Any suggestions on tourneys with a good blind structure? I notice all the casinos have their buy ins anywhere from 30-70 on the weekdays......hmm

If any of those <$70 tournaments have a structure that isn't super fast, I'd be shocked.

I played the $100 one at Harrah's one Saturday afternoon, and it was deep for an hour or so and then it was like a turbo the rest of the way.

The $160 one at the Horseshoe on Saturdays at 4PM has a pretty decent structure, though.

Most of the dailys have about the same structures which are designed to have the tourney over in 4-5 hours. The Horseshoe weekend tourneys are a little better.

Thanks again for the info guys.

How about the cash games in general during the weekdays? Any particular places that aren't dead and has decent action? I went this past Sat to Goldstrike and it was pretty packed.

Thanks in advance.

Goldstrike was packed due to the WPO there at that time rooms listed inorder of normal traffic: Horseshoe, Goldstrike, Harrahs, Samstown and following the pack is Hollywood.

Post WPO action has been great. I'm very pleased with not only the action for the tournament but the week following is usually dead. All the regulars are back and a lot of new faces is always a great sign.

Todd[/QUOTE If you ever make your room a little more wheelchair friendly I would play there but I have heard nothing but promises for years.

If you call me as soon as you get on property I will either personally come get you or have security escort you up the elevator. I have quite a few players that are in wheelchairs and I'll bend over backwards to make sure they have and get what they need. If you require anything else please call me or pm me and I'll see what can be done. I'm going to pm you my personal cell number. Call anytime.

So I have one final chance to come gambool it up before school starts. I have a few Qs.

So if I came to tunica from this thurs evening-tues morning, where are the place to play? I'm pretty much going to be playing since waking up until going to sleep. Would it be dead on sunday/monday during some periods?

I would be spending my evenings at the horseshoe or goldstrike. During the morning and afternoon I have heard that harrahs is good during the morning. Can anyone confirm or recommend a different schedule?

Also, what are the non-tournament rates for GS and horseshoe?

Thanks a lot

Your best bet is either the Shoe or the Strike, lately the Shoe has been the busiest with all their promotions bringing people in early. Sundays are still busy but Mondays get slow. Last I heard the room rates were $45-55 or something close to that. Not sure since I live here. Be sure and say Hi to me just look for the old fart in red electric wheelchair.

Care to elaborate a little bit on the current promotions? I'm going to check their website, but I would also like to hear about them from someone that is actually there. I'll probably play there the most anyway, so the promotions are secondary to me. Just curious.

I'm going to be there on Sunday-Tues and will give you a hello if I see the red wheelchair (assuming there aren't 20 people rocking the red one )

Programs like 1st 5 fullhouses after 8am get a bonus, a bad beat promotion where I believe flushes and higher get beat you get a bonus $100 and up to I think $500 depending on your hand, high hand of the hour, get all 4 flushes in the day and you get a $100 and there are several others and some change daily. The promotions are drawing in locals daily.

bigtex21,

I have only played NL at the Shoe and GS.

What levels of O/8 can you find in Tunica?

Would they ever be able to get a smaller mixed game going?

What size is the big game at GS?

How have I never seen you there in 10 or so trips?

Thanks,

Ret

You can find 0/8 and omaha usually at the the shoe, maybe a mixed game on weekends. Can't help with info on the Strike since I don't play there, usually play at the Shoe or Sams.

Any word on the Sunday deep stack tournament on Sunday afternoons at the Shoe? I assume it's mostly regs with some tourists mixed in (70/30?). How many runners does it typically get? Blind structure?

70/30 is about right, 40-60 players decent strucure for a weekly tourney and it takes about 5-7 hours to finish.

I was at the Shoe for 4 days during the last week of the WPO. The Shoe has a regular $4/8 half kill O8 game that starts at noon on Thursday. They took our names for the list on Wednesday night. It ran all day Thursday and broke about 6 am Friday morning. It started back about noon on Friday and ran all night and into the morning and started again at about 2 pm on Saturday and was still running when I left the room at 2 am.

Good game, but the regulars were all pretty solid, with a few of them being extremely tight and really good players. Surprisingly, the game stayed full and every couple hours a tourist would sit down and their play, on average, was pretty bad. Very fun game. If you'd like more details, PM me.
