Cons:
-Hands are SLOW. At one point everyone at my table looked like a zombie. This is what happens when tips are shared, the dealers have no incentive to work hard/fast (yay socialism!!). I kept saying "One more round" and it took a painfully long time for the button to come back around. Maybe it was just my table, but there was never a chop and the players would "Hollywood" a lot. I could have left to take a dump and came back and not missed a hand. When the board is QJT9X with 4 spades and the guy goes all in on the river against your red aces, just fold man. You know you're beat, the whole table knows you're beat, there is no need to make your decision dramatic and drawn out for 5 minutes.
This is all true, but I look at 'hollywooding' as the cost of doing business with bad/inexperienced players. I don't get mad when they take forever, because half of them legit have no idea what they are supposed to do in spots that are easy decisions for more seasoned players.
I do get mad when someone slowrolls the obvious winner after they've been called. Esp. In a time game
But again, it's the cost of doing business with worse players.
At FW, the player pool is generally fast and classy, but the room is also hell of alot harder.
The dealers have gotten much better at Twin, and they look like superstars compared to new batch of 30 that just got dropped into all the games at FW. At least Twin staff keep the inexperienced dealers away from the bigger games, something FW doesn't do. .
I'm hoping dealers get to also keep their own tips soon as that will improve overall quality of the room greatly. But as is, dealing has been OK.
Twin floor has gotten much better overall. Still some that I can't stand and who honestly don't deserve a job there, but they are in the minority. The majority are now respectful towards players and have a general understanding of what their job entails.
Safety still a big issue there, but I just rent an armored truck and pull right up!
Just kidding. Actually I park as close as possible and run for my life. The action is worth the risk.
This room has grown on me despite its many faults. I never expect it to become a world class room and it isn't trying to be. If the action remains good (it's currently great), then I can live with all the minor faults. I just have to live to and from the parking lot.
