance
Tuesday Freeroll with £5 re-entry
Wednesday £15 re-entry
Thursday £50 re-entry

I mainly play cash it might be slightly different, £0.50/£1 and £1/£1 cash games every night

I work in Southampton twice a week.

I play cash in the week, last year it was a deep 1/2 game with a decent amount of money on the table.

This year it has changed to 1/1 with a £100 max, wtf.

Most regs have gone and game starts a bit later than it used to.

What time do the cash games start up in Southampton?

I am a regular in Portsmouth and the last 6 months it has been really bad. It used to be 8pm on the dot, full table with a list, now you are lucky to get a 6-7 handed game at 10/10:30pm.

It's so annoying considering the tournaments get a good amount of runners but hardly anyone plays cash. Especially annoying when you see people cash the tourney and then go and dump it on roulette when you are sat at a cash game with 3 empty seats.

Last week in Southampton we were 5 handed from 7.15 - 9ish then filled up

I played the 25/25 in Portsmouth, liked the card room

I got lagging drunk and splashed around the cash table till silly oclock after i bust early

A game starting at 7:15 sounds heaven to me! I hate waiting until 10ish. I might have to start coming down to Southampton, do they do free Parking for Casino goers like Portsmouth does?

I busted the 25/25 in the third level but didnt stick around to play cash as I heard the Friday night was quite a deep 1/2 that the Asians like to get going and I can't handle that. I like to stick to £200 max 1/1.

Did I just read that Southampton 1/1 is £100 max? I don't like the sound of that. Pompey is £200 max 1/1 and £1000 max 1/2.

Yeh it is 100 max, I was in Thailand for January so didnt know, sat with my usual 300 for 1/2 and was promptly told, first 3 people to reg for the cash gets a rake free ticket for the night which is decent.

You can buy in for the biggest stack at table though, so when someone wins a decent pot I like to get more money out and match there stack, so just gotta wait for that to happen. Be so much better 1/1 £200 imo.

Was pretty deep on the Friday, plenty of money on the table etc etc, everyone (mainly me lol) splashing around giving lots of action

Still the same as that. Cash usually gets deeeeeeep Friday nights as someone said. Gold mine if you are rolled for it though.

Diary, I am sorry that I am unable to help you with non casino clubs. I used to go to a club in Waterlooville years and years ago which was good times especially the 3 card Irish cash games.

I hope someone can also help me here as I am looking to return to the live streets and have been keeping an eye on the Grosvenor app. It seems like Southampton is much better than Pompey for cash games. What I have noticed with Southampton is that there can be a list of 20+ people at 5pm and then it appears that a table or two opens at 6pm and there is still a wait list of 10/15+ players. Is this really legit or is the app playing tricks on me?

Portsmouth still seems to be that maybe 1 table gets going a lot lot later than Southampton.

I won't have a chance to visit either venue for another couple of weeks so just don't want to waste a trip.

Any insight would be awesome and look forward to meeting any 2+2's at either venue.

Also if anyone knows the max for 1/1 or 1/2 at either venue. Is 1/1 at Southampton still £100 max where as Portsmouth was £500 max at 1/1 when I used to play there?
