I saw a patron get “trespassed” last night.

West Entrance around 9:30 p.m. I was washing my hands in the Men’s restroom, and I noticed a security guard follow a patron into the bathroom. My first though was, “Ah, this is going to be a good one!”. When does security ever follow people into a bathroom, right?

The security guard was just standing there in the middle of the restroom, starring at the patron, waiting for the patron to finish using the urinal.

I waited outside the bathroom in the hallway, and I heard security tell the guy “Sir, I need you to come back inside and straighten this out”.

I didn’t hear what the patron said, but he kept walking towards the exit. Security then told him that he would be arrested for trespassing if he ever returned to Twin River.

To be fair to the patron he probably was at the craps table where the employees look for trouble out of boredom..antagonize the players on the norm

Was anyone else there about a month ago when the kid got taken off of the 5-10nl table by Security and State Troopers? He was questioned briefly, searched, and then arrested. No one seems to know what happened.

$5/10 NLHE is the largest game allowed by law. Starts every day sometime around noon, runs through at least 2am although typically later, sometimes all night long, especially on weekends. $1/2 and $2/5 also run near round the clock. $5/10 limit stud occasionally goes off. There's also $3/6 limit hold em.

Viffer it's a 1k max that usually gets two tables running. Unfortunately min buyin is 200 so you get some short stackers here and there playing with 500 bucks. Most of the players are terrible. Avg stacks can be anywhere from 2-5k

Unfortunately, to play anything bigger, you'll have to go to Foxwoods. 5/10 NL is 2k max, the PLO games are the same but they play bigger. Occaisionally you see 10/25 unlimited.

Or you can brush up on Stud. 75/150 runs pretty much all the time, and you'll often see 150/300 mixed games.

5/10NL hasn't run at Foxwoods in forever unless there is a tournament series running and even then it is usually a 5/10PLO. 5/10NL has been running nearly every Fri/Sat night at Mohegan though and it's 2500max.

Went in day today for the first time in a while. Lots of young guys in CCRI etc sweatshirts mixed in with the usual OMCs that live there at 1/2. I think a good rule of thumb playing there at 1/2 is everyone is horrible until further notice. You just need to figure out which kind of horrible. Also saw a lot of short-stacking OMC regs that change tables every 30 minutes and the entire floor and staff know them on a first name basis. Dealers were all decent to above decent.

Haha that's exactly how I imagine this place. Wish they hadn't waited for me to move out of RI before opening.

Thanks !

Let's see. It's 18+ so a lot of college kids. No PLO (not legal in RI), 1/2. 2/5, 5/10 NLHE and sometimes 3/6 limit. rarely 5/10 stud.

Not great lighting. 21 tables, but usually on 16 during weekdays. A bit cramped, no Bravo. No free alcohol.

To put it politely, it's not known as a well run room.

Twin River poker room is basically the Star Wars Cantina.

Dangerous, exciting, live music and no shortage of scuzzy looking aliens

It's the best NL action between the big 3 of Mohegan and FW and it's not even really close. It's also the poker room I frequent the least despite it being around the corner from me and having great action. I had ALOT of issues with staff rulings there in the past that ruined my enjoyment and cost me significant money

I still go there a couple times a month because I live 10 min from there and my store is literally around the corner, but it remains a poorly run poker room.

Still, I know plenty of good players who relocated to Twin as their base casino because of the good to great daily action. Like any poker room, it's better action generally at night and on weekends. The wait times are not bad even during peak hours since they added tables, but having no call in system is a joke.

The staff at this stage is mostly competent, with many of the complete bozos who worked there long gone. They still get rulings wrong on a consistent basis, which is a big deal to me, but to many others isn't.

As already mentioned by others, there are ALOT of college kids there since it borders Providence. CCRI, Brown, Bryant, Johnson and Wales, RIC and PC are all minutes away and they come by the busload.

I would caution you to be VERY CAREFUL in the parking lots. Twin is notoriously unsafe outside (google : Twin River assault ) but they've made steps to make it a little safer. Still basically a wasteland outside, which is insane because the town of Lincoln is generally safe and my business has been there close to 10 years.

Twin is a great convenience casino, and possibly the worst destination casino. Basically if you live close and like playing only nl, it's the spot (until Wynn opens). But there's no comps or reasonable amenities to speak of, because Rhode Island. The resort casinos beat Twin in every other imaginable category besides action. I don't like playing just NL and i enjoy the comps/rooms at the other two. Plus they are much better run, which matters to me.

Still, Twin is very appealing if you are looking for action. That's really all it has going for it imo, but it's a big selling point. GL if you go. And be safe

I honestly LOL at this. I'm in my 60s and have never felt in any danger in the parking lot (except from the occasional drunk driver). But I've lived in cities most of my life, know how to pay attention to my surroundings, and have been told that I walk like a thug, so maybe I'm just lucky to give off a certain vibe.

Google Twin River assault. Go ahead I'll wait

I've also never had any issues, but I know several who did. Tire slashings, people walking up to you out of nowhere, and I know a friend of a friend who had their head smashed on a car windshield in a botched mugging. It's 4 shady and not very well lit parking lots with only 1-2 security trucks in total constantly monitoring them and virtually no police presence until incidents occur after the fact.

This also is insane because it's next to both the State and town police stations. They are legit around the corner.

I really think Twin parking lots are about as unsafe as it gets but we can agree to disagree.

There is valet parking. Also Ubers are plentiful in Rhode Island and some of the cheapest in the country. You can Uber from TR to Providence for under $15.

Showed up at Twin around 11 last night(Sun) and while I was expecting it to be dead, they had 3-4 tables of the 8-9 1/2 tables running at 5-6 players so I just left. F that noise.

i often play there during the day and i can see how at night it has potential to be super shady.
I was debating to go and play a session until 1-2am on Friday. Not very comfortable walking back to my car with several thousands in my pocket.
How does the valet works? Any cost? Any lines? Are there other option to guarantee I don't get robbed?

Valet is free. Wait isn't bad if off peak.

No guarantee not to get robbed anywhere on earth.
