Oh Jesus why so up tight?
I throw buttons around and announce that the all you can eat buffet is open.
We know TR has some bad apple dealers and we've seen you complain about it, sounds like you've been searching for reasons to hate the dealers and you're picking on a dealer that is actually having a little fun with a perky personality.

Get over it.

Absolutely right. Dealer should STFU as much as humanely possible & deal. If I wanted to be entertained by clowns, I would've have gone to the circus.

I've actually said dealers are not as bad as has been noted on here. But when you do get a bad one, they just grind everything to a halt.

I don't lose sleep over it, so not really anything to get over BRAH.

The Degree All In Moment one was stupid though. There is having fun and being perky(whatever the **** that means regarding dealing poker) and there is making things confusing at the expense of being funny. She never even said all in and the whole thing was very confusing. If I had my 4-500 in there I'd be a little perturbed at the protocol used in that particular hand.

And FTR, though I am not a professional dealer I have dealt many, many hours of cash games with 10K+ on the table. My motto is shut up and deal and the players appreciate that and tip accordingly and even request me. You aren't there to join in the table conversation, or be cute or perky. You are there to deal and control the table and the integrity of the game. That doesn't mean you need to make the table a morgue, it just means SUAD.

I deal games where one chip alone is more than double of your 10K on the table. More like millions on the table sometimes.

My point is it doesn't matter the money, cause I bull**** with seat 1 sometimes. Stop being uptight. It was obviously dealer trying to make a perky joke.

AND if you don't think a dealer can make more money by conversatin or bull****ting with players you're in dead wrong. But most just don't know how to do it and still keep games going

What stakes was this?
I personally like friendly, jovial dealers as long as they can still do their job correctly. Can you imagine how horrible the job would be if you had to deal like a robot 40 hours a week?

This is a good example of why I played professionally for such a brief period of time. So many of the regulars were so uptight and miserable, I did not want that type of life for myself.
Poker is a game, have fun.

Yeah, I just love it when you & your ilk have your little private conversations with your new best friend(s) in "seat 1". However, you somehow came up with the correct answer, namely, most dealers are unable to converse & deal simultaneously.

And I can admit that there's only a slight percentage that are able to multitask.
BUT his complaint is sooooo invalid. So what the dealer made a corny joke about an "all in degree moment".

If she slowed down the game for said corny joke I would understand, but doesn't seem like she did.

Doesn't seem like it was trying hard, it was small humor. And he went on life tilt over a dealer not just shutting up and dealing. Self righteous era.

at least the joke was pertinent to poker (meaning the dealer actually watched poker on TV) there is ALOT more to get pissed about that dealers do...like call a string bet themselves...or count out an all in immediatly before the opponent asks...not them making a corny joke..

Is it not the dealer's job to uphold the rules of the game, which includes calling string bets? As for counting all-in bets, I know they're supposed to wait until the opponent asks to give the account, and sometimes they announce the bet size prematurely, but in the 5/10 game, that's typically what people want and it moves the game along faster.

And at least if they stack the chips and count the number without saying anything, then they're ready to give the answer as soon as someone asks. So it's not, bet, tank a minute, how much?, wait another 30 seconds, answer, tank some more, etc.
Twin River Casino (Lincoln, RI) Quote

No it's not.

Those string bets stand as long as another player doesn't object. Then the dealer will enforce it. Also it's the players responsibility to know how much is in a bet. If they don't know or are unsure THEN they can ask the help of the dealer

The calling of a string bet is "room-dependent" as to whether the dealer will call it out, or wait for a player to speak up.
As is how much friendly (to some) fraternization and chumminess is allowed and/or tolerated in a poker room. You folks have spent a lot of intellectual capitol on this very subject- I can tell you that dealers are differently behaved, have different expectations, and have different rules of comportment from region to region. LV and LA dealers pretty much would never say anything like "all in moment" or any other play-by-play type of chatter, at any time, not before during or after. And if you are used to that level of silent concentration, than the chatty, chummy, and somewhat locals favoritism displayed, can be alarming. I've come to expect it, in the smaller rooms of the northeast, and all throughout Florida.
You want silent, professional, and fast dealers- I'll see you at Bellagio.

I'm sorry but even at Bellagio dealers are not silent.
And there's a lot of slumps at Bellagio, couldn't believe it at first but always wondered how some got in there as dealers.
