He did not only say he hopes I lose my stack. Before that he said "I want to shoot myself hearing these kids talk about all this online stuff," then right after "actually I don't want to shoot myself, I want to shoot someone else." Of course I am not going to report it to the police or anything. I did not say anything remotely out of line to him until the very end. I just stated why I am not tipping, when I was questioned about it by another player. Maybe I shouldn't have done that. My bad. I am not going to lie, I said one offensive thing to him right before leaving the table. It was "you keep dealing 1/2," and he responded "you're the one playing 1/2." That was the only table running, so nice comeback?

I have played over 40 hours at Turning Stone so far and this is the only person I have had any sort of problem with. People are welcome to spread this roomer into whatever they like, it would actually be pretty funny to hear what they came up with. I will continue playing there and continue giving other players and dealers utmost respect. I just hope no one expects me to tip at all after this incident.

If the pot is over 20 bucks, it should be an insta-tip of a dollar IMO. I might even do it for a little less of a pot.

So lets see if I have this right. A dealer wronged you in some way (how - really doesn't matter). And now ALL dealers that are providing you a service when you are there will be affected?

Respect is nice - but it doesn't pay the bills.

Don't get me wrong - tipping is a personal choice. Who/How you choose to tip is yours and yours alone (and I don't want to start a tipping flame war) but just curious - If a waitress spills a drink on your lap do you no longer tip any of the others?

Thank you Mike! Will do.
Eh I would tip all dealers in the future, probably even the guy who said that stuff to me. Don't expect me to though. I am honestly, seriously trying to figure out my winrate before tips. It would be pretty lame to drive 4 hours to a casino and play endless hours while tipping and then find out I am a steady loser at the table and a huge loser after gas. Yada yada yada.

That's interesting, because another thing I said before leaving the table was "you telling me you hope I lose my stack is like a waitress telling me they hope I get sick." The dealer disagreed. I don't know why...it seems similar to me besides the whole physical illness part, which is irrelevant because they would be saying it, but not poisoning my food--like him telling me he hopes I lose, but he obviously wasn't giving me bad cards. If awaitress said I hope you get sick from your food, it may change my opinion on the establishment's ability to hire adequate waitresses, and I may not feel inclined to tip anyone there anymore, for instance if I requested a new waitress. Back on topic, this was taken care of and I am fully relieved and pleased about it, so I'll stop talking now.

soo.... Who wants Ice cream?

I think we need some more Stud. And higher limit holdem games. Maybe run a promotion similar to what Borgata did to get alternate games going?

You have 3 diff "options" right at the casino but if you don't want to stay there......

There's a fairfield inn right across the street & a Microtel about .5 miles away.

Really?

Majority of dealers are just really bad all around.

Ask around see if players agree. I have had rave reviews of our dealers honestly. Now of course not everyone is a gonna be the greatest ever but for you to say the majority.

I will be working 13 out of 14 days hope to see all of you,

Michael

There are about 2 or 3 dealers at turning stone that are good. The rest are terrible, include you michael, haha. Most of the dealers get 15 hands an hour. So slow it could put you to sleep , and they either don't know the rules or don't enforcement them.

The best dealers there are the small guy , the guy whose name looks like it should be Vlad and one lady dealer. They deal fast and keep the game moving. The others are lazy , they would rather go slow and make sure not to make mistakes.

I was there and basically the dealer was giving him a hard time because he did not tip. He was taking down a lot of pots and of course giving no tips.

Honestly in a slow poker room such as the TS the dealers don't make that much and most everyone should tip (save of course the old timers who are playing poker with their medicine money). Conversely AC dealers have been known to take in $100,000+ a year so one person not tipping really wont even hit them.

P.S
Why are you trying to play pro at the turning stone tho? There is no action there except maybe a little on the weekends. Just move if you wanna do that and then you can not tip all u want and you'll probably make a lot more money too irregardless of tokes

Welcome to real life, my friend. I'm not, never was, nor ever will be a dealer, but tipping is part of live poker. Maybe I'm wrong, but I would think serious poker players would take into account all their legit costs, which if you play live, include tipping. +1 on the influential brother.

15/hr = 1 hand every 4 minutes - somehow I don't think TS would keep a dealer that only gets 1 hand out every 4 minutes.

Does anyone know how long you need to play for to get certain comps and stuff? Like I've never made it a priority to get my diamond card swiped if no one asked for it or anything, and I've always forgotten to swipe out (do you even have to?) when I was done playing..
