That wasn't Twin Rivers ever saying "August" or any delay whatsoever it was a reporter who took it upon himself in that link to make his own claim or to follow a rumor (or both).

The only official statement that has come out of TR is "Coming Soon" which is the same statement used in their billboard marketing and what is listed on the front page of their website. I assume the next/2nd press release will be an opening date.

That's new, it wasn't there a few weeks ago. Still nothing on exactly what the tables will be.

The table games (which will open first) will be the same as downstairs in the smoking section: Blackjack, Craps, Roulette. My understanding is once those get rolling, the poker room comes later. They've already blocked off a big section of the 2nd floor for the games.

Does anyone no if there is a director choosen at this point. Im a very good dealer from Maryland and I canr seem to reach out to anyone there.

I was at Foxwoods Saturday playing 5-10 omaha and a few players that are local are hoping they run an omaha game. we can only dream

Not to mention thug mafia-like staff that treat you like you don't belong there rather than being welcoming like a casino should treat their patrons.

It will still be worth driving to Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods.

TR is a 18+ casino. 21+ to drink. That's why you pay for alcohol on the gaming floor.

From what I hear that PK dealers will be dealing TG as well. One day you might be dealing poker, next day TG. PK dealers will keep own tokes.

I think it's more like the state of RI wants the extra money. They could very easily make alcohol free and just not serve the 18 yr olds.

Poker dealers will not keep their own for experimental purposes. It will be pooled with table games for time being (which is some bull****)

If it gets bad it will go to some type of vote to seperate (same bull that Foxwoods went thru)

If poker dealers are keeping their own tips, I am inclined to tip bigger than if they are splitting them with people I have no dealings with.

I've tried to explain that to management, they don't understand.

Keeping their own not only is it better for dealers, it's better for the house as dealers will be hustling to get more hands per down... More rake for the house.

The difference between FW dealers before and after they got to keep their own tips is night and day. All dealers became faster. Even the completely awful ones became average.

I cringed when some FW dealers I'm friendly with told me poker dealers will not get to keep their own tips. I know of several good ones who would already apply to Twin but are instead on the fence because of this.

You want dealers to keep their own tips. Makes them actually care and you see many, many more hands oer hour and that means more rake for the house.

The poker room is in the middle of a pit so I understand why they initially would make everyone share, but it's a giant mistake that I hope they correct sooner than later.

There is a bit more than meets the eye when it comes to a casino allowing tips to be kept , instead of pooled. It's got a lot to do with IRS and state income reporting, how the casino will enable a process of income tracking and counting, and/or an hourly estimate of tips (not unlike waiters, etc), as well as prevention of "structuring" by employees/dealers as way to launder money into chips and back into cash for any number of unscrupulous people. Yeah, it's always about money, taxes and the government.

As I have heard and understand, each casino strikes its own agreements and working procedures with both the IRS and state taxation authorities. There is no one, certain, hard fast set of rules for each casino- they negotiate and agree how they will satisfy the regulations set for them by the state and Feds. I've cash out of one California casino for over 5k w/out any paperwork, and then had a bunch of paperwork at a lower level (3.5k), and had to file a CTR federal form there. Why? That casino had a different set of agreements with the IRS.
Remember how they used to come around with big barrels at FW and take all the tips? That all went to a massive counting room, of course, and then was distributed properly. But it was also properly tracked to the satisfaction of IRS and State of CT.

So although it's very doable to just let dealers keep their own, there's much more behind the scenes for this to happen. And at a place like FW, it sure was an operational BFD to accomplish it.

It's not hard either, when the casino controls toke boxes and only them carry keys.

I've been on both ends of the spectrum, and it only gives more work to cage and some type of payroll software.

Most casinos the only ones allowed to open the toke boxes are the dealers. The casino holds the keys but no member of management will ever open a box. Also the dealers count the money. Management is responsible for providing the amount of dealer hours and once the rate is determined they issue the checks
