Frankie, why always do the June tournament fathers day weekend? Seems like you could just do it the following weekend. Hate missing TS events.

Hi Boss, the end of the second week is the optimum time for the June Tournament. Having it earlier in June is just too close to the May event and then in the last 2 weeks of June, there are too many Graduations. In addition to all that, it gives a lot of Dads a reason/excuse to get out and enjoy a day of poker! Hope that helps!

Anyone have any info on a July tournament series? I know it's a bit early but would like to start weighing options.

Hi Aces, we traditionally do not run our $100K tournament in July.
Since 2023 is Turning Stones 30th Anniversary, we will be having a Tournament similar to the one we had for our 25th Anniversary but with a few differences. Final details are in the works and info will be available soon on our website and Bravo Poker!
In addition, we will still be holding our (2) Tuesday $5K Guarantees and the Monthly $50 Bounty and $100Bounty tournaments on select Saturdays in July! Hope that helps!

After a recent trip to Vegas- just want to see if I can ask if any changes could be considered for tstone events (I know staffing is tight etc).

1) any chance you guys can play to the money on day one of big events? Venetian changed to no dinner break for their mtts with multi flights which I kinda liked. It forces players to order food service which is probably a wise business decision for the casino. I think playing down to say 10-12.5% is smart as folks don’t have to go into day 2 and then not cash (which can be frustrating when coming back for a day 2). I wouldn’t even mind playing to say 12.5%, then have players come back for day 2 guaranteed a min cash. Tourny would probably go 17-18 levels on day 1 but at least players are guaranteed a min cash that progress. Another tourny could be added to Sunday for the punters that don’t make day 2 which again is a nice thing for the players that stay a weekend.

2) any way a 2nd turbo tourny can be run on Sundays. Again I know staffing is tight but I think it would be very cool if a tourny could be offered on Sundays with a turbo ish structure like way back in the day at stone (back when no gimmicks ran mtts)- I think a 30-40k starting stack mtt one day would be offered that had 20 min levels. That would be so cool for players not making day 2 of the big gtn mtt with 2 flights.

3) mystery bounties? Played one in vegas and found the drawing of bounties very exciting. I’m not a huge fan of mystery bounties but they do get some draw from more rec players looking for a big payout. I played a $150k gtn at aria that got a prize pool of 371k. Think these gimmicky events are fun and def create a draw from many players. I would expect them to do well.

4) the 30th anniversary- past few years you guys ran a super small buyin. Please make it $200 minimum with a huge gtn. I wanna say the 25th had a small buy in like $50 or $80. Please raise the buyin and just have a better structure. To me- a $300- 100-150k would be awesome. I’m fine with anything- a $200-75k, $400-200k etc etc etc would be nice.


As always, you guys are doing a great job. I love the structure you run with 40min levels for a $460-100k (June event). Gives a ton of play which is nice. I’m just hoping more tournaments can be run down the road (I know unlikely based on history of past 10 years at tstone- same schedule is typically run). Looking forward for the June mtt in 2 weeks.

The 25th anniversary one had a $25 buy in with a ton of flights. Can't remember if Day 2 had a buy in or not.

Wow that’s an interesting feature. So let me make sure this is correct- say hero bags 150k in chips- day 2 reverts back to level 1 of tourny so player has more time per se with a turn structure. Very cool feature I haven’t seen much in live arena. Frankie- any chance you have a structure sheet for this tourny? I’ll fire some bullets at it! Pretty interested in what the # of runners it gets is. I would say over under around 1500?. Should be fun.



I kinda wish it was like a $100-200 buy in with bigger gtn- say $150 100k. I kinda miss the 2flight a day tournies tstone would run where they would have 4 flights and then a day 2 . I know hard to run if you provide a better structure with less kos.

JK....Though it was run differently, there were over 1,600 entries in the 25 for 25 in 2018. Please note...all day 2 guests will be in the money but start in a brand new tournament at level 1 with 15,000 starting stack. There is no carry over from the day 1 flights. Day 2 is a brand new event!

Thanks for the reply. I did look at both of those before posting here, without success. I do see the rake structure for the Empire Holdem Championships, but not the other tournaments. Am I missing something?

For the record I’m not actually super-concerned about the rake, but for bounty tournaments I do like to think ahead about things like how much money is in the prize pool vs the bounties.

For the upcoming tourney October 12-15…if I arrive Saturday morning and buy-in for day 1B, will I get seated right away or will there be alternates?

Frankie’s answer is almost certainly going to be the politically correct one of “we have a limited number of tables and as such we will likely get to an alternate list at some point, which could be before the tourney starts. Getting there as early as possible will be the best chance to guarantee a seat.”

Reality is they haven’t been selling out pre-flight in a while-the last few have haven’t hit capacity until early afternoon ish. If you’re there before the start, you will almost certainly be good. The same may not hold for the Thanksgiving turnout which may get a bigger field.

Btw love the $460 structures. Have traveled a bit recently for live mtts in the northeast and think the structure you guys offer with the 40/50 min levels and a $460 buyin is excellent. Played a $500 in Philly recently and structure was much worse with more rake. Think the $460 structures are very player friendly.

Looking forward to the Black Friday mtt. This mtt at stone is by far my favorite date as I can easily play both day 1 flights and not have to worry about using a vacation day. Hoping it can hit 800+ runners.
