Does anyone know if there are safe deposit boxes available at TR?

Gradually they've been going around the room replacing the padded rails on all the tables one by one... but is there any difference at all between the old ones and new ones? If so I can't tell...

Player: Floor, it’s 8:00, can we get the Bruins on the TV?

Floor: Not yet, we don’t have that channel... yet.

Player: Wait... what?! You don’t have the channel? It’s on at Shipyard Bar. We can’t get it here?

Floor: Not yet

I’m lost...

Pretty sure it was just on regular NBC too. But they did get it on within 5 min of puck drop. Go Blue Jackets! (I was able to get 15 cents better than Vegas line just before game time at the TR sports book for 1st ever sports bet on my bday no less!)

Was anyone there for the blackout today? I was driving up the driveway and every single light went out, even the parking lot lights. It looked like the place totally disappeared. Surreal.

Should be some good stories. I wonder what the protocol is there for security.

most likely every man for himself

on a side note I was playing a little craps a few weeks back and their must of been 4 or 5 security guys just hanging by the doors the whole time.my best guess would be some grabbed roulette chips and ran..anyone here anything?

I played on Saturday and Sunday after not having been in the room for probably 8 or 9 months. Overall I found that things had improved in terms of the lighting for seeing the cards, plus in their willingness to and timeliness in opening new tables when the lists got particularly long. And open seats were filled quicker in general. Sure - it was a small sample size, but maybe the effort level has been dialed up a notch out of concern for the impending competition for much of their player pool?

The only negatives were that the temperature in the room can vary a lot, as when I was at 1-2 waiting for a 2-5 seat I was freezing and then when I was moved to the 2-5 table which was not even 30 feet away it was just fine in terms of the temperature. And one of the dealers at 2-5 on Saturday was about as slow as I've seen a dealer at any room, and that includes small charity rooms back in the day. Yes - picking nits somewhat, and I still think the room has improved considerably, as the positive comments easily override the negatives.

Note - this was between about 11AM and 4PM each day, so perhaps this is not the norm when it's more crowded.

Can someone let me know how much they rake please? I went on their site and on Atlas without being able to find the info.
Also any info about reward program is welcome (1 or 2$ per hour played?)

Rake is 10% of the pot capped at $5 with first dollar taken @ $10. No promo drop as there are no promos. Comps are $1/hr.

What sort of decrease is there in the number of games spread since Sunday/Encore?

Particularly interested in 2/5 and 5/10.

My prediction is most $5/10 players will migrate to Encore

$1/2 and $2/5 will remain relatively unchanged

Do they get any limit games like 5/10 or 10/20?

It seems as though over half of the 5/10 player pool has been at Encore the first three days with several I've spoken with having already relocated up here. There were also quite a bit of 2/5 full-timers at Encore the past two days but not the type that are good for the game (the 5-6 names you're thinking of right now are very likely those I'm referring to). It is going to be really difficult for full-timers to return to their former office imho. I agree that it will have a minimal long term effect on 1/2, somewhat greater at 2/5, and devastating to 5/10.

I actually returned to Twin River last night, even after loving my Encore experience on Sunday, just cause it's so damn close to my house and work I can't justify the ride into Boston for a post-work session.

Anyways, for the first time on a Tuesday night in months if not over a year, there was no $5/10 game at all last night! There was an interest list that never had more than maybe six names on it. There was one or two $5/$10 regs playing $2/$5 but the all the true $5/$10 regs were nowhere to be seen (well, I saw most of them on Sunday, at Encore).

There seemed to be less $2/$5 regs too, as my $2/$5 table was absolutely terrific, with just 4 good players I tried to avoid and the rest of the table the typical TR fish who overvalued their hands all the time and you could just take them to value town. The Encore pulling all the regs away could be the best thing for local players who know what they are doing as the local fish aren't going anywhere

Had a nice chat with a dealer who mentioned that since adding in the sports betting kiosks, the sports betting there has taken a huge nose dive and is not the big money maker they thought it would be. I thought that was interesting.

This! I was thinking it might happen. Already from experience, the TR players are the fishiest in all new england venues. Must be amazing now.

I am sure the ridiculous 51% tax on sports betting revenue somehow has something to do with it.

Why would a gambler care about how much the state is taking from Twin River? This should have zero effect. I'm "guessing" that it has much more to do with the sports kiosks being up and running after both football and college basketball seasons have concluded. Was anyone running to bet on the Mets/Phillies game tonight? The place will be a zoo come September.
