What are the poker room rate hotels? I cannot find them anywhere, and I'm hoping to return to Turning Stone within the next couple of months.

They actually lied to me, there was "PLENTY" of poker room rates for the tournament. So I grabbed it.

It's 85/night. You have to play 4hrs minimum cash a day or play in tournaments.

The hotel I found for 65/night was days inn in Canastota. It's worth the extra 20/night to just be at the casino though to me

Is there a way to check what games are running other than calling the 800 #?
No bravo, nothing on the website?

Pretty sure you have to call.

Also, is the blind structure for the superstacks series the same structure as the dailys...?

Anyone been playing this week so far? I wondering how the cash games have been with the tourneys running? Any good 2/5 NLHE action? Are there any PLO games running? Thanks

I'm thinking about doing a weekend trip this coming weekend from Niagara Falls area. (about 3 hours away)

How's the action here? How many 2/5 or 5/5 games will spread?

Anybody specific I should call for a poker rate?

Is there a better room approx. distance from me I should consider? (~3 hours from the falls)

anyone know if there's a January tourney series next year? They've had it on previous years

also are the Superstacks results posted online anywhere? they used to be posted to Hendon Mob or Bluff but haven't seen anything...

Cheers

I'm waiting for the results to show on my hendon mob too. Kevmath told me on twitter that he expects it 1-2 weeks after the series is over

Planning on heading down with some friends tomorrow. Any chance a 4/8 or 5/10 limit Holdem or mix game in that range may run?

After almost two years of unemployment and working smaller-wage jobs, I finally get to come back to Turning Stone this Friday night.

I have a question about the cash games that will be running though. I am actually going up as part of a "bachelor party" type group with my friends. None of them actually have the money to play poker there, so if I do get a chance to play, it will be really late in the evening when everything is winding down.

How well do the $1/$2 cash games typically run nowadays on a Friday night at about 1 or 2 am? How much do you think the winter holiday will affect the player pool?

I've been to TS for poker a handful of times (5-6) over the past six months, and generally I have positive things to say. The poker room rate is an awesome feature since I live 3 hours away, and the room is a nice size with enough tables to accommodate very busy evenings with little to no wait.

As for the action, I can really only comment on 1/2 NL as that's what I always play. I would call myself a relatively conservative player (definitely not a traditional LAG), but I often find myself the LAG at the tables at TS...at least that has been my experience. Generally very tight players who trap constantly. Not necessarily a bad thing when your timing is right, but making meaningful headway with an aggressive style hand to hand (with the exception of when no one has anything) can be tough.

Anyway, that's two cents. Great facilities (I do wish they had auto-shufflers though) and good room rates with plenty of games to choose from...not great from an "action" standpoint though.

Does anyone know of any buses that can take me from NYC to Turning Stone? I'm a student currently in NYC and would like to spend my weekends grinding there, but I cannot seem to find a bus service. I'm also under 21 currently, so Foxwoods and AC are out of the question.

^ I'm in the exact same situation. I looked around online and it seems the only way is to take a bus to syracuse or another near city and get a cab to connect. Really sucks, hope there's another way.

montreal is way easier to get to from NYC by bus or train than turning stone. it's 100% the better option for someone under 21 looking to play cards who doesn't have a car

you can drink in mtl at 18 too so that's another bonus

But (by car) Turning stone is 4 hours from NYC and Montreal is 6 hours.

Same situation as you, under 21 and a student in New York. However, I got you beat because Im luckily a student upstate, so its only an hour/hour thirty to TS from our campus. I wish I went more regularly, Id give you (and whoever else said they were in your boat) rides from the Syracuse trans center. Its halfway between my campus and Turning stone (and conveniently my home town.)

Definitely going to start going on some weekends soon though, trying to get to the point where I can full time there over the summer.

For anyone interested in the 18-20 year old range, Seneca Niagara is allowing that age group into events 10-16 of their next tournament series at the end of March/early April.

How many games usually run (2/5, 5/5) on the weekend Fri-Sun?

I was at turning stone once in 2007?08? forget.., and would love to just come down for a weekend to see some new faces in cash games.

nothing above 2/5 unless you can randomly get it bumped to 5/10 late at night. usually 2 tables of 2/5 and it's pretty meh action.
Only big game is 50/100 on Fridays and random other times. Occasionally we'll play 75/150 or 1/2 depending on the group (this is lhe im talking about)
