As long as the room is operating at full capacity without Bravo, it makes little financial sense to pay for it. Once the shine wears off and they have to work to attract customers, we'll see if things change.

I agree. It is frustrating though as once the shine wears off they still won't need to do much to fill the majority of 16 tables.

bravo would be nice, but Twitter accounts are free. A lot of the non bravo poker rooms send out tweets every couple of hours

How did we all manage BEFORE Bravo was even available? Why not just call? Maybe, if people kept calling to ask...they would get it.

Non Smoking

I heard it can be a bit loud on the weekends when the bar is open nearby.

Soft drinks are free, adult beverages are not.

I got there around 4am on Saturday morning and 1-2's and 2-5's were running.

The dealers were good except for one. She was definitely new and did announce we were the first people she ever dealt to. Very pleasant and we helped her along.

Floor people were hospitable.

Bathrooms, cage, etc are all very close and if you want to smoke just go down the escalators.

Park at the West Valet or West Lot for the quickest in and out of the Poker Room.

There is a food court of your normal BS right downstairs on the main table floor.

Action was pretty decent for until the (3) fishies left and made us shorthanded.

I didn't notice any charging ports underneath the table.

Other info about operating hours, Bravo, BBJ, buy ins, comps, and rake is accurate.

From everything I saw, the casino law allowed for free drinks from 8:00 am - 2:00 am.

Where did you see that the exception didn't pass?

Stopped in today to get a visual. Meh.

The space they are using is way too small for 16 tables. You literally can't rail someone and chat for a minute without blocking a lane and sticking your ass in some guys face on the table behind you.

I found it a little strange and cramped.

I dont mind it....I was on the first ever 2/5 table...and have been 4 days in the past week...

only thing I really really cant stand is the perfume they pump in there to cover the smoke smell that can escape up there from downstairs...uggg

I must be mistaken. I thought that the final version of the bill did not make an exception, but in research I've found that there was an exemption passed.

Went on 12/9/15 from 1PM - 6PM (here's my best recollection)
by 2:30 all 16 tables were going
(1) 10-20 stud
(1) 5-10 stud
(2) 2-5 NL
(1) 5-10 NL
(2) 3-6 LHE
- the rest were 1-2NL

At 4:30 one 3-6 LHE broke, replaced with 2-5 NLHE.
10-20 stud also broke at some point, and was empty at 6:00PM
The 5-10NL must be time charge, every time I glanced at the table the rake circle was empty.

The dealers do not rotate through the entire room. You get the same 4 dealers over and over again, like 1992 Foxwoods. Dealers were good.

Reward points, players must sign in and sign out with a floor person (including table changes) . I was told you earn "something like" a dollar an hour, so I'm not sure about the comp rate.

Players must pay for alcoholic drinks. It was 5.50 for a Coors Lite. All other drinks are free.

Around 5:00PM every 1-2 table had one or two open seats, was told dinner time it will be back in full swing by 6:30

For me/For now: I will be going to Twin River during the week(25 mins), and MS on the weekends (68mins).

Thanks for the TR. Heading for Foxwoods for an overnighter next Sunday and contemplating a (brief) stop at Twin River to check it out. Does anyone here have an opinion on the quality of the 1/2 NLH games?

I have had 5 sessions in the first 7 days the room has been open...

games are SOFT

1-2 regs on every table...1-2 calling station elderly on every table, 2-4 18 year old wanna be pro's on every table, the remaining 2-4 is a mix of the aforementioned

easy easy game right now....imho more profitable than the 2-5 (almost all FW regs)

Going down tomorrow for the first time. Is there a list prior to the noon opening? If so how early should I arrive to be seated when they start up? Thanks.

I've gone twice, once on a Sunday and once on a Monday and didn't have a long wait for a table in the pm.

Overall it is not a bad little room, i found it to be comfortable, plenty of TVs around.
Arrived at around 9:45pm on a thursday and was able to get a 1-2 seat in about 10-15 minutes.

They were running 1/2, 2/5, 5/10 NL, 3/6 limit

Players seemed to be loose/aggressive, it was pretty amazing how much people were betting with mediocre hands. If you're patient you can probably make out well here.

The air freshener kind of reminds me of the smell of the mirage in vegas.
They're definitely just masking the smoke and not filtering it out well from downstairs, i felt like i smoked a pack of butts the next day. Hopefully they can invest in better air filtration someday since all the smoke just rises up to the "non smoking" casino.

Dealers still seem to be inexperienced, i had a card exposed on the deal 3 times in 3 hours.
naturally two of them were aces!

A couple of times we had to tell the dealer who won the pot when they tried paying a losing hand.

This should get better with time.

They went cheap on the card shufflers, decks need to be verified by hand for no missing cards every 2 hours. They could consider doing this in a back room and just bring the dealer fresh decks rather than interrupting play to verify that all the cards are there.
Foxwoods and Mohegan's shufflers can detect if there are any cards missing.

Another strange thing is apparently the floor manager needs to review or sign off on any chip buys at the table.
We had one player bust out and want to rebuy for $200 and after several minutes of the dealer sitting there with all the chips counted out waiting for a floor manager to approve it the guy wound up getting irritated and asked for his money back and walked away which was too bad since he was kind of a fish and it would have been nice to have another $200 of loose money on the table.

They should be able to just talk in to a mic that they're wearing like every other casino to record cash transactions since there are plenty of cameras around.

Drink service is frequent since there's a bar right next to the poker room and it's not that big, they had two waitresses working 16 tables. Beers are all $5.50 which is kind of funny that it's the same cost for what looked like a 22 oz shipyard draft as it was for a 12oz macro brew bottle.

Comps are $1/hr and they never expire as long as you have activity every 12 months.
You need to sign in and out with the floor manager which is another improvement they should make .. either have the person working the front desk doing it as they lock you up or give the dealers the ability to swipe cards at the table. i wound up not bothering to sign in since the dealer wasn't helpful and there was no floor manager around.

I will probably go back just for the convenience of it but for a longer session would probably still prefer the CT casinos for the free drink service and cleaner air.

I'm a big fan of the room. They are still going through growing pains and there are plenty of flaws, but there's tons of action and the waits aren't bad if you don't waltz in at 8pm on a Fri/Sat. =p

They honestly didn't know at the beginning if the room was going to stay. It was (and still is) in a trial period, but it's obviously been a smashing success so it's here to stay.

Their first order of business is run 24 hours. Personally speaking, this is the only thing stopping me from being there all the time. This is not a hard fix and they are aware of it. They will be hiring grave shift dealers soon so they can run round the clock.

Their next order of business is a much harder task of adding more than 16 tables. It was a huge ordeal to just get the first 16 tables running as every detail has to get approved by the State and that took nearly 2 years, so I'm not holding my breath on this one. You've got people waiting 4+ hours on weekends to get a seat. They are aware of it, but not sure they can actually do anything about it because of the State.

Any other issues are small for me. The comps, the no free wireless, that will improve. The no free alcohol I understand people being frustrated, but that's the tradeoff you get for having it be 18+ and I'm fine with it. The room has tons of FW regs, but also lots of players I don't recognize. Not a coincidence most of the people I don't recognize appear to be younger than 21.

The dealers are a mixed bag, but it's a brand new room. The floor is quickly improving. First couple weeks no one had a clue, now they are mostly on top of it although there are still too many things they need to constantly keep up on. Players not being able to trade bills with each other is a stupid rule as it constantly holds up the dealer to sell chips and wait for floor to approve the amount. Also waiting for them to suit cards is brutal, especially in time games. There has to be a better way

Overall, I'm happy the room exists. As it stands, it's a much better room than I thought it would be out of the gate. There are plenty of flaws, but the staff cares and because of that it will only get better.

Happy New Year,
Magic Man
