My opinions thus far:
1. Harrah's
2. empty
3. Horseshoe and Goldstrike (tied for almost last).
4. Fitzgerald's
1. The Paula Deen Buffet seems to have a good variety of choices and there always seems to be something for everyone. The chicken pot pie is very good, and their seafood dept seems pretty good (although limited, as they all are). They have steak on Friday nights and crab legs on Saturday night. I was disappointed in their biscuits and gravy during breakfast as they were quite "so so". I expected them to be extra special, but they weren't.
2. I haven't found anything that is close to Paula Deen.
3. Horseshoe has a better selection of food choices than Paula Deen, but everything seemed warm instead of hot. The flavor just wasn't there. They have crab legs on Friday and Saturday night, but the size of the crab legs seems smaller than Harrah's. The food was generally "unremarkable". I've only eaten at Gold Strike once, and I went there on a Friday specifically for crab legs. The crab legs were small. They were also steamed for so long that the legs would bend instead of break, making the "crackers" almost useless. In fairness, I didn't try much else on the buffet, and nothing was "bad", but the size of the crab legs was just "dinky".
4. Fitzgerald's was a disaster. Everything that was fried was extra greasy (like the grease wasn't hot enough). The Chinese food was bland. They had "Hamburger Helper" on the buffet (honestly, I have a picture where they have it marked as hamburger helper. The ambiance was extremely generic and low-budget. Much of the food wasn't "worth" eating, to the point that I left most of it on the plate. I mentioned my disgust of the buffet with the dealers at Harrah's and one told me that Fitzgerald's has one of the best seafood buffets on the weekends. I wasn't enticed enough to venture back over.
Out of the 4, the only place I'd spend money on the food is Harrah's. From my first experience at Fitzgerald's, I'd turn down a free buffet, leave, and drive to Gold Strike or Horseshoe for a free buffet. Neither Horseshoe or Gold Strike is worth leaving to walk next door for the others' food.
In fairness, I've only eaten at Gold Strike and Fitzgerald's once. Gold Strike COULD be better than I'm giving them credit for, simply because I went there on a Friday night specifically FOR crab legs, and they were a let-down.
