Add in a softer game/better win rate and TR becomes a no brainer. Hate paying for my bourbon though!
Oh yes! I'm a tanquerey and tonic girl and shelling out $8 a pop kills me!

Does the 5/10 Stud game run on any weeknights? Would anyone like to get that game or 5/10 limit going during a week night? I go one day during the week and they seem to have plenty of dead tables just no interested players

I used to see it running just about any time I've been there. Seems like if anything it runs more on weeknights than on weekends because on weekends those tables/dealers are being used for NLHE. Although I didn't see it much in the fall. I'd be interested in playing some time. I'd also be interested in 5/10 or 10/20 LHE and apparently when they first opened they took an interest list for those games, but not sure if it ever ran. Maybe if we showed up with 7 or 8 people they'd spread it.

Had my first really slow dealer last night. She was gossiping with her short-stacking bff and took 5x as long as it should take every time to get the cards in and out of the shuffler.

Called poker room @ 11:15 AM asked how many on the list for 1/2 NL. Answer:29. Asked how many 1/2 games running. Answer: None. WTF. It's a national holiday (MLK). Made U Turn & headed North to NH. (They ultimately joined the rest of the country & recognized the holiday.)

I was there yesterday @2:00 pm and all of the tables were full. There was a pretty long wait (about 90 minutes for 1/2).

Too long for me. Arrived @ Hampton Falls @ Noon & was seated immediately. Being a charity room it has its drawbacks, but, hey, it's action.

Got there at 12:15 and signed up for 1-2. Was about 22nd on the list after 45 minutes. After they called the same initials for the first guy about 37 times in ten minutes with no one moving or going on to the next name, I said did you just call JSA? Sorry, I was in the restroom, yes, lock it up!

No

heard this 2nd hand from one of the better floor people. it went something like this.

No tournaments. cash games make $140 an hour. tournament only makes $80 an hour. the room is always full, no need to attract people to the room with tournaments at this time

The room was by far the most dead I've ever seen it last night. I heard there was some big Foxwoods high hand giveaway going on so that probably explains a lot of it, plus it was raining pretty heavily. At least a third of the tables were empty when I got there at 8, and by midnight, it was more than half empty. The 5/10 played 4 or 5 handed for awhile then broke at midnight. 2/5 had 2 tables, a main game and a must move. The must move got very short at times but both were going strong when I left at 1.

The 2/5 table I played at was jovial, people laughing and having a good time. Poker after all is a social game. Tables full of people being really serious with headphones on aren't good for the game.

Good to hear about the 2/5. That game has certainly deteriorated over the year it's been open. Was super soft. But now is so reg filled. Hard to make money. Just everyone pushing chips around

The avg pot size is almost certainly smaller than in 1/2, although my 2nd table played much more like a 1/2 game than the typically nitty 2/5 (lots of limps and big preflop raises). But I personally find 2/5 more enjoyable in terms of the opportunity for skillful play since cbets can get through and bluffs are worthwhile. As for the regs, the way I feel about most games at TR is while there are a few really good players at each table in 1/2 and 2/5 (more so in 5/10), there are a lot of bad regs against whom it's not too hard to be winning or at least break even.

I disagree about the deteriorating of the 2/5 game. I have had some of my all time biggest wins lately. I have found that table selection is key but the games are still really juicy.

I've only played 2/5 at TR maybe 4 times and every time I had good tables but for different reasons each time. Maybe what above posters are pointing out is that earlier in this room's existence, table selection was less paramount for finding a good 2/5 game.

exactly...and it was anytime any day

I only play during the day during the week (i know i know worst times) as they are all my schedule allows...and they USED to be great all times of day. now its 6-7 reg/pros 3-4 fish....still beatable...but not as much as it was last year at this time when it was 2-3 reg/pros the rest fish...

and of course if you run good you can still make big scores but thats not the point....the point is the day to day play

i feel you more have to hit monster/cooler hands than regular play if you want to make any serious money...
