The delay is related to all their properties being rebranded and getting new chips

I’m hoping this is sarcasm or some kind of inside joke in the room. Although if there is one room in the country that wouldn’t open due to not having poker chips it would be Twin.

Mountain biking in Twin River today. Dropped by the casino to ask what’s up.

Security told me they were supposed to open beginning of June but couldn’t get enough dealers and they are trying to train new dealers but not having much luck.

The best part of twin river was the tilted bald guy dealer yelling twin river everytime he burned and put out the river

So true. That dealer is the absolute best....I got the feeling he just DGAF.
He used to spar with some of the OMCs so much that the old guys would sit out for the entire 30 minute deal cycle. Extremely entertaining.

The best part of Twin River poker was the action, the handful of fantastic dealers, the free water/coffee stations, um that's about it

The worst parts are never ending: The terribad and very small 80s music playlist, the filthy and never-washed chips, the uncomfortable chairs, the felt/rail combo that led to cards flying under the rail at least once per dealer change, the overall dealer pool (pooled tips are bad for everyone!), the lazy floors, the bad food options, the hanging smoke in the air if you have to go through it to get food, the constant parking lot muggings, on and on

But the pros outweighed the cons IMO, though admittedly the proximity of TR to my house compared to all other casinos played a huge factor for me as well. The action was just terrific, especially the $5/$10 (most of the time) and the $2/$5 must-moves.

I hope TR poker comes back!

Take this for what it's worth: Was talking to a woman at Boston Billiard Club who used to deal at Encore. Is now dealing at BBC and knows people at Twin River. She said that the delay in TR reopening is indeed related to getting dealers. She said they have a dealer class going right now though and expect to reopen the poker room in September. Once again, no idea if this is true so take it for what it's worth.

Any word if it’s still opening September? Keep calling the poker room and getting no one.

Haven't heard anything. I know they held (or are holding) a job fair, hiring for all positions including dealers.

I asked them on Facebook when they were going to reopen the poker room. They replied that they have no update at this time. Doesn't sound promising.

The latest rumor I heard (not sure if it's accurate but it was from someone who works there) is that they are building a new poker room as part of their expansion and Bally's rebranding and that will be open October of next year. So yeah, not looking too promising in the near future for poker at this property.

if true the good news is it should be built correctly (instead of retro fitted and jammed in a small space with bad lighting) and since its Bally's should use Bravo and be run properly

could be totallty wrong tho lol

Agree with most of that post, except Bravo part. Poker Atlas is clearly better IMHO.

They are still the same management, only thing changing is the name of the company for recognition purposes. They got that also when they bought Ballys AC.

Foxwoods and Mohegan have eliminated smoking at least for time being. Probably the only positive thing from Covid.

What about Twin River ? Is smoking allowed ? It was one of the smokiest casinos I've been in. Wifey and I stopped going there because of it.

At the moment still non-smoking. Poker room was upstairs which was already a non-smoking area.
