Holiday Inn Express or Best Western in Smithfield on Rt 7 are going to be your best bets under or around $99. There are few ultra-cheap motels that have terrible reputations which I wouldn't go near.

I love when dealers give advice on hands/situations but cant read the boards. The worst dealers in any casino by far.

They get the time situation wrong about 30% of the time id say.

I've been four times in the last month...definitely not my experience. I had one horrible dealer, but the rest have all been competent enough.

I have been playing here fairly regularly since open and have noticed that the backs of the cards are consistently covered with little black smudges and general filthy debris. I know they change the cards regularly and I doubt someone is marking them on purpose so my assumption is that the wheels on the autoshufflers need a cleaning. Any thoughts? Should I just memorize which booger based polyhedron is the ace of spades?

It's from the auto shufflers. They went with the cheap ones. They need to be cleaned on a regular basis. I don't think it can be used as an advantage, because the crud gets moved around on each shuffle. I could be wrong, but it is disgusting.

That's debatable, but anyways, what's the rake like there and are those games going most days? I play nl most often, but I've been on a limit kick, I wish I could find a horse game, I miss razz!!!

Not a single post ITT in nearly a month. Should I take that to mean it's still more of the same (i.e., lots of GAMBOOOL, sketchy walks to parked cars, long waits during peak periods) or is the lack of posts indicative of things having calmed down across the board? Just curious since I was considering whether to make a maiden voyage there.

Less time waiting than 2 months ago. Less gamboool but still plenty of gamboool.

There are some pretty terrible dealers still. Pay attention to the action because you can't count on some of the dealers to focus and remember who is still in the hand at times. Also the ****ty card shufflers that can't count the decks really slow things down. Still worth it as the players are bad and the action is decent.

Anyone been since they put in their new system? Was there the other night and the guy that sat me said he didn't need my players card as I was already in the system. Not sure how that is possible since I only gave my initials. Someone as the table was saying that when you put your name on the list, you give the players card there. Is that true? If so, the lady didn't ask for it.

also i still cant be seen online...BUT they have your cell number...and text you when your seat is ready lol

I basically play here every weekend at 1/2, and like other people mentioned on this thread, it is a total joke.

If you are playing a rational TAG style, it is reasonably hard not to win. The competition is just bad.

I sat with a guy last Saturday that rebought 3x (for $300.00 at a time), and lost every last chip within 3 hours! This happens at every casino, of course, but it seems like every table has 5 lose players that get married to top pair- even if it routinely costs them their stack.

Still no PLO being run?

I'm here all the time but for the horses not the poker room. And to people talking about safety, I don't think that's ever gonna change. This isn't Foxwoods where there isn't a major city for miles and miles. Charles Street and Branch Ave are both straight up the street from twin River. Central falls and woonsocket are 10 minute drives away. Lincoln is a nice town, but the surrounding area is bad, and all getting progressively worse. Plus... No security at all here, especially on the side parking lot area

0-30 minutes. The 2nd LHE game will usually get called sometime between noon and 1PM.

I thought Foxwoods dealers could he challenging but TR has them beat. Bad, bad, bad. They had 0 interest in what they were doing, busy talking, zoning out, playing with chips, and just not paying attention. Never where or what the action was.

I realize it's low limit, but do the job. Just s little professionalism from the delears and floor staff would go a long way. Needless to say I'll drive right by them and go to FW until the MA rooms open anyway.

Went last night for first time since the first month due to my awful experience with dealers, floors, and general chaos which to some degree is to be expected with a new room aside from the dealers being so uneducated in their craft and not seeming to care much. 6 months later, not much has changed aside from their being less chaos. Dealers minds anywhere except the game in front of them, making basic errors, inability to pitch cards without exposing them and even worse not caring about it. Awful experience once again and while the games were good, the games are good everywhere. Back up to New Hampshire or Connecticut for me, you lost this customer for good.

The 2/5 and 5/10 rotation is where the best dealers have been put. I think all the dealers at these limits are great.

These posts just keep on coming, yet every week or so we get this one:

That helps to explain why the 1/2 NL dealers remain terrible.

A reg at the room told me there was a $10k pot at 5/10 involving a player in the 10 seat. The players were all-in on the flop. The dealer burned and turned, paused, looked around, and saw some cards sitting to his right with no chips behind (because all the chips were in the pot). The dealer pulled the cards out from underneath a card protector and right into the muck despite the player having an all-in button in front of him. The cards were not retrieved, and the player lost $5k just like that. It was the dealer's second week ever of dealing anywhere, and for some reason, he was put into a 5/10 game with tens of thousands on the table.

One of the times I was playing 5/10, a player got very mildly out of line with a dealer, but then the dealer absolutely blew up, got into a big shouting match, and the floor practically had to keep it from becoming a fist fight. Luckily the dealer was about to push out anyways, and I saw the floor pull him away for a talk, but the floor was not being very proactive, did not apologize to the table, and it was unclear if the floor even would have removed the dealer after the incident if it weren't his time to push. So -1 to that floor and -100 to that dealer.

The best dealers I've had were in the 5/10 limit stud game. Those dealers tended to be a bit more proactive and also more sociable. Perhaps it's because they're used to dealing with the older crowd who frequent that game and from keeping the game running smoothly with all the antes and bring-ins.

The floor told me they would spread any game upon request if there is sufficient demand. A reg told me not so due to regulatory issues, but idk. The floor said if I ever came in with a group of friends and asked to play higher stakes LHE, PLO, or even 8game, they would spread it pending table availability (and dealer competence, I'm sure). Considering outside of absolute peak times there are at least some tables and dealers available, and in particular Mon-Thurs weeknights there is a good amount of traffic but still pretty empty, I'd like to go for it. Anyone else want to try to have a 5/10 or 10/20 HORSE or 8game night at TR and see if they'll go for it?

Awesome, Buffalo. I have at least two, maybe three, friends I could talk into playing. So there's 5 right there. I bet if we went in at like 7pm on a Wednesday when a third of the tables are closed and a quarter of the dealers are just milling about. Maybe we can make a plan for September. PM me if interested.
