What is the rake in a $1/$2 NL cash game? Last time I was there, it was something gigantic like $6 out of a $30 pot.

I think it was 75, but I busted before Reg closed so can't say it didn't creep a few higher.

Not poker related but TS related..would like to hear thoughts of TS regulars

Ill make this as short as possible, playing texas hold em bonus at Turning Stone casino with my bro and random players. A couple hours into it they stop the game and inform my bro, myself an the only other person at the table that we all owe them money due to a dealer mistake hours ago. Apparently the dealer made a flush and didnt see it..My bro and I are both seasoned poker players and saw no flush or any other hands that we were inappropriately paid on..THATS A FACT! We look at each other like WTF and ask to speak with someone higher, that person arrives, Ken, who walked over like he was holding a tomato can under each arm, you know the type. He quickly informs us hes the top in the food chain and no one higher to speak with..we pay or leave and not allowed back until we pay, thats it, he doesnt need to explain anything further. We asked for proof, he refused..pay or leave. I owed $125, my bro $55 and the other guy $90. In all honesty it wasnt about the money it was about how it was handled..We all paid, spoke with someone with the commission at the casino whos exact title escapes me, nice guy, but at the end of the day pay or leave..your thoughts?

Was wondering the same thing, since I'm gonna prob play in the 7pm tomorrow. I called up there and Rich told me they're expecting somewhere between 70-100 est, with a chance for more bc of the holiday. Not bad at all.

Nope. Right on the website.

Bad Beat Jackpot - Four eights or better beat by a higher hand. 50% of the jackpot is paid to the highest qualifying losing hand, 25% of the jackpot is paid to the winning hand, the remaining 25% of the jackpot is divided equally among the remaining players who were dealt in the hand. The Bad Beat Jackpot will start at $1,000 and $500 will be added daily to the total. All of our regular Bad Beat rules still apply.

You can't really trust what is on their website - try comparing the web page for any of the tournament series with what is on the PDFs they also post. The Play for a Day promotion had the wrong day on the website for months (it said second Monday, when it is the second Friday - that is now correct). And so on and so on. I don't think there is any malice; just that their web programmer pays no attention to detail.

As for the Bad Beat Jackpot, the website is correct that it is now quad 8s beaten (apparently, having it get hit once every three to four months was too often). However, the website is wrong in that they add $1,000 every day, not $500.

There is also a separate Omaha bad beat that goes up $50 a day. I don't think that has been hit since it was started. Must need a Royal Flush beaten to qualify.

Idk if you were being sarcastic with it being hit too often statement but it brings up a legit question. How often should it be hit? What's it like at other casinos?

IMO, really strict BBJ rules are good. It gets hit less frequently which means the jackpot is often very large and it attracts lots of players/fish. Who cares about actaully hitting the damn thing.

I see TS has gotten way more reasonable with their tournament BIs (despite the rake, I think Mr. micros will start going back up there again, especially with the PLO hi tournament running. any idea how many runners that has been bringing in?

If more than $500 is collected in a day which I would expect, where does rest of the money go?

Bad Beat Jackpots are like the state lottery. If they weren't making a profit, it wouldn't exist.
