I did notice that the people who want to buy-in on the sunday start one hour before everyone else (10am). Maybe they play an hour of a lower blind level to allow themselves to run up a bit of a stack before 1.5k / 3k at 11am with everyone else.
Yeah, that's not a thing.

You can buy in from 10-11am before the flight starts. Not 100% sure but I think reg is closed once day 2 starts. I mean I think you get the button if you buy in on day 2. It’s possible to spin it up and go on to win the tournament on 6bbs.

However not something I would venture into. I would rather start with 30bbs minimum. Even starting with 30-40bbs is not something I’m a fan of bc even that is kinda short and doesn’t allow for much play.

As always franky, please more 500s. The structure with the progressing level times makes the 500 so much better than a 250. The fact the tourny has prolly 200-250 runners also is something I like more than a 400-500 player field.

Also one thought. I remember way back turning stone would make their November series a superstack event with deeper starting stacks. Can we get a series sometime with a different structure / starting stack.

On Day 2 for most Tournaments, we offer the Sunday buy-in as a convenience to those who may not have able to get here on Friday and Saturday. The buy-in time is available from 10am to 11am, no early play, no run up time. The Day 2 tournament starts for everyone at the same time...11am. Its simply a courtesy hour to buy in prior to the Main event taking place! Thank you!

Hello to all the recent posters and those on the Forum... its tougher than in years past to run larger priced $100K Guarantees especially when many rooms are dropping or beginning to drop their buy-in prices for $100K and up events to compete for players. I fully understand the preference in different structures for different events and those will maintain their place.

I also know, understand why and appreciate the fact that a number of tournament players prefer playing smaller fields ... However, from the business side and customer courtesy side, the intent of any poker room in the country is to bring in and accommodate as many folks as possible for their events! Thank you!

Was planning all week on coming then this morning just couldn't get myself to make the two hour drive to turning Stone.
Felt like I was torturing myself by going. Never been a fan of the room but obviously that wouldn't stop me from going for good tournaments. They are just not worth it anymore.

Del Lago is getting bigger turnouts now. TS is basically toast at this point. This is their biggest tournament of the year and its looking like overlay or barely meet the guarantee. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the last $500 they run.

Just won a seat for $110 from the satty (brag) but when playing me and 4 others got to chatting about it and then talked to the entire table.

Everyone wanted to see $300 100k or $550 150k
No one is happy about the smaller sizes, and yes we all want TS to succeed.
The one reg here I’ve seen for years was making a point saying none of the Buffalo people wanna drive here anymore for a 50k

Have made this point a few times in this thread. TS relies on people from out of town for bigger tournaments, being in the middle of nowhere, and the place in general is not even on people's radars anymore.

Toast??? and not on peoples radar??? LOL I know you are and never have been a fan of the room but please get your facts straight Boss. As of right now, 1:35pm we have the most cash games in the state of NY. You want to harp on the fact that this 1 tourney has a lighter turnout than usual that's fine and noted. But poker is just fine at Turning Stone!
To say that TS is toast is just irresponsible. Other rooms have dropped prices to come over the top of us and we will respond in turn. Keep in mind this is our 2nd event in 2 weeks and there are a total of 5 $300 plus events in the region for August. 8 new poker rooms have opened within a drivable distance in the last 3 years which has made tournament play very regional and very price point attractive. Again, if anyone, Boss, Carl and JK would like to call or stop by and chat, ill be more than happy to review current facts, figures and trends...not opinions by reviewing what happened 3 to 10 years ago... 315 361 7629 Thanks guys!

Carl, you might not want to listen to that one guy who is speaking for all of Buffalo. I took a quick look in Bravo Data over the last year and there are plenty of folks from Buffalo who still come to Turning Stone for tourneys and cash play on a regular basis. Ill take the 350 to 475 guests we have been getting in our $50K and $75K events anyday! Facts, not hearsay! Thank you!

Thank you Boss for explaining my point. Being in the middle of nowhere we ALWAYS have depended on guests from out of town for all our events. Now that Poker rooms have come to nearly every surrounding region, guests have the option to travel or not in order to play in tournaments or cash games, some like to stay closer to home. Thankfully, though, many still do travel to Turning Stone in addition to playing in their own region! Thanks Boss!

Fridays are always the slowest day of our events as guests from out of town prefer not to drive back and forth over 2 days. As of 4:55 pm on Saturday though, 136 guests have signed up to play...the $100K guarantee has been met and there are still 5 and half hours left for sign ups. In addition, we have13 live cash games and growing heading into tonight. Thank to all for coming out to Turning Stone for our 2 weekend event!!!

Hey Frankie, was going to say hi but I didn’t see you around when i busted tourny today. Please don’t get rid of the 500s... is all I will say.

One thing I would like to say. I feel it would be cool if turning stone ran bigger mtt events on holiday weekends when Monday’s are off for the general public. Labor Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day... are all examples of great weekends to run bigger mtt events bc people generally would make it out. Just my 2 cents.

Hoping we see a 100k gtn 250 in November along with a 100k 570.

Hi JK sorry I missed you...working on the upcoming events very soon. Thanks for coming in to play ... it started off a little slow on Friday but was expected due to the number of events in the region this month. The $100K bounced back nicely with roughly 174 entries on Sat. and 6 this morning for a total of 244 guests and a $122,000 prize pool. Hope to see you in November!

Franky a suggestion that all players typically like is you should play down to 15% of the field that way everyone who bags will be in the money the following day so you don’t have to worry about getting a room or anything and having to worry about cashing it’s very beneficial and most people would rather play the extra hour on day one to make sure they made it otherwise they could just go home that night. And I am using text to talk so hopefully this came out proper.

Hi was hoping someone could answer this.

Poker Atlas show a $5/$10 Omaha 8 and $1/$5 Stud game. It says O8 runs on weekends and the Stud game once a week.

Does the Stud game still run and if so what day and time? My guess is if one or two of these old timers dies the game dies.

Also wondering how common the O8 is.

I’d love to play Stud of even O8. Looks like the only room in the state or even Ontario they had and O8 game and particularly at this limit.
